You cannot really exaggerate on safety gear in a smithy. Things are hot, sharp, heavy, or a combination. Hence why I always wear heavy steel nose boots with thick soles. Better to have some scorched laces than walking around with a number of toes below 10.

Honestly, boots for digitigrade feet should 100% be a thing, more so as living conditions change and the ideas of paving, indoor living, etc., become standards. Atop this, such a thing can be a boon to hunting parties, preventing small sharp objects from puncturing pawpads and/or getting into the areas BETWEEN the pads, making extraction/removal difficult and possibly painful.

They're nearly indestructible, very comfortable, give you the ability to wall-jump, and your ankles are 100% covered!

I’m at work and couldn’t comment right away. I love how this turned out. I can’t remember exactly how the thought of this scenario came to mind, but, the idea is he learned the hard way about not watching where he steps while in the forge shop. One way or the other, the Basitin doctors wound up putting him in a T-Pose full-body cast for a week after he suffered a simple, albeit painful, burn to the toe beans. Perhaps he’ll invent Basitin Sandals after he steps onto the hot sand on Basitin Beach Day.
