Katy's Corner: Did Shakespeare write his plays? The Oxfordian theory
Hey queens, heyyy! Today I am putting on a tinfoil hat and talking about Shakespeare. There are so many theories that say William Shakespeare didn't write his own stuff and while it's probably all BS, who doesn't love a good conspiracy theory?
Today we're focusing on the Oxfordian Theory, which is the belief that Edward Devere, the 17th Earl of Oxford is the actual author of some if not all the words attributed to William Shakespeare.
Cheers!

Okay I’m convinced.
I'm not saying I'm just saying...
I love the idea of your shared journal!! How fun would it be to start one and we can all mail it to each other! lol.
Yay! So excited to listen!
Ooh, can’t wait to listen! There’s also a theory I really like that his historical plays are really about current events but disguised as history for safety. For example, Richard III was portrayed as an evil hunchback, and we now know he had scoliosis, which doesn’t look like kyphosis. But Elizabeth and James’ chief advisor, Robert Cecil, DID have kyphosis and was hated by many as cruel and ambitious. So Shakespeare wrote the play Richard III as current political commentary disguised as a lesson on the previous dynasty. I think this theory has a LOT of potential to be true. It would be even more fascinating if it were true AND someone else was writing for Shakespeare. Some disgruntled aristocrat saying what he wants to say, but keeping himself out of trouble with layers of subterfuge? One tin hat please, extra thick. 😂
Brooke I think you're really going to like this episode LOL
