Patreon Suggestion Thread June

Hello Patrons, here again with another thread where you can suggest what videos you'd like us to make soon. We'll collect the popular examples into a poll at the end of the week.

We've currently got a lot of videos about One Nation in the works so don't worry on that front, we've got it covered.

Remember to like posts from others you want to see too, it helps us pick out topics for the poll.

Imo by far the most helpful thing you can do to help Australians and Labor is arming your viewers with a summary handbook of what the talking points are, why they’re bullshit, etc. This is something I feel you did very well in the federal election, I found it easy to write some notes that helped me when volunteering, and I felt it had a big impact on that election. But volunteering in Victoria now, especially with one nation rising and the election fast approaching, I feel I don’t have that help, and I reckon that’s why you keep getting asked about Victoria videos. We need all the talking points picked apart: machete bins, planning changes, taxes, debt, crime, etc etc. This is a video I think you should put together for every election, as well as revising federally every year or two. I feel like a lot of it you already know, it’s just needs to be collated and simplified so that we can bring the arguments to the dinner table.

Pauline Hanson’s racist tirade at National Press club today. Only 5% of the country is Muslim. Muslims are not taking over. Pauline is talking out of her arse. So much garbage. ‘50% of Australians have at least one parent born overseas - what does the nation think of that?’ Well i would say the half of all aussies that have a parent born overseas probably are pretty happy about it, being that they were born. Way to try to pitt people against each other. Not to mention most of those people are probably white, with a parent from Europe or Britain. But her point was to scare people to think it is all Chinese and Arabs, in an at times openly racist rant. Some protesters released a banner during her speech and she lost her cool after that. She attacked the media. Ib the Q&A Said she would ban abc and the Guardian. Said she would get rid of SBS if she got into power. Said women should not get paid maternity leave. Defended herself for not supporting casual workers and increasing minimum wage. She’s a hypocrite from Ipswich, pretending she speaks for everyone

Your arguments about going to another country with less tax or how Australia has the highest living standards have been eye opening to me. A dedicated video doing the heavy lifting of explaining how that is practically accurate to a board audience might be worthwhile. The Media/Algorithms focus us on what we should be angry about/hate that I think most of the people around me forget how rich we actually are, sometimes literally. I understand it isn't algorithmically glamorous, but to your point on whinge merchants, we not only need to counter, but also balance once the counterarguments leave people directionless.

I think Jordan should start calling for debates, and replicate some of the success that Jubilee has had in engaging the younger generation, ie Dean Withers and Parker etc. Call out specific people, especially the fkn Teals and get them to debate on specific topics. All well and good that we get 1hr long informative FJ videos, but I reckon we're preaching to the choir. Debates would draw in new viewers to Friendlyjordies videos too.

B
Blake Walden · June 16, 2026

To save you the time, it's mostly down to professionalism. It's not a battle of ideologiues, which enables people to focus on building THE government and commit to a pre-established long term plan. Those plans come quickly in the grand scheme of a career. A sole bureaucrat working for 10 years to build a rail line as their crowning achievement in the west is hailed as a good career. Over there, they do it 4-5 times. And if they fail, they're replaced by a skilled successor. The level of career professionalism is a world of difference.

B
Blake Walden · June 16, 2026

Labor on Defence, and the fact that One Nation doesn't even *have* a defence policy. This is a HUGE sore point for a right wing movement, whose big club is 'we will keep you safer'. Highlighting new treaties with Fiji, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, and critically, PNG, and the new information sharing agreement with Indonesia, and our new Frigate deal with Japan, is a massive step toward becoming a proper regional power who take our role seriously and creates a level of sovereignty we have never had before. Security in the region is massively improved by the increased activity in the region we're now engaging with, and reduces human trafficking, drug trade, piracy, illegal fishing, and all sorts of other high seas crime that uplifts the region and Australia in the process. A small segment on defence successes and a larger one on the diplomacy maybe?

gina rinehart and her influence on politics in Alberta, Canada. I know I Canadian viewers such as myself are probably under 5% of the viewers of Friendly Jordies and this sort of video would do very poorly in the metrics. I do think it is very interesting and can show the highlights some of the weakness in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. Specifically, the investor-state dispute resolution process.

J
Jay · June 16, 2026

Perhaps a positive video about a transformative project Labor is initiating: High Speed Rail. A lot of good work being done by the authority, widely well received by the construction industry too. This is the most progress any government has made on this by a long shot. Of course, the media either keeps pushing a pessimistic narrative; "here we go again, must be election time", or claims that it's another project we don't need (similar to Suburban Rail Loop in Melbourne). We absolutely should build this in Australia, it's not just about transport and better connectivity but also housing and economic development in both regional and urban Australia. Might also be worth highlighting the coalition's attempt at building Inland Rail and how poorly planned that was, in comparison to what's being done in the early stages of HSR.

P
Polivoks · June 19, 2026

Would be good to see if Jordies sees if he can get some actual experts if he were to make such a video. People who don’t understand rail can have some pretty bad takes on this stuff. Jordies is controversial though so might have issues… Taitset is obviously the best train-tuber. Haintrain also knows his shit. “Streets and Scars of City Past” hates the liberal party so might be a safe bet. He can be a bit overly negative though, which isn’t a great quality for a transit YouTuber. Negativity is weaponised to destroy transit and rail.
