SessionFlow 1.1 is here: your reports, fixed, and a first taste of map reveal
First, a confession
I kept a folder called "bug reports" and told myself I'd get to it right after the next feature. Then after the next one. By this month it had 57 threads in it, and some of you had reported the same thing twice, politely, months apart, which is the kindest way anyone has ever told me to hurry up.
So this update is that folder. Forty-one fixes, most of them straight from your reports, the rest things I found while I was in there and couldn't leave alone. No big new systems. And because I genuinely can't help myself, five small things you asked for.
SessionFlow 1.1 is available now for W&W Adventurer and W&W Arcane Circle members, inside Foundry as usual.
Five things you asked for
Gradual map reveal. Turn on fog for a map in the Cartographer and your players see nothing but the cover. Pick Reveal, drag a rectangle, and that part opens. Conceal takes it back, Undo undoes, Cover All and Reveal All do what they say. What the party has uncovered is saved per map and survives reloads and reconnects, and markers, labels and trails inside covered areas are simply not shown to players. Existing maps stay fully visible until you turn fog on, so nothing changes under your feet.
Now the honest part. I'm not fully satisfied with how revealing feels yet. Rectangles with a tool work, and they were the fastest way to get the feature into your hands with this release, but they're not what I picture when I imagine uncovering a map at the table. I said this release would stop at bug fixes, and it mostly did, except for this one, because the request was recent and I didn't want to make you wait another cycle. Consider it version one. Version two, with a reveal that feels the way it should, is what I'm working on next.
Maximize the player map. Players can now maximize the broadcast map on their own screen and restore it to where it was. Each player controls their own, and your updates to the map don't undo it.
Change music source. Music widget now has a Change Source button that reopens the track and playlist picker. Cancel keeps what you had, opening the picker never interrupts what's playing, and the new choice is used the next time you press Play. No more deleting a widget to swap a track.
Pin Inspiration open. Pin a board and it stops closing when you click elsewhere. Work the canvas, open a sheet, come back: still there. The pin is your own viewing preference, Close and Escape still work, and pinning gives nobody editing rights they didn't have.
Resize the Teleprompter. The reading window finally has a corner handle. It remembers the size per user and per widget, keeps your place in the text while you resize, and stays inside your screen.
The ones you reported
Beats and scenes that wouldn't reorder. Dragging works and the order sticks after a reload, in both Storyline layouts. I'm sorry it took until September.
PF2E damage rolls multiplying after opening panels. Opening SessionFlow panels was turning one roll into two, then three, and it got worse the longer you played. One roll per action now, tested twenty opens deep on PF2E with Dice So Nice on and off.
Hidden quests disappearing. They were never deleted; another module's global "hidden" style was hiding them from you too. Hidden quests stay visible to the GM, with their status, and stay out of player views and broadcasts.
Chronicle pages you couldn't manage in 3D. Page controls respond to clicks, Tab moves between them, and the Pages panel stays reachable and closes properly. You can also type on a page that has only an image, and a fitting image or text block no longer trips the "page full" warning.
Assets directories missing from file pickers. File browsing uses the configured picker, and the Create Folder dialog stays above SessionFlow instead of behind it.
Broken previews and upload-permission warnings. A failed upload no longer saves a broken preview path, a player without upload rights keeps a readable local preview, and stale previews recover.
Soundboard volume doing nothing. The Soundboard widget's slider now changes the volume of the cue that is playing, for you and for your players, without editing the sound in your Jukebox library. Half of this fix lives in Narrator's Jukebox 5.1.0, see below.
Scene Image and Characters widgets losing their scene inside GM Panels. They keep the intended scene now.
Panels jumping around when navigating. Panels reopen at their anchored position.
Export and Import going dead after one use. Export now goes through Foundry's own download helper, which behaves across browsers.
Scene pages you couldn't reach. Tab and Shift+Tab move between the scene anchor, the page tabs, Add and Close without getting stuck.
Chronicle entries not saving, or coming back from the dead. Player edits persist without a GM online, and deleting a Chronicle no longer lets a pending save bring it back.
Inspiration closing when you click away. That one became the Pin feature above.
The ones nobody reported
While I was in there, I kept finding things. Some had been quietly wrong for a long time.
Clicking inside a paragraph dropped the caret at the end of the text instead of where you clicked. My favourite kind of bug: the fix is one CSS rule.
First-line links in Paragraph widgets couldn't be clicked, because the widget header was sitting on top of them.
Link and Image dialogs opened behind SessionFlow, choosing an image closed the editor, and inserted images, links and tables didn't always survive a save.
The Source HTML view was unusable: no scrolling, no saving.
An unsaved Inspiration card edit was lost the moment a filter rebuilt the board.
Closing or removing a widget while its editor was still starting up left a ghost editor behind.
Prepared audio and scene ambience ignored the saved volume, including zero, which means "muted" wasn't.
A failed linked-scene character update showed a success message anyway.
A scene thumbnail that failed to load stayed broken instead of falling back to the scene background.
Clearing the session search and closing the panel left a hidden search field that ate your next Shift+S.
Two companions you'll want with this one
Several of the audio fixes have two halves:
Narrator's Jukebox 5.1.0, released just before this one together with the YouTube change (see that post). The fixes I had ready as 5.0.3 ride inside it: a muted cue stays muted (0 was being read as 80%). Stop wins against a cue that's still loading. Players who joined before clicking anything get their broadcast loops back through the usual audio unlock, at the level you set. A player's private preview is no longer swept away by your broadcast. And updating an ambience layer works even with all eight slots in use.
Exalted Scenes 7.1.1. Scene ambience starts at the volume you set for players, including zero, instead of starting at 80% and correcting a moment later, or not. A refused layer is reported instead of logged as a success.
Each module still works with the older versions of the others, you just don't get both halves of these fixes until all three are updated. Foundry offers the three inside the app.
Updating
Foundry will offer SessionFlow 1.1.0 inside the app on v13 and v14. Your sessions, beats, scenes, canvases and Chronicles stay exactly where they are.
New here? SessionFlow is part of Foundry's official premium content program: link your Patreon to your Foundry account once (foundryvtt.com, Edit Profile tab), then install it from Foundry's module browser like any other module. Available to W&W Adventurer and W&W Arcane Circle members.
Thank you
And map reveal version two is already on the desk.
With love, from one storyteller to another.
