Boy been reading Wheel of time, dippin' into that a'dam technology.
part of me wants to see an arc of Nibbly learning how to talk and asking to stay that way. (This reminded me of another webcomic, By the Book, where one of the main characters accidentally turned a tree and a couple of animals into anthropomorphic women and they elected to stay that way because they liked having hands and sentience.)

The answer was there all along. Mrs. Nibbly seems to like having girlfriend privileges. Being a full time squirrel owner is no easy task. 🤭
Alternatively, since nobody else was touching the collar when it landed on Nibbly, it might consider her the master as if she put it on herself.
