🎬Cinematic Cut-ins v1.9.0: Cleave & Eclipse Themes, Video Audio & Dimming Fix
Two new personal cut-in themes join the roster — designed to make boss reveals and dramatic entrances unforgettable. This update also adds video audio controls and fixes a long-standing bug where background dimming had no effect.
⚔️ New Theme: Cleave
A fast, aggressive theme built for combat reveals and decisive moments. The screen is torn apart by red crack lines that rip across the frame in rapid succession.
Glowing crack lines tear across the background in a staggered burst, each leaving a bright scar in the theme color.
The character is revealed from total darkness through a slash that splits open from the center, with a theme-colored glow building as they emerge.
Main text crashes in oversized with a shudder and snaps into position. Sub text flickers on with rapid brightness pulses.
Popout format recommended.
🌑 New Theme: Eclipse
A slow, cinematic theme designed for dramatic boss entrances and pivotal story moments. The screen transforms into a celestial event.
Deep indigo background fades in with a golden corona ring that blooms at center and slowly pulses outward.
Multiple light rays radiate from the eclipse at different angles and intensities, filling the frame with atmosphere.
The character begins as a pure black silhouette outlined by a golden glow, then gradually brightens to full color over the duration.
Text scales in softly with a slight blur-to-focus transition. Sub text fades up beneath with a gentle upward drift.
🔊 Video Audio Controls
Video images can now play their embedded audio track instead of being muted by default.
Main Character Video: A global audio toggle lets you unmute the main character's video for dramatic voice lines, ambient audio, or animated intros with sound.
Layer Videos: Each custom layer with a video file now has an independent 🔊 audio toggle, so you can mix silent background loops with layers that have meaningful sound.
Loop Toggle: Main character video loop can now be disabled for one-shot animations. Enabled by default — existing presets are unaffected.
🗳️ All-Out Attack — Custom Vote Button Sound
The voting button click sound in All-Out Attack mode can now be customized per preset via an audio file picker. Defaults to the built-in click.mp3.
🐛 Bug Fixes
Background Dimming Not Working: The per-actor "Background Dimming" slider (0–100%) was never connected to any visual effect. Now correctly dims the stage background during cut-in playback.
Video Resource Leak: Video elements now properly stop and are removed from DOM when cut-ins end.
Preview Loop Toggle: Layer loop checkbox was ignored in preview when the video DOM element was reused. Now properly syncs the loop state on every update.

I've been loving this module. It's very interactive and has been a hit with my players. One thing I would love to see is an easier way to template. For example, I want to introduce key monsters, NPCs, or enemies but I don't want to setup a brand new cut in for each and every one. Sometimes I need to do it quickly and that's not very easy to do on the fly. I would love to be able to setup a template, and then when I trigger it I can type a name and select an image, and it'll go off. That way I can introduce new NPCs or whatever instantly.
Thanks for the kind words! Most of these features are already available. You can assign groups to actors and set global styles, or use {{name}} to change names dynamically. There are many ways to achieve this, so it’s difficult to explain them all here.
