Taylor Swift's Made Us An Anthem | Patient Zero Music Video
Taylor Swift - PATIENT ZERO | Music Video Reaction & Breakdown
We thought we knew what Taylor Swift meant by “Patient Zero.” Then she turned the song into a thriller ghost story warning against the dangers of abusive and narcissistic relationships.
In this episode of Hazed Reactions, we’re reacting to Taylor Swift’s Patient Zero music video, the visual companion to one of the four new songs from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.
And this video gives us A LOT to talk about.
From the very beginning, the music video feels completely different from the song itself. What initially sounds like a sharp, almost playful warning about being the first person to experience a man's toxicity becomes something much darker when Taylor places that story inside a cold, eerie world filled with death, decay, symmetry and psychological tension.
We break down the story of Dakota Johnson's character, Colin Farrell's increasingly sinister role as husband, and Taylor's mysterious presence throughout the video. As the pieces start coming together, we have to rethink why Taylor keeps appearing, what her relationship to this couple actually is, and what it means to be “Patient Zero.”
We also get into the visual storytelling throughout the video, including the repeated similarities between Taylor and Dakota, the wedding imagery, the poisoning, the cemetery, the cold and almost claustrophobic setting, and the way the video uses symmetry to connect the two women's stories.
And, of course, we have to talk about that reveal.
Taylor has described the video as drawing inspiration from gothic ghost stories, true crime and psychological thrillers, with the house itself serving as a metaphor for a relationship that has become cold, decayed and emotionally lifeless.
So does the music video actually change the meaning of the song?
Does Taylor's visual storytelling give us answers that the lyrics intentionally leave open-ended?
We're breaking it all down.
This is our reaction. What did YOU see in PATIENT ZERO?

It was filmed way before the wedding.
Great reaction guys
You do not need to explain yourselves to anyone. This is your channel and plenty of us like it the way it is. If they want a certain reaction they can start their own.
Karina you don’t have to explain. Literally every swiftie theorizes on the meaning of her songs, you don’t owe anyone an explanation or excuse, do what you want, and those support you will stay.
Yo may be amused by my alternative to "Cleveland!" Greenland! (By not Trump) To the tune of "Cleveland!" (Apologies to Taylor Swift) "He;s not as sane as he was but he was crazy before" "He was always a pervert and he married a -" "And with all of that money why does he smell like sh-?" "When he speaks it's annoying and have you heard him [Pre-Chorus] "Rambling mindlessly?" "Would you even call that talking?" I can't see what you mean But now I guess there's [Chorus] Something we all can agree on This POTUS knows what he wants, ho ho ho I already took over Greenland And gave them the frights, so hate all you like Power's the love of my life hee, hee, hee [Verse 2] My policies are abhorant but MAGA like that, They are happy I sold them a red hat. The White House was fine as it was But I changed that! [ Pre-Chorus] They all talk about my age And how they should have picked someone younger. I don't know what they mean But now I guess there's [Chorus] Something we all can agree on This POTUS knows what he wants, ho ho ho I already took over Greenland Now Iran's in my sights, so hate all you like Power's the love of my life hee, hee, hee [Post-Chorus] I like what I like what I like and I like ME! I like what I like what I like and I like ME! [Bridge] You only need to find enough people in this world Who can lie, cheat and rig an election And I have an important annoucement to make I found mine (that's right) I found windmill Biden nobody oranges (Don't mention Epstein). I found mine! [Chorus] Something we all can agree on This POTUS knows what he wants, ho ho ho I already took over Greenland Cuba is next in my sights, so hate all you like Power's the love of my life hee, hee, hee
Taylor gets so much hate I don’t blame her for not wanting to put her wedding pics out to be criticized!!!!! Love your reactions!!!!
(Typed before seeing the end of the video, lol). Taylor appears to have been able to materislise before Dakota at the party/reception/presentation. When on the car Taylor's dress is covering the driver's side blocking Colin's view to cause an accident from which one or none survived. Taylor lets us have the ability to have our own ending. Naming a living person as an abuser on the basis of a song or movie can be extremely dangerous and ruin lives.
Great reaction, great video. The BTS is also amazing.Patient Zero (Expanded Video)
