We NEED this to become a side-comic. I'd love to see how this adventure plays-out! I also agree with Brad Sampson's comment on the original (colored) sketch, that this man is likely not a samurai, but rather a higher-ranking officer of the ashigaru class. It would be a very interesting adventure indeed, for an ancient Japanese soldier to wake up in Mekaan among Keidran! 😁
