Inside Gina Rinehart's Cult

This week we've got something a little bit different. Recently we received another unlisted video of a Hancock Prospecting event. Jordan watched it on a stream and it really shows off how cult-like Gina Rinehart's world is. We've trimmed down the stream so it's easier to consume and will release this as a regular video but we're giving you an early look.
Because this is from a stream and not a regular video we'll be giving you early access to another video in a few days. Now that we're on the monthly system we'll be doing this more often alongside some patreon extras we'll be announcing soon.
We're well underway making videos based on the popular choices from the Patreon suggestion thread from last month. We'll be doing another one in a few days to get something you'd like to see made before the election comes. Most importantly we took the poll's winner "How to communicate Labor's achievements to others" and have been making a lot of short form content in this vein on Facebook/Tiktok/Instagram. We think this is the best way to get the message out to the most people, we're sure that's what you want in the leadup to the election. We'll be compiling these thoughts into a full video too.
Just under one month until the election, we'll be hard at work producing as much work as we can until then. Thank you all for your support while we do this,

As for the comments slagging off about how Jordan gave up on fighting the mining industry. On the one hand I agree the commenters have either not bothered to watch the video, ignored the points or failed to comprehend them. On the other, I think it is up to Jordan and the team to think about how they can improve on reinforcing the key message of the video. Right from thumbnail, the first few seconds, and all the way to the end. At the end of the day, it is the job of the commmunicator to figure out how to get the point across to their audience. Blaming the audience as being stupid (which they may well be) etc. is just a cop out to avoid reflecting on how to craft a clearer, simpler and more effective message. Idk, maybe the title: "How to take down the mining industry" would've conveyed a clearer picture of what Jordan's point was than "Can Australia Tax it's resources?". This is not my area of expertise, but it seems very unlike "Jordan Shanks" to deflect blame for (some of) his audience failing to understand his message rather than reflecting on how he himself and the team could've done better in getting the point across. But good on you guys for giving it a crack anyway, it's important work
Holy shit... Seeing the inside of the Australian mining elite is so cooked. I don't know how a sane (educated) could person could see this and think "hmmm yes, Gina and the Coalition really do have the nation's best interests at heart".
As someone who contracts with most of the major mining companies, what’s hilarious about the whole “government is inefficient” argument is how incredibly inefficient major mining companies are… they take months of internal discussions to make any minor decision and spend about 4x in salaries on what any other normal Australian company needs to spend on solving any given problem. are most mining jobs not just another form of Centrelink for otherwise unemployable mouth breathers?
Fortunately their inefficiency is my gain #consultant Once had a pretty senior guy at a mining client tell me I wasn’t charging enough and they needed me to up my fees and overestimate my hours to project completion to help them justify their own internal spending budget for said project, soooo efficient, but hey it funds my kids’ private schooling

Guys, we need to start running the Dunny Dutton name in the lead up to the election. I'm picturing that by using that name, we get kids and some adults hooked on the name (think of the 'hole in your budget' song last election that was fkn annoying but catchy enough that kids still remember it after it was drilled into their heads via TV and YouTube ads). Hopefully we can make it stick in people's minds when they go to vote and hopefully it ruins Dunny Dutton's image.

Another point on outsourcing government to consultants is that employees are beholden to the interests of the owners of the firm, and therefore beholden to the businesses that use the consulting firm to assess and report. It's harder to apply the law and industry standards when you're mortgage/rent depends on turning a blind eye.
