Hello Patrons,
While this video didn't quite win the Patreon poll it was featured in, we decided we wanted to make it anyway. Don't worry, there are multiple videos on policy (the poll's winner) in the works right now and the budget video we released recently also covers those topics.
This video is about Julia Gillard's coup against Kevin Rudd. Buckle, it's a longer vid than usual. Jordan upacks what happened and why he thinks Gillard's minority government was the worst Labor Government we've had.
We know a lot of you like history videos so we hope you enjoy this one. Also, just because videos don't win the poll doesn't mean we won't make them, unless it's the orange eating video. That one has to win for us to make it.
Thank you for hte support!

Was excited to see this one and voted for it on the poll. Glad you made it despite the popularity loss! I was too young during Gillard's reign to really understand what had happend.
I agree with the general tenet of the video, although Jordan forgets the minority government also created ARENA and the CEFC, the second and third pillars of the Clean Energy 2011 act negotiated through the Senate and which STILL EXIST TO THIS DAY despite numerous attempts of the Liberals to smash them. It's important to remember that carbon pricing was an important factor of Gillard being able to form government at all. If she reneged, Tony and Rob would have not lended their support and we would have got another election (which Abbott would have won). In any case, Gillard's administration was a flop. You also left out how she purged Wong from the #1 senate position is SA for a factional stooge, and dumped an ALP NT senator Trish Crossin which even the Liberals called one of the worst acts of political bastardy in history. Gillard was a very effective puppet. Rudd is still the best PM we've ha this century. But does Aldo make Gillard look good? I guess we'll find out next year. So far, I'd put Gillard ahead. At least her minority government actually stood for something.
YES! FINALLY! Someone saying what I've been bitching about for years - the "misogyny" speech was a fucking joke! Thank you Jordan for confirming that I am not a crackpot
Well done Jordies! This is important nuanced history worth talking about. We all know history tends to repeat itself, so at least worth being aware of it and trying to look out for the same patterns today and in the future. It was terrible that Rudd was knifed due to being a dreamer of a more sovereign Australia that dared to vie for peaceful cooperation in the pacific. We may never know just what extent of an impact it’s making now having Rudd as our US. Ambassador. Would love to see more vids focusing on Australian political history that’s influenced our sovereignty.
That closing point is something I can’t disagree with and something I cannot wait to say to a Liberal supporter.I switched union’s cause of that gonad Arbib.I remember the Murdoch telegraph had a field day with Peter Slipper, putting a rat face caricature on him on the front page of their papers on multiple occasions cause he switched sides.Kevin Rudd….. the best U.S ambassador in history.
Top quality stuff as always! Thanks FJ & Da cruuuuuuue 😎
More of this history stuff. Love it. Also, one on the gfc or maybe the mining boom in Australia would make great retrospectives
Great job you guys
Looks like a great video Jordan. I love watching about history.
Saying the orange vid has to win a poll is just gonna make it happen. Don't say I didn't warn youse
Just make the orange eating video already you dogs
I bet he made it years ago, making us beg for it to drop.
