This Was Drake’s LAST Warning… and He Missed It | 6:16 In LA | Kendrick VS Drake
Welcome back to Hazed Reactions for Part 6 of our Kendrick vs Drake breakdown series — and this is where everything shifts.
Today we’re reacting to and breaking down “6:16 in LA” by Kendrick Lamar, the second track in his back-to-back response after “Euphoria” aimed directly at Drake.
This isn’t just another diss track… this is a warning.
👀 WHAT WE COVER IN THIS EPISODE:
Kendrick flipping Drake’s timestamp format (6:16 in LA 👀)
The deeper meaning behind the title and release timing
The layered sample connection to Al Green
Producer talk (yes… we had to mention Jack Antonoff again 😅)
Kendrick’s quintuple entendres right out the gate
The meaning behind:
“I live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star”
“Who am I if I don’t go to war?”
Kendrick’s internal conflict vs calculated restraint
The callout of DJ Akademiks and media influence
The OVO betrayal angle 👀 (“they might be working for me…”)
Why this song feels like a message, not just a diss
Debate time: Is this Kendrick’s most straightforward diss or his most strategic?
🧠 OUR TAKE:
This track feels like Kendrick stepping back… not because he has to, but because he’s deciding how far he’s willing to go.
The beat is minimal. The delivery is controlled. The tone? Calculated.
He’s not trying to out-rap Drake here.
He’s letting him know:
“I know more than you think I know.”
🔥 SERIES CONTEXT:
If you’ve been watching from the beginning, thank you for sticking with us as we built up to this point. The first few episodes were all about context…
But now?
We’re officially in the part of the Kendrick vs Drake beef where things escalate FAST.
💬 JOIN THE CONVERSATION:
Do you think this was Kendrick’s most dangerous track so far?
Is this a warning… or already a checkmate move?
Do you believe Kendrick actually had inside information?

EMINEM AND MGK BEEF WAS FUCKING EPIC! Just saying........ lmao! I LOVE Eminem! Cleanin Out My Closet, ANY song to his daughter is amazing, jeeze, I may start listening to Eminem on repeat for a bit now lmao
Another great break down! One thing I can’t stop wondering about…Drake asked Kendrick for quintuple entendres…and then said “some shit I don’t even understand”. And that was after accusing Kendrick of needing permission from TS and that he needs “Ant”enof available to produce. So the way that 6:16 in LA is structured as a teaching moment to a child with deep themes and musicality instead of a catchy bop is, in itself, part of the diss. It’s just a thought I had while watching yall.
I only knew Zach Bia existed because Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo is supposed to be about him.
