The way that Once Upon a December lives in my brain, it’s actually insane. I saw the musical version of Anastasia in Philly and I cried my eyes out during that song because it’s just so beautiful and perfect! And omgggg same re Dimitri! 🔥
Okay so the reason people thought Anastasia was still alive and the special one is because her body was buried in a different location from the rest of the family so everyone thought she got away (but then they found it years later). AND the crown that Dagmar wears looks like the Queen of Englands crown because it actually is the same one! It’s called “The Grand Duchess Vladimir Crown”. :)
I’m usually pretty good about setting aside facts and just enjoying a fiction story (I LOVE the Great on Hulu) but this movie was just way too much for me. I get why people enjoy it but as a Russian historian I just can’t with this one. 😫
Absolutely thought Demetri was hot AF when I was a kid.
my all time favorite movie 😭
omg yes! madame mim and the orphanage lady totally look alike!
Film review request - Disney’s Pocahontas 😂 insanely good songs, beautifully made, a fancy pug!…but historically inaccurate AF 😂 (Also, thanks for mentioning the Robin Hood fox thing - my husband refuses to believe it’s a real sexual awakening element for millennials, despite a mountain of evidence 🙈)
I second Pocahontas!!!
I second The Last Czars!
Okay 1000% with you on the sexual awakening by animated characters thing 🤣 Dimitri, Robin Hood fox, and for me, Tarzan lol. Side note — Have y’all watched The Last Czars on Netflix? I’d loooove a Nathan/Katy review of that one lol.
We might have already done that!
