Podcast 12: The Machine | with NAOMI KLEIN
My dear Patrons
I started the Juice Media Podcast less than a year ago - thanks to you - and never would I have imagined to already be at the stage where I could have some of my favourite thinkers in the world as my guests.
I read Naomi Klein's No Logo when I was an undergrad student at uni, and it was one of the books that set me on the course I've been on. So you can probably imagine how stoked I am to bring you Episode 12 of the Juice Media Podcast - in which I have the honour to sit down for an epic chat with Naomi Klein about wtf is going on in the world right now...
From the lessons we're learning in this historic moment, to what we need to do before The Machine is turned back on, the coming US election, the Green New Deal, how Bernie Sanders has brokered a deal to unify progressives and Democrats and ensure progressive voices will still be heard if Joe Biden is elected in Novemeber - this episode contains so much helpful info - I sure learned a lot.
This podcast powerfully wraps up our Honest Government Ad about The Machine, to which this episode is a companion - and sets us up neatly for our next one - which will be coming very soon.
A huge thanks to Tom Day for letting us use his awesome music as our soundbed, I just love beautifully it helps the content cut through (thanks Tom!)
And as always, thank YOU - our Patrons - for making this work possible.
Catch you all soon for our nest Honest Government Ad!
Giordano
PS. in the coming days, you might hear from Patreon about some changes to their fees - apparently Governments have been heckling them to charge sales tax. I will write to you about this in more detail in another post, but please just know that these changes won't affect any of our Patrons!

Excellent! Thank you.
Great stuff!
Apologies I missed that, of course you already had done it 👍 🙂
Excellent work folks, this was informative and insightful while keeping the human touch. If you have the time to provide a transcript that would be great, there's a lot of material there.
Thank you :) The transcript is available on our podcast host page here: https://thejuicemedia.simplecast.com/episodes/the-machine-part-2-with-naomi-klein Or you can enable captions on the youtube video :)
This was awesome, Giordano. You & Naomi may be interested to know that Australia does have a Leap Manifesto inspired movement, Australia Remade: https://australiaremade.org .
Thanks Fern, am checking it out now 👍
9.07 - CRYING through the overflowing empathy of both of you xxX loving this - continuing now
💛💛
Wow. Congratulations to you Giordano and your talented team! What a coup! Naomi Klein a wonderful voice and intellect sadly too often ignored by those in power.
Thanks Alpheus 🙏
Lovely work guys, another interesting conversation, well received and some really nice 'human' questions in there. I really liked the 'what keeps you going?' question and response, it's great to understand where a person is coming from, their motivator. The 'meeting' at the end is a wonderful inclusion! AND it is great to hear you using Tom Day's music, one of my favourite Aussie artists. Best, Pete BTW, the link above to the YouTube video is missing a colon... https://...
DOH! Thanks Peter, have fixed the link now. Funny how one can spend days poring over the details of something for days, and then fuck up the last bit where you deliver the outcome! So glad you enjoyed this podcast, thanks for tuning in Gx
GREAT podcast! I already watched it on YouTube. Thank you so much for having Naomi on your program. She won't remember me from when I drove down from Utah to help campaign for Bernie Sanders in Las Vegas, but I deemed it a privilege to meet her. She is a true hero for those of us who have been working for several years now to implement a Green New Deal. I completely share her feelings of rage, fear, and love in the struggle.
Oh wow this is so awesome, thanks for sharing that with us Mark. So awesome that you made time to help Bernie's campaign. You must have loved the part where Naomi spoke so powerfully about Bernie winning Nevada and "sweeping the Las Vegas strip"!?
