Chap 202: The Creators
What began as a soft, grounding hug turned into something neither of them had planned.
Their lips met.
Slow. Deep. All-consuming.
For a moment, everything else disappeared—the valley, the monsters, the screams, the heat. All of it faded into distant, muted noise.
Tee’s fingers slid into Kie’s hair, gripping tighter than she meant to. Kie’s arms wrapped around her, firm, anchoring, like if he let go for even a second, she might vanish.
Every breath felt louder. Every heartbeat heavier.
It was reckless.
It was real.
And then—
Tee’s eyes widened slightly.
That was…
A quiet realization crept in.
That was a goodbye kiss.
Her chest tightened.
She felt something reaching for her head and shifted aside, putting space between them. A small black claw missed her and fell to the ground. Tee’s eyes flickered past Kie’s shoulder as she lifted her gaze upward and enhanced it with Ether.
The barrier they had passed through—
A thin fracture had formed.
It spread.
Fast.
Like glass under pressure.
And through that fracture—
Black-filled eyes stared back.
Still.
Watching.
She gasped.
Tee pulled away sharply.
Her breath came uneven now, her hand instinctively rising to Kie’s cheek.
“We should… save this,” she said softly, forcing steadiness into her voice. “For after we complete the mission.”
Kie blinked, caught off guard.
He let out a quiet breath, almost a laugh, shaking his head slightly.
“Yeah… yeah. Good idea.”
But his gaze lingered.
“What just came over me…?”
Realizing she heard that, he calmed his mind. No time to process.
The orb shifted.
The space around them unfolded.
Not like a room.
Not like anything that should exist.
They stepped forward—and the world stretched.
Walls curved in impossible angles, folding into themselves like they were alive. Surfaces shimmered between solid and liquid, reflecting not just their bodies—but fragments of movement that hadn’t happened yet.
Tee felt it immediately.
That place was not empty.
It was aware.
They moved deeper.
The structure pulsed faintly, like a heartbeat buried in the walls. Strange formations rose around them—part organic, part metallic—twisting upward like skeletal remains of something that had once been alive… or still was.
Then—
They entered it.
A massive chamber.
And everything stopped.
Millions of tiny lights floated in the air.
Stars.
Endless.
Suspended across the vast space, stretching beyond sight. The ground beneath them reflected it all, making it feel like they stood in the middle of a universe.
No sound.
No movement.
Just quiet.
Zod exhaled slowly. “...Okay. That’s—”
“Beautiful,” Miko whispered.
Tee stepped forward slightly, her eyes wide.
It felt peaceful.
Wrongly peaceful.
Then—
The stars moved.
Not drifting.
Not random.
They shifted—precise, deliberate.
Tee’s breath caught.
“They’re not stars…”
The lights began to cluster.
Stretch.
Form.
Some elongated into shapes—limbs, wings, eyes that weren’t quite eyes. Others condensed into floating figures, tall and slender, their forms made entirely of shifting light.
All of them moved at once.
All of them watched.
The Sentinels reacted instantly.
Energy flared.
Hands lit up.
Swords formed—Ultramana constructs solidifying in glowing edges.
Zod’s telekinesis lifted debris instinctively, hovering it around him.
Saeda’s shield snapped into place.
Kie’s eyes locked forward, already linking minds—
Stay sharp.
Then—
A voice.
Not one.
Many.
Layered.
“What… have you done…”
The light-forms fully emerged.
Dozens.
Hundreds.
Each different in shape—but speaking as one.
“We are… the Sentinels of Light.”
“Guardians of the Core.”
“Keepers of Omega.”
Their voices echoed not through the air—but through thought.
Tee felt it pressing against her mind.
“You have opened the way.”
“Dark follows.”
The lights shifted.
At the far center of the chamber—
It was there.
The Omega Stone.
Floating.
Radiating.
White—yet filled with shifting colors beneath its surface. Like compressed reality. Like a diamond forged from existence itself.
Around it, more stars gathered.
Denser.
Protective.
Preparing.
Then—
Everything shattered.
The ceiling cracked open.
A violent explosion of dark energy ripped through the chamber.
The stars scattered violently.
Light Sentinels recoiled.
And from above—
They came.
