REFUTING THE RAPTURE
Today, I gave this message to the 1611 Fellowship. Next week we'll carry on with church history. (By the way, I posted this earlier today, but it seems to have disappeared, so I'm reposting.)

Actually I enjoy your long comments Roy, feels like I get a bonus sermon 🙏👍keep them coming lol
Lam 1:20, Deut 32:25, Ps 55:4
Job 20:14
Scripture teaches a first resurrection, as I believe you all know. For most of the history of the church that was what was taught. Today, most institutional church Christians are 'rapture-crazy.' As Adolph Hitler said, (I paraphrase) if you make the lie really big and keep repeating it, eventually people will believe it.
two ppl got baptised today i can barely breathe 🥳🙏😂especially after crying all over lamentations book last night. i thought to myself, if that book doesnt bring ppl to cry out for God's mercy, then what will?
Rapturists must have their imminent return doctrine. It's how they justify their "secret coming," allowing them (falsely) to break the first resurrection into two phases - a secret coming for believers and a second resurrection for the Jews ...very clever indeed, but no scripture to back it up.
"The Jews" . . that is a laughable historical and modern concept. Jesus destroyed Jerusalem (via the Roman Army). The survivors scattered through the world . . intermarried . . converted to other religions . . etc etc. Who are they? The people who call themselves Jews? People who grow their hair a certain way ? Cut their flesh a certain way? Wear the right hat? Walk to synagogue on Saturday? Live in a geographic territory and consider themselves atheists (if you believe most polls of citizens of Israel)? Are the citizens of Tel Aviv . the most homosexual city in the world by almost all accounts . . going to be raptured? Ridiculous. What did God do to Sodom and Gomorrah? Quite the opposite of a "rapture" as I recall.
Hi Roy, Indeed it is strong delusion.
Thank you Reg . . another great listen! I'll spare everyoneanother long comment on this topic (which is fun for me/not always for you guys) because I think it is enough to have people understand that "the Rapture" is a Jesuit-imagined doctrine and to ask anyone who still believes it . . .can good fruit come from a corrupt tree? Matt 7:18. Perhaps the final part of the great falling away will be when the Rapture never happens (see,eg., the Millerites and the Great Disappointment.)
(. . I can't help myself . . one more thing . . I speculate the Rapture lie is big part of the "strong delusion" sent by God near Christ's return "that they should beleeue a lye" 2 Thessalonians 2:11)
VERY relevant and edifying! Thank you.
