Honest Government Ads | Behind the Scenes 2018
Dear legendary Patrons - thank you for all your support in 2018!
I'm not going to bore you with a gushing message about how much I appreciate you for allowing me to do this work.
Instead, I've made a video about it!
With some Honest Government Ads outtakes and Behind the Scenes action thrown in, for good measure.
It's also an opportunity for me to share some of the story behind the Honest Government Ads. I hope you enjoy it.
Happy new year to you and your families and all the best from us for a happy, healthy and above all meaningful new year. And we'll catch you soon for some more genuine satire!
Your pals
Giordano, Lucy (and Luca!)

awesome job! I have logged into my patreon account for the first time since I started supporting you guys well over a year ago? But anyway, watching this video was motivational (and a good laugh) keep it up
lol Nick - so glad u dug the end of year vid - and thanks so much for this past year of support!
It may be biting the hands that feeds you, but Patreon soon need an honest ad. I think most of your patreons do not share Sargon of Akkads opinions, but I do believe many of us are concerned over how Patreon and PayPal are trying to silence him.
Hi Stefan, I get where you're coming from. But I am a bit cynical about this. PayPal and credit cards can still cut off payments and silence people even if they leave Patreon and take subscriptions directly via their website. We all saw that happen to WikiLeaks in 2010. So this isn't about evading censorship, so much as it is about punishing Patreon for deplatforming Sargon of Akkad. ie. it's political... Also, freedom of speech does not mean that you have the right to force a private company to host you. That is not how the market operates and so-called classical liberals like Sargon, Harris et al know it very well. My opinion is that they are leveraging Sargon's banning to play the victim dollar and boost their subscriptions. Anyway, I encourage folks to think carefully about it before making up their own minds.
Great Job Guys, And Lucy thank you for the intro, The Hot 30 with Matty Around Australia will continue to support the Juice media in 2019 as we grow to more stations in Aus and Around the World. But thatnks to FCC in America (yes we got here too) we have to unfortunately sensor some words. (just the rude ones)
Awesome thanks Matty & co!
Thanks for producing this video Giordano, it helped me to appreciate the work involved and was the reason I now signed up. As I commented on one of your earlier vids, a discussion on vaccine safety is very much needed. There is so much info on the direct affects (not side affects) of vaccines available in the public domain but if you need any assistance I will gladly help. Thank you.
You're very welcome! :)
I still miss the Rap-News days, Perhaps William de Berg needs to make a comback hey?
Hehe ja, I hope to reprise my role as Bill someday. Truth is I've just been really enjoying focusing on new stuff and the Honest Government Ads has been so rewarding. It's good to go where the heart leads! But I do hope to make more Rap News at some stage :)
Never bored with the Juice. Thanks so much for all the wonderful videos and being a wonderful creative thorn. Looking forward to more from you talented guys in the new year. I hope 2019 brings you everything you hope for and mor for you and you families.
a creative thorn - i like that! Thanks for supporting us here over the past year, Russell
I love your content and I hope your platform expands
Thanks Rashid - and cheers to that! Thanks for your support these past 9 months!
Oh hey! I just noticed that your new milestone was for a Juice Media podcast to accompany the Topic Au Month ... that's exciting! I hope you get there - I love a good podcast!
Yeah! I have never done one before but people keep asking why I don't do one... and the fact is, I don't have time! But with a few more resources I could bring on somebody else to help make it happen! Let's see how it goes :)
Here's to a good year coming up for you, your fam and the Juice!
And likewise to you Seana - thanks for all your support over the past years! Gx
Keep up your great work , I love it
with the support we're getting from people on Patreon I can honestly say - we will! :) G
Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, you guys are the best there is to resist this bunch of idiots we have running the country. And I mean both sides.....the best we can hope for us some kind of minority government like NZ currently has. I always share your vids and urge friends to support you but if the don’t get you, well they’re either too mean or they’re just lost anyways.
I do agree with you there! We have a federal election coming up very soon - lets hope 2019 is the year of independents here in Australia!
Keep it up and continue sending hope into the world.
Thanks Johan! You too :) Gx
Giordanna...supporting you on Patreon is the best way to spend taxpayers money! Being on a disability pension, I'm a burden to society apparently, and should just get off my arse and stop being disabled and pull my own weight. (meanwhile these bastards give billions in subsidies to corporations and tax breaks to their rich buddies). Love what you do..Like you say, $3 is just a cup of coffee. I don't miss that cup of coffee at all. What you are doing is so important and I'm chuffed that you are being financially supported by more and more people. I cried when you mentaioned the reddit guy. I had never heard his story. I have lots of ecologist/zoologist/botanist buddies who complain about journals getting money for their work, and that others have to pay for their papers. Most academics I know do it tough financially, and live with constant job insecurity. I look forward to what Juice Media create in 2019. Legends! <3
Wow thank you for this beautiful comment. And thank you so much for your support! It really inspires me to work harder knowing that someone on a disability pension feels what we do is valuable enough to support. (But please, don't stretch yourself if you are struggling with funds! Remember, you can always edit/cancel your pledge). I am also really glad that you learned about Aaron's story. There's a beautiful film about his life called The Internet's Own Boy - it's available for free, of course! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vz06QO3UkQ
The scary thing is that it's still funny after all this time. I get a laugh out of "Authorised by the department of genuine satire" after however many repetitions. So, best wishes for the new year and let's hope the government puts you out of business by becoming radically sane and sensible. (this message brought to you by the report saying "scientists are hopelessly optimistic" https://thespinoff.co.nz/science/29-12-2018/scientists-optimists/)
Hehe yeah! Thanks for your support Moz - and for the article, good read! Gx
