I dont know if anyone has said this but they dont call the version of Alluka that grants wishes "somthing" her name is "Nanika" which means something, but because of translation issues they just made her name "something".
Remember when kite used his crazy slot he was always disapointed, but when he pulled the number 3 against pitou he was not deceived and said nothing , like he knew something else that could made him confident about whatever happenning next (like resurection or an insurance that his life could not end in the fight he pulled it, but that's just speculation ngl)
pariston and gings relationship/rivalry is so good
Pariston is the GOAT , the whole election arc with so many pro hunters dead and everything was just a little game for him, seeing him getting to be the chairman to reject it 5 mins later always makes me laugh, what a character
I highly recommend the manga once you finish the 2011 anime - the current arc has Kurapika as a the main character, has closer tone to Yorknew for a lot of it, and has similar levels of ambition in its scope and storytelling to Chimera Ant. I will also say, there are answers to be had for many questions in the continuing story.
My take on Ging's behavior here: 1. He thought Gon's satisfaction and drive would be the same as his, and didn't understand that a child would necessarily want his father. 2. In the manga, it shows the fact that he intended to raise him, but Mito made him leave Gon on Whale Island. Between these two, I think he's somewhat embarrassed at the way he handled things and doesn't want an audience for the reunion. In my read, this ties in with his decision to have the standard teleport spell send Gon to him, but Accompany send him to Kite.
Point 2. If you think about it, it's more than likely Ging left Mito with Gon, rather than Mito actually "forcing Ging." While Mito says she forced Ging, I think, from Ging's perspective, he never intended to, or strongly desired, to raise Gon. If Ging actually wanted to raise Gon, he would never lose a custody battle, given his essentially infinite financial resources and political power.
