Chap 203: The Beginning of the End

The creators…

They towered over entire landscapes—beings so tall they had to kneel just to look down at something human-sized. Their forms weren’t fully solid, shifting between matter and energy, like reality struggled to define them.

Each carried a staff.

Not for balance.

For sorcery.

For control.

They moved from planet to planet—not destroying… not saving…

But preparing.

Energy poured from them.

Not light.

Not magic.

Life.

Beings formed from that energy—shaped, placed, guided.

Then—

The Alpha Seal.

It unfolded across space like a massive construct.

Not just a seal.

A gateway.

A vessel.

A system.

It opened—

And the energy beings flowed through it.

Transferred.

Directed.

Sent toward—

Earth.

Tee’s eyes widened.

“…we were never meant to be alone…”

Then everything broke.

War.

Sudden.

Violent.

The Alpha Seal cracked—its structure destabilizing as energy spilled out uncontrollably.

Ether flooded everywhere.

Uncontained.

Wild.

It didn’t disappear—

It bonded.

With the planet.

With life.

With everything.

The “virus.”

Tee understood instantly.

It was never meant to be a disease.

It was control.

A system designed to overwrite life.

To prepare the Earth.

To make it ready.

But when the Alpha Seal broke—

It failed.

Corrupted.

Twisted.

Turned into mutation.

Pain.

Chaos.

Then—

The Omega Stone.

Floating.

Watching.

Holding.

Not just power.

But them.

The ones meant to come first.

Stored.

Waiting.

Trapped.

The voices surged again—

But now she understood.

They weren’t just attacking.

They were defending.

A failsafe.

The energy beings inside the stone rejecting her.

Tearing at her mind because she wasn’t one of them.

Because she wasn’t meant to wield it.

Her thoughts raced.

Everything connecting.

Too fast.

Too clear.

The Sentinels—

Not chosen.

Not special.

Just… affected.

Fragments of a broken system.

An accidental resistance.

Ultramana—

Not just power.

A weapon.

A birthright meant for something else.

Leaked when the system failed.

Now controlled by the planet itself.

The Lifestream.

Alive.

Watching.

Adapting.

Wanting to make sense of it all, Tee opened herself further—allowing her Verge to connect, not just forward… but across.

Other versions of her answered.

Faint.

Fading.

The few that were left.

They didn’t speak in full sentences—only fragments, emotions, conclusions already reached.

But it was enough.

They showed her the end.

And in every path that remained—

The answer was the same.

To truly save everyone…

Earth had to be destroyed.

The visions sharpened.

The Creators revealed themselves more clearly.

Towering beings—so vast they had to kneel just to look down at something human-sized. Their forms shimmered between energy and matter, and each carried a staff—not for support, but as a conduit for sorcery.

They were not invaders in the way humans understood.

They were architects.

They moved from planet to planet, transferring life not through birth, but through energy. Entire populations reduced to pure essence—stored, carried, and redeployed.

The Alpha Seal was central to the process.

Not just a seal—

A gateway.

A vessel.

A system designed to transport these energy-based lives across worlds.

Earth had been one of their destinations.

A world meant to be prepared.

Rewritten.

Occupied.

But something had gone wrong.

War had broken the system before it could be completed.

The Omega Stone pulsed in her hand.

Now she understood.

It wasn’t just a source of vast Ether.

It was a storage.

A container holding the very energy—the people—who were meant to arrive first.

Waiting.

Preserved.

Trapped.

And the voices attacking her—

They were them.

A defense mechanism.

A collective will lashing out against an unauthorized user.

The Creators wanted it back.

Not just for its power—

But for what it held.

Tee’s mind raced as everything aligned.

These beings weren’t bound to physical bodies the way humans were. Their true form was energy—conscious, enduring. What she had seen as “bodies” were merely constructs… shells they could rebuild again and again.

They did not die easily.

They did not fade quickly.

They endured.

The system was never meant to fail.

The Alpha Seal and the Omega Stone were meant to work together.

The Omega Stone held the stored lives—the advance force.