The Harbingers.
Twelve of them.
Descending like nightmares made flesh.
They didn’t land on ground.
There was no ground.
Instead, each created footing midair—
Platforms of dark mana.
Liquid metal.
Solidified void.
They stood above the battlefield.
Changed.
Evolved.
Tee’s eyes widened.
She didn’t recognize them at first.
Then—
Sade stepped forward.
Still human in shape.
But wrong.
Black-filled eyes with a single glowing orange point burning within. Dark veins spread across his face like cracks and longer silver hair down to his waist.
Lilith hovered beside him. Four massive wings extended, each edged with sharpened metal. Thick horns adorned her head with sharp grooves. Her body twisted, elongated, claws dragging through the air like blades.
The others moved.
One with a massive floating eye rotating around it.
Another bending its own black blood into spears.
One flickered—invisible—only visible to Tee.
Another with liquid metal arms shifting constantly.
Behind them—
A towering alien construct.
A mech-like entity, pulsing with fragment energy.
“More Harbingers?” Zod thought.
Kie summoned an Ultramana sword. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Deep growls filled their telepathic link as they readied for combat.
Unbeknownst to the Sentinels, their actions had already set something far more dangerous into motion.
When Tee revealed the Omega stone, its energy didn’t simply remain contained—it rippled outward. Across realms. Across barriers once thought impenetrable.
And it was felt.
Sade… and Ophionis.
Harbingers who had long been attuned to the scattered fragments of the Alpha Seal sensed it immediately—the unmistakable signature of the Omega stone.
That was not the first time.
They had found it before.
And failed.
Each encounter had ended the same way. The Stone retreated beyond their reach, protected by a barrier of raw Ether—ancient, dense, and reinforced by chants far older than any of them. A defense not meant to repel force alone, but to reject their very nature.
Dark mana and Ether did not coexist peacefully.
To them, touching it was not just difficult—it was pain.
Corruption.
Resistance.
To wield Ether to perform sorcery, a Vergant Harbinger would have to suppress their own dark mana, strip it back, convert it… a process far too slow and unstable in the midst of battle. Enough to make them vulnerable.
Enough to fail again.
So they did not force it.
Not that time.
Because that time… something had changed.
Tee.
Through her, the Omega Stone had not only been revealed—
It had been anchored.
For the first time, its location did not flicker, vanish, or reset beyond the veil.
It stayed.
And that made all the difference.
Because the Omega stone was more than just a reservoir of immense Ether.
It was a convergence point.
A force capable of drawing every fragment of the Alpha Seal back together.
Only then—only when made whole—could the Alpha Seal be truly destroyed.
Or worse…
Controlled.
And in the wrong hands, the Omega stone itself posed an even greater threat. Its vast Ether reserves were enough to reshape battlefields… or erase them entirely.
The Harbingers understood that.
They could not take it directly.
But they didn’t need to.
Not anymore.
Because now—
They had a vessel.
Tee.
Sade smiled.
“Fools.”
His voice echoed cleanly that time.
“Dark mana fills the very air in this realm.”
He stepped forward.
“You are not winning this.”
And then—
Everything exploded into motion.
The Light Sentinels surged forward.
The Harbingers met them head-on.
The Sentinels jumped into the air—
Constructs forming beneath their feet.
Platforms of energy.
Steps.
Fragments of solid Ether.
The battlefield became vertical.
Chaotic.
Zod launched first.
Solid matter tore from the structure around them, spinning violently before launching like missiles. Mid-flight, he split them, redirected them, smashing multiple targets at once.
A Harbinger caught one.
Disintegrated it with a touch.
Zod cursed. “Yeah—didn’t like that plan anyway!”
Miko vanished.
Reappeared midair.
Her blade spun—an energy disc forming, slicing through a cluster of light-star constructs that had turned hostile.
She phased through a returning attack, reappearing behind a Harbinger—
And blasted it point-blank.
It didn’t fall.
It smiled.
Saeda’s shield expanded—catching a rain of black blood projectiles midair. The liquid hissed against it, eating at the surface.
“I can’t hold this for long!”
Kie stepped forward.
His energy flared—blue, sharp, controlled.
