⚔️ Stylish Action HUD v3.0.0: GM HUD and Starfinder 2e Support
v3.0.0 adds a private GM token list and Starfinder 2e support, plus optional action and movement tracking for PF2e and SF2e. The update also expands HUD layout controls, category search, spell information, and tooltips.
📋 GM Token List
Turn on GM List On/Off (GM) in the token controls, select tokens on the map, and press + to add them. Each scene keeps a separate list, visible only to the GM who made it.
Cards use the Party HUD theme and tracked attributes. Click to select a token or double-click to open its sheet. Editing an unlinked token's card changes only that token.
Compact Mode keeps small cards that expand on hover. Layout mode controls the list's position, scale, and how many cards appear before scrolling.
🖱️ Move and Resize on Screen
Hold and drag the Party HUD to move it, or drag an invisible corner handle to resize the Party HUD or Action Menu. Stack layout resizes the party as a group; Free layout resizes individual cards.
Direct size and position changes are saved for your own screen. Press Escape to cancel a drag; changes made in layout edit mode apply with Save.
↔️ Independent Mirroring
Mirror Action Menu in the Action Menu tab and Mirror Party HUD in the Card tab work independently across all eight themes.
Each panel remembers its normal and mirrored placement and size. Automatic submenus prefer the right when the Action Menu is mirrored; an explicit submenu-side setting takes priority.
🔎 Search Every Category
Searching from any Action Menu category now finds entries across all visible system and custom categories, grouped under their category names. Clearing the search restores the original list and scroll position.
Empty categories hide automatically for the selected Actor. Exhausted items stay visible, and layout edit mode keeps empty categories available for editing.
🎨 Category Icon Picker
Click the icon beside its class field in Menu settings to browse Font Awesome and RPG Awesome, filter by library, or search by name. External adapter categories use the same picker, and manual class entry remains available.
👤 Personal HUD Mode
Set Card Display Mode to Personal to keep your assigned character's card visible without selecting a token. The character must be in the HUD roster and owned by you.
GMs see the first selected character in the roster. Selecting other tokens does not add temporary cards in this mode.
📖 Stats at the Top of Tooltips
Spell, weapon, equipment, consumable, and feature tooltips summarize available stats above their descriptions. These include activation time, range, duration, components, material costs, attack bonuses, save DCs, damage, and healing.
Armor shows AC details; D&D5e weapons show properties and mastery. PF2e spell previews follow the selected casting rank, and healing potions show their recovery formulas.
Check tooltips show modifiers and applicable passive values, advantage or disadvantage, or fortune and misfortune. The summaries follow the selected theme.
✨ Spell Information
Spell rows show short durations below their names, including concentration or sustained casting where applicable. D&D5e ritual spells use the character sheet's ritual icon.
The spell menu header shows spell attack bonuses. D&D5e save DCs sit beside them, with different casting sources listed separately; PF2e follows the selected spellcasting entry.
D&D5e Magic and Features open on an All tab with grouped entries. Individual tabs and the unprepared-spell setting still apply.
💎 Attunement and Investment
D&D5e attunement and PF2e investment use a diamond beside eligible item names: filled when active, outlined when inactive. The Inventory header shows the current count and character limit, and tooltips describe the item's state.
🧰 D&D5e Tool Checks
Utility > Tools, below Skills, shows proficiency markers and modifiers from the Actor. Checks use the system's roll dialog and its 2014 or 2024 rules, including Jack of All Trades and Tool Expertise. The tab can be hidden in Action Menu settings.
🎲 MIDI-QOL Roll Settings
D&D5e rolls follow MIDI-QOL's fast-forward settings and keybindings, and consumables use its item workflow. Follow MIDI-QOL Roll Settings is on by default; turn it off to restore the previous HUD roll handling.
🚀 Starfinder 2e Support
Starfinder 2e now has HUD support for attacks, spells, actions, feats, inventory, checks, tooltips, and resources, using the shared PF2e adapter.
Computers and Piloting have dedicated icons. Area Fire and Auto-Fire show the system's DC labels, and Reload opens its ammunition loading menu.
Checked with Starfinder 2e 1.6.1 on Foundry V14.
