Magnificent!,I love all of Lucy!, but the 'Rocker' in me simply adores this side of Lucy!(yes you Lucy!😃),maybe if you do more concerts at the "Palm house"you could perform this one!,but fill in the bit you left out!.😅🥰.

I was never a fan of Prince. It just seemed to me that his music was inseparable from a sordid lifestyle that permeates so much of the modern music scene. Just my opinion of course. Please don't hate on me for saying that. On the technical side I listened to both the Lucy and the Prince versions, and it is clear to me that Lucy has far more "raw" musical talent. No comparison really. She smashes all the barriers between genres. That is her hallmark. But to be honest I would much rather see Lucy transform the modern music scene than the other way around. As she grows and matures Lucy will create her own genre. Only she can determine what that will be. Few if any people in my long life have had the power to do that. I love to hear her "sing her little socks off" for us. Love you to pieces Lucy.

I went back and listened to the entire Prince Purple Rain recordings. In fairness, I still like Lucy singing this much better. I enjoyed the music of Prince's version. I much prefer Lucy's version since I can hear the words correctly. I watched some of the live versions as well. I much prefer Lucy's diction and the changes she made to make it more her own. You go girl!!!

Singing Purple Rain sitting down and making such a fantastic job of it is almost impossible! In February i'd booked to see a concert at The Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool given by the second best female singer i've ever heard live, one Elkie Brookes, she does a cracking version of Purple Rain, btw Elkie is 81 years old, I first saw her live in 1972!