Construct steps formed rapidly beneath his feet as he moved forward through the air, weaving between attacks. His blade extended—glowing brighter—
He slashed—
A wave of energy tore through multiple enemies.
But more came from above.
Always more.
Tee moved.
Different.
Faster.
Her Ether burned white.
Pure.
She didn’t use constructs the same way.
She bent space slightly—shifting position between steps instead of relying fully on them.
A Harbinger turned invisible.
She saw it anyway.
“Zod, behind you!” she shouted in her mind.
Zod reacted instantly—blasting backward with a kick-propelled energy burst.
Explosion.
The invisible figure flickered into view.
The battle escalated.
Explosives detonated midair.
Energy storms clashed.
A tornado of Ether spiraled upward before Tee released it—blasting waves outward.
The Light Sentinels fought alongside them—
But they were losing ground.
The Harbingers were stronger there.
Faster.
Relentless.
Through the chaos—
Tee saw it.
The Omega Stone.
Still there.
Waiting.
She moved.
Everything else faded.
She landed on a narrow construct platform just before it.
A Light Sentinel formed in front of her.
“You must not.”
Its voice echoed through her mind.
“The Core will be moved.”
“Protection protocol—initiated.”
Glyphs began forming in the air.
Spinning.
Aligning.
Teleportation.
Tee’s heart dropped.
“No—wait—”
“If it falls, all falls.”
“It will be removed.”
Tee clenched her fist.
“No.”
Her Ether flared violently.
She blasted forward, shattering the Light Sentinels around the stone.
The glyphs fractured.
Collapsed.
The teleportation stopped.
Silence hit her ears.
The battle raged behind her—
But there—
It was just her.
And the stone.
Floating.
Calling.
Her hand slowly reached forward.
Across the battlefield—
Saeda froze.
Her body went still mid-combat.
Her eyes widened.
A vision hit.
Clear.
Sharp.
Tee.
Standing where she was now.
Holding the Omega Stone.
Her voice—
Cold.
Distant.
“I will destroy this world.”
Darkness spread outward consuming everything.
Not destroying.
Erasing.
As if nothing had ever existed.
Saeda gasped.
The vision snapped.
Saeda looked over at Tee and her heart dropped.
Same position.
Same reach.
The exact moment from her vision.
“Tee—don’t—!”
Too late.
Tee took the stone.
It hit her instantly.
Not like energy.
Not like power.
Like something alive had grabbed her mind.
Voices crashed into her all at once—overlapping, clashing, speaking in languages that didn’t exist. They weren’t meant to be understood… only felt.
Loud.
Violent.
Endless.
Strange structures formed around her vision—blinding shapes of light merging into one another, twisting, breaking apart, reforming again. Faces appeared for a split second—then stretched into symbols—then shattered into noise.
Something grabbed her.
Not physically.
Deeper.
Disconnecting her from Kie’s telepathic link. But he was too busy in battle to be concerned with it.
They pulled at her thoughts, clawing, tearing—trying to peel her apart.
Trying to overwrite her.
Erase her.
Replace her.
Tee’s grip faltered.
Her thoughts scattered.
I...
Then visions forced its way through.
A Xeno-victim.
Blood.
Pain—
Hands shaking… tearing off their crest.
Then relief and smiles.
Another.
A crowd.
Mid-Guard buildings burning.
Flames rising into the sky.
People screaming and throwing stones.
Spitting on MG officials.
Faces once twisted with anger smiled and laughed with joy… then something else.
Freedom.
Tee’s breath came back in a sharp pull.
Her fingers tightened around the stone.
“No…”
Her voice trembled.
“I didn’t come this far…”
The voices screamed louder—pressing harder against her mind.
“…to be erased.”
Her Ether flared.
White.
Unstable.
Burning.
“I have a purpose.”
The pressure cracked slightly.
“I’m not like them.”
Her eyes began to glow.
“I’m a Xeno-victim…”
The tearing slowed.
“…and a Sentinel.”
The space around her warped as her energy surged outward.
“And I’m not stopping here.”
The attack didn’t stop.
It changed.
The tearing became… opening.
And suddenly—
She could see.
Worlds.
Massive.
Silent.
Waiting.
Then—
Them.
The Creators.
Tee’s breath caught.