The Alpha Seal acted as the gateway, dispersing them across a planet to prepare it for the others who would follow.

Earth was supposed to be transformed.

But the war changed everything.

When the Alpha Seal was damaged, its control system broke.

The “virus” that spread across Earth was never meant to harm.

It was meant to control.

To overwrite.

To unify all life under one directive.

But instead, it corrupted.

Mutated.

Turned unstable.

And when the spilled Ether bonded with the planet itself—

The Lifestream awakened.

Alive.

Reactive.

Resisting.

Time itself had been distorted by all of this.

Because of the immense distances, the war, and the pathways through space—what felt like thousands of years to humans was, in reality, a much shorter gap for the Creators.

They were not far behind.

They had never been.

And humanity could never reach them in return—any attempt would mean traveling backward along those distortions… to a time before they even existed.

The Sentinels…

Tee finally understood.

They were not chosen.

Not special.

Just… affected.

Fragments of the broken system that had manifested differently.

Resistance born from corruption.

Random.

Uncontrolled.

Ultramana was never meant for them either.

It was a power—something like a birthright weapon—intended for specific energy-beings within that system.

But when everything collapsed, it leaked.

Merged with Ether.

And eventually fell under the influence of the planet itself.

And then came the final piece.

The reason the Creators hadn’t already arrived.

Other timelines.

Other versions of her.

She saw them clearly now.

In those timelines, she had found a cure.

Saved humanity.

Healed the world.

And in doing so—

She completed what the system had failed to do.

She made Earth ready.

And that…

brought the Creators faster.

But in this timeline—

That hadn’t happened.

Not yet.

If the Alpha Seal was destroyed first, there would be a delay.

A small one.

But a delay nonetheless.

Tee’s breath slowed.

Everything had fallen into place.

Clear.

Unavoidable.

They were still coming.

And no cure—

no matter how perfect—

would save humanity from what was coming next.

Tee finally understood.

Her future selves had made it clear.

The Creators’ coming would be fast. So fast that no grand elders would remain to report back through the planet’s Verge. But she—special—could travel back in time, in her own Verge, to give warnings. Even with her last breath.

Still holding the stone, Tee felt the weight of inevitability. There was no reasoning. No debate. No choice but to act. She had the power, and she would do it.

Saeda’s eyes locked on her. Realization dawned.

“Tee—stop! Don’t touch it!”

Kie tried, desperately, reconnecting their telepathic link.

Tee’s voice came back to him, calm, chilling.

“The Harbingers… aren’t the enemy.”

Saeda didn’t listen. She blasted Tee.

Tee fired first.

A beam tore through her teammate. Blood splattered the space Saeda had occupied.

Kie’s mind screamed. The elder’s prophecy echoed. Tee would betray them.

But something strange happened. For the first time, he could see her intentions through the mind link.

Every version of Tee—every timeline—was going to do something catastrophic with the Omega Stone.

But he loved the world more than her.

And he had to act.

Tears streamed down his face as he blasted her with everything he had.

Then Lilith struck. Energy ripped from her wing tips, slamming Kie sideways.

Tee staggered.

The moment the stone left her grasp, understanding hit her.

He didn’t choose her.

He never would.

The blast cut deep, piercing her chest. Pain. Sharp. Unforgiving.

The Omega Stone reacted—disappearing in a pulse of energy.

Alien voices screamed inside her mind, backlashes tearing her Verge apart. Forcing her out.

Behind her, the Harbingers continued their assault.

Miko teleported, catching Saeda mid-fall on a floating construct of energy. She wasn’t surprised Tee had done what she did—but instinct demanded defense. She conjured an energy orb around them, shielding against the blood-bending Harbinger.

Tee, wounded, slumped to her knees on an energy construct. Her mind splintered.

The alien voices clawed at her consciousness, screaming in impossible tongues. Logic shattered. She could barely think.

Still, she forced herself upright.

“What have you done?!” she shouted, pain shredding her voice.

Her gaze flicked to the Creators—the truth.

Kie’s mind screamed at her, while Lilith pressed her assault.

“What the hell were you doing?!”

