Don't buy any of the shit you hear about AI becoming super advanced. It's all the companies making AI trying to make themselves sound like they're important when they're burning a ton of money on a technology that people don't want.

Johnnny Big ReBoot fan here! Tony Jay voiced Megabyte in ReBoot, not Tim Curry. Still a really good show. The pivot in tone you talk about in this podcast was because during the first season the censors were all up in their business, but they were able to change from episodic to a more ongoing story at the end of the first season. "The Crazy Story of ReBoot & Its Multiple Cancellations" by youtuber Toy Galaxy does a good rundown of the weird circumstances of the show.

Yo the plugins and stuff in shit like Premiere is usually ML not AI. The distinction is blurred because techbros would rather have you believe that everything is Gen AI. A pattern recognition program looking for ums in an audio recording or messy background details is not AI, just ML. More fucked up is that the shit that everyone calls AI (like Google search, ChatGPT etc) is not AI. LLMs are an inefficient form of ML that doesn't work very well but it "looks" cool so it sells. Sort of. No one's making money, but it sells. That's why it needs so much memory and datacentre space and shit incidentally because LLMs are so *incredibly* inefficient they need an entire farm's worth of DC to do the simplest of things. You're fine to process audio it's okay. Use DuckDuckGo with "AI" turned off if you want good (sort of) search results (pay for Kagi and turn "AI" off if you ACTUALLY want good search results)
