Cemu Android v0.3.1 Dual-Screen Support + Versioning Update
Version 0.3.1 is now available.
Download here:
https://github.com/SapphireRhodonite/Cemu/releases/tag/0.3.1
This release integrates all current changes from the Android upstream branch and adds dual-screen compatibility on top of it. This marks an important step forward for Cemu on Android, especially for devices with multiple displays.
What’s New
Android Upstream Sync
This version is fully synced with the latest Android upstream Cemu branch. All fixes, improvements, and updates from upstream are included as the base for this release.
Dual-Screen Support
Added support for dual-screen Android devices.
Proper GamePad rendering on a secondary display.
Improved screen routing and presentation handling for multi-display setups.
This lays the groundwork for better multi-screen experiences on Android going forward.
Versioning Change Explained
Starting with this release, Cemu Android follows the versioning of the Android upstream branch.
The base version number matches the Android upstream version.
The last digit is incremented to represent additional changes from this branch on top of upstream.
Example:
Android upstream: 0.3.0
This branch: 0.3.1, 0.3.2, etc.
This makes it easier to understand what comes from upstream and what is added or modified here.
Notes
This release is about alignment, stability, and setting a solid base.
Future updates will continue building on top of the Android upstream branch, with more improvements to dual-screen behavior, input handling, and overall performance.
As always, thank you for the support and feedback. It really helps push these projects forward.

On the ayaneo pocket ds, the top display is treated as the external display and bottom is treated as primary, and there is no option to change this. This creates issues because the external display defaults to show the gamepad screen, which requires you to tap the swap screens option every time a game is launched. Additionally after tapping the swap screens the touch interactions don't line up. This is as the latest version 0.5.2. I like the addition of haptic feedback, but I'll be sticking with ver 0.0.3.
hi i have the issue that the moment i put the duped files for online play into the emulator it seems to break it commpley like it crashes on the account screen and the moment the otp and seeprom files are in the emu refuses to even startup i can confirm the files are working as they work on the pc version of cemu
Hiiii a new version is dropping soon, some days left for it to release!!!, the onlyne has bugs as well I will check them to see what is wrong
Hello, if you tap the trash can icon in the game path settings does this delete the folder and roms? i was scared if i tap id lose all my files
would you update it to cemu 0.5?
Yup!!!, in some days!
Was there an update released that works for the Odin 2 (original) and the Retroid Dual Screen? Checking various boxes doesn't separate the screens and only mirrors.
In the next version 0.5 will get this solved
I just installed this on a fresh Thor that was delivered 2 days ago and whenever I attempt to add the Linkle Shader Packs for both Twilight Princess HD & Wind Waker HD CEMU fails to boot past the inital startup screen until I delete those shader packs off of my device. Could you look into that perhaps?
such a good fork, is there any chance of a "recenter motion controls" button, or something similar? the built in button for splatoon doesn't work, because the position of gamepad is read incorrectly as being pointed toward the ground on my device.
Yeah same issue in Nintendo Land for example, some kind of gyro reset button or something would be pretty sweet.
Just so you're aware of Star Fox zero does not work on this release on the Thor. I also tried Mr purple's t26 driver and it's still crashes after about 30 seconds of gameplay in the intro no matter what settings I tweak in CEMU
I second this. Mine crashes in about the same time on the AYN Thor. Also using Mr Purple drivers but tried on the default as well. I also have super garbled static for audio. This could be the best way to play this game so I hope this can be fixed. Thanks for all your hard work!
Any chance of adding OpenGL as a graphic renderer option? I'm reading that this solves the Twilight Princess HD slowdown that occurs in a few areas during gameplay such as Link's house and Upper Zora's river. Emulator is awesome on AYN Thor with the dual screens. You guys are killing it.
I seem to be having this issue where i cannot launch CEMU games from ES-DE with this fork of CEMU if you have any ESDE Custom/Find Rules XML Files that you are using with a current working Example that would be fantastic ChatGPT is telling me this fork is limited and does not have that functionality: Which is called FIle Intent?
Its the same as the official one, I didn't change the package name, but let me take a look in es-de and I will be back at you!
Superb work and it's about time I supported your awesome efforts in the DS emulation scene. I also experience the frozen bottom (external) screen on the Thor if Cemu loses focus or if I put the device in sleep. Toggling Show PAD fixes bottom screen functionality until the next time focus is lost. This is absolutely an improvement over the games restarting!
I installed this update, and not only is dual-screen support GONE, but the side bar thing that you swipe right from the left of the screen to bring up is also gone.
I completely uninstalled and reinstalled and these issues still persist. A new problem im getting now is that most of my games are now just crashing the moment I select them.
I have a question: The forks from melonds and cemu are made only by you, or by the entire iisu team?
Only by me, the iiSU team don't work on any of my forks; those are mine entirely!
Hey, I have an important question too ask... When will this project be effective for external display devices like the DNA Duo or Retroid DS Attachment?
You can use it right now! It's compatible!
I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the new Cemu release just in case that caused some weirdness, but on my Ayn Thor I noticed that (Thankfully) the game doesn't restart anymore after closing the lid and opening it again, but the bottom screen appears to stay frozen on what it was displaying before closing the lid. The only settings I changed regarding screen were Show PAD and External PAD Screen, where I enabled both, so I'm not sure if I need to be tweaking some other settings. But otherwise, I'm glad I can at least play the games uninterrupted!
I will look into this issue. Thanks for letting me know!
I'm using an AYN Thor and this update seems to have broken the previously functioning dual screen support in the last version - nothing is displayed on the bottom screen anymore, and the swipe menu from swiping left can no longer be opened.
Please erase data. A lot has changed!
Lets Go! Nice Work the Emulation Community wouldn't be the same without you