“I think her mind’s corrupted,” Zod said, blasting a faint blue beam at a Harbinger.

Tee realized a bitter truth. They never trusted her. Not fully. Memories flashed—when they thought she was a Harbinger, when they tried to kill her without reasoning.

She couldn’t open her Verge anymore. Panic fluttered.

But she didn’t need to. She had enough power from the Omega Stone.

Ether was enough.

“This is the side I belong on,” Tee said aloud, her voice steady.

Kie realized with horror—she was gone. Disconnected. He could not reach her.

Tee’s voice hardened.

“I am right. I will purge the pain from this world. Permanently.”

And then…

She transformed.

White Ether erupted like wildfire. Four massive wings tore from her back, blackened at the base but glinting with jagged metal edges. Her long silver hair whipped wildly, moving as if alive, slithering around her like serpents. Her eyes glowed cold and unyielding. Her eyebrows twisted into sharp, predatory arcs that cut across her face. Her lips peeled back, revealing teeth that gleamed like shards of steel—too many, too sharp, too wrong. Every breath she drew rattled the air, low and hungry, as if the world itself feared what had just awakened.

“Without me, you’re stuck here, fools! I know where the Omega Stone went—so all is not lost!”

A sudden blow struck her head—another mind attack. How? The stone wasn’t in her hand.

Zod seized his chance. A beam ripped into her chest.

Payback.

Lilith knocked Zod unconscious, vanishing into a black cloud.

Sade fired a lightning ball from both hands at the orb encasing Miko and Saeda. It shattered. Both plummeted.

Kie saw Tee plummeting and instantly formed energy constructs beneath his feet, surging forward to catch her.

Sade vanished through a red vortex, snatching Tee mid-fall. Together, they soared skyward.

Tee glanced down. The massive energy orb was gone.

The monsters that had once trailed it were now free.

Chaos was unbound.

Tee knew what she had to do. Her Verge was sealed. Sorcery was impossible.

Sade tore a rift in the Veil—a hairline slit, no larger than a nail. Tee’s Ether erupted, expanding it.

She hovered at the heart of the widening breach. Stadium-sized. Still stretching, still tearing reality itself apart.

Sade gripped her left hand, anchoring her against the void.

“Do it,” Tee whispered, her voice rasping. “I won’t resist.”

He bit her neck. Symbols flared across her body, burning white-hot before shattering into shards of light.

“Become a god of destruction,” he intoned—a voice only ever heard once in a blue moon.

Her eyes went black. The energy around her detonated like a miniature sun. Sade vanished through a vortex, leaving only devastation in his wake. Kie, reaching for her, was caught in the shockwave. His constructs exploded midair. His chance to save her was gone.

Below, Saeda cradled Miko, frozen. Blue light flickered in Saeda’s eyes as her powers surged back, but Miko couldn’t tear her gaze from the gaping rift above. The ground trembled beneath them. The first wave of flying beasts poured through, their shrieks cutting across the storm.

The rift above widened, bending the sky itself. Lightning arced through torrential rain. Reality ripped open.

Cities were obliterated in moments. Skyscrapers twisted, molten glass spilling like rivers, metal beams snapping and spinning into the chaos. Streets cracked, subway tunnels swallowed cars whole, and emergency lights flickered like dying stars.

The MegaSapian spread her massive wings, dark and leathery, jagged metallic edges glinting as lightning danced across the stretched membranes. Each powerful beat sent shockwaves through the air, rattling buildings and scattering debris like leaves in a gale.

She hovered over the destruction, surveying the chaos she now commanded. Flames licked the horizon, smoke clawing skyward. Civilians screamed as MG officers drew their giant swords, bracing against a terror beyond comprehension.

Monstrous shapes—winged, scaled, armored—raced through the rift. They struck buildings, tearing them apart with talons and teeth, shrieking in wild delight. Energy discharges collided with collapsing concrete and steel, sending shockwaves that shattered every window and rattled every beam.

Her black, unblinking eyes observed it all. Calm. Cold. Unforgiving.

That was only the beginning.