⚔️ PF2e and SF2e Combat Actions
Enable Track Combat Actions (PF2e / SF2e) in Action Menu settings to show remaining actions and reactions. It is off by default. HUD attacks, spells, active feats, reloads, and native weapon actions spend their listed costs, with manual adjustments and Undo available.
Canceled rolls and follow-up damage rolls do not spend another action. Counts recover on each combatant's turn and persist across reloads. Quickened has a separate pool; slowed and stunned affect the starting count. Compound activities and condition values still need system or GM handling.
Reaction attacks have a separate button and roll without a multiple attack penalty. Choose whether to spend a reaction or continue one already paid for.
👣 Movement Actions
Enable Track movement actions (PF2e / SF2e) alongside combat action tracking to spend actions from token movement distance and the Actor's Speed during their turn.
The footprint control shows remaining distance and Speed, such as 15/20 ft. Split moves share the remaining distance until another action or a new move begins.
Follow the token's movement type, choose another type, use a quickened action, or exclude a move. Movement already paid for by a skill action is not charged again. The tracker uses two slim rows while movement is visible, leaving favorites on their own row.
🎯 Skill Actions and Lore
Utility > Skills now groups native skill actions such as Demoralize, Trip, and Hide by skill. Buttons show their costs, use the system's checks, support favorites, and spend actions when tracking is enabled.
Lore can use a separate tab below Skills. Turning Separate Lore Skills off returns Lore to the Skills list; proficiency ranks and modifiers remain visible.
🔋 Ammunition Management
PF2e and SF2e show loaded ammunition, capacity, and magazine or battery charges. The manual spending button accepts amounts for each loaded ammunition type and previews what will remain.
Attacks keep the system's consumption behavior. Area Fire and Auto-Fire do not gain automatic ammunition spending; use the helper for amounts the system has not consumed. Selecting loaded ammunition and reloading use the native system controls.
🛡️ Weapon and Shield Readouts
Weapon entries separate names, ammunition, and attack modes into aligned sections. Attack buttons show multiple attack penalties below their modifiers, alongside active Boost, Parry, and Modular choices when available.
Shields show HP and current state, with hardness and the broken threshold on hover. Timed effect icons also show their remaining duration.
Merge Actions and Feats is now on by default for PF2e and SF2e. Existing saved Off settings are preserved. Roll-option toggles appear in Actions, falling back to Utility when Actions is hidden or removed.
🧩 Macro Action Costs
HUD-launched macros can explicitly report a completed action or reaction cost to the PF2e and SF2e tracker. Existing macros keep their behavior unless they report a cost. The included docs/action-cost-macros.md explains the return format and scoped sah.useActions helper.
⭐ Favorites and Item Sheets
Unlinked NPC tokens share favorites and their order with the base Actor. Shift + right-click an item in the Action Menu or favorites to open its sheet; regular right-click keeps its existing behavior.
Bug Fixes
End Turn: Several unlinked tokens from one Actor could target the wrong combatant. The button now follows the selected token and its turn.
Custom category items: Reordering or deleting categories could move personal items into another category. Saved lists now stay with their category and tab, and existing lists migrate automatically.
Player Item drops: Dropping an Item into a custom category no longer creates Macro folders that players cannot create on Foundry V14. Items retain quantities, uses, tooltips, and sheet shortcuts.
Effect and tooltip updates: Buffs and debuffs now refresh displayed values. Unidentified D&D5e items keep their unidentified descriptions, and generated PF2e attacks no longer repeat attack controls inside tooltips.
Scrolling and rapid edits: Refreshes preserve menu, tooltip, and favorite scroll positions. Rapid favorite edits no longer overwrite pending changes, and PF2e toggle labels no longer activate twice.
Spell resources: D&D5e casting-method rules and PF2e or SF2e rituals, Flexible slots, focus costs, and heightened cantrips now use the appropriate resources and previews.
Weapon management: Reload menus recheck available ammo and reject repeated loading. Magazine charges, repeating weapons, native weapon actions, and ready thrown weapons now follow their system data.
Party cards: Cards flash only when displayed numeric values change. Personal scales remain consistent with settings, and turn highlights follow the viewed encounter.
Requires: Foundry VTT v13 or v14 and GlitchSmith Library v0.12.0 or later.
