But if you're interested in a big hit for SCP storyline there's the "There is no Antimemetics division". An amazing read and horrifying concept that the foundation deals with.

When I was a kid, I somehow legit thought SCP was real.. idk why I was so dumb lol I was exploring an abandoned property (neighbor moved away years ago and never resold the home on a property that touched ours so we would visit often.) I remember I went into the house during winter out of boredom, so it was kinda dark pretty early in the day and saw a weird teddy bear that I don't remember seeing before. Thinking of the teddy bear SCP immediately I decided I should "contain it" so I put it in a cardboard box and put it under the house's porch and ran back home. Best containment method lmao

I didn't have it in me to not comment that obsession is at least 6 or 7 times better than backrooms. backrooms was boring with cool sets, obsession was thematically rich and beautifully shot with an excellent mix of horror and comedy its leagues apart literally

Day 615 of requesting- Would be cool to watch you guys read through a collection of classics from the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books. There's three volumes so lots of good ones to pick from. They're also banned in a lot of schools now, thankfully not until after I graduated because I loved them and they scared the hell out of me, especially Harold the Scarecrow. It would be an awesome grab bag episode, not to mention the artwork by Stephen Gammell is excellent nightmare fuel. Plus: since it was a compilation of stories and folk tales, Alvin Schwartz, the author, did footnotes at the end of the books detailing some of the origins and variations of the stories, etc.

I actually love Hunters idea of have Backrooms be completely from the therapists perspective and having Clark bring her tapes from his exploration with the first half of the movie being mostly found footage and then pivoting to more traditional when he goes missing halfway through. Thats a really creative way to frame the movie and it solves probably my biggest issue with it which was changing protagonists halfway through to the less fleshed out therapist. Still a great movie in either case but it would be fun to see Hunter's version.

Hunter not understanding that the therapist character in Backrooms was played intentionally like she was detached is almost as egregious as Wendi saying Rorschach was the only Watchmen character with principles

I’m not sure how closely watched the Patreon comments are, BUT i absolutely recommend SCP-093, the Red Sea Object. It has a decent amount of material from its expeditions and would be a great one if you guys ever do an SCP grab-bag episode, or even just for a shorter episode. It should be about the same length of this one if not maybe a little longer, haven’t read it much since I was a kid, but it was always my go-to SCP.

I don't know how you guys would even tackle it given it's 300 episodes and an audio drama but The Magnus Archives is a creature of the week style radio broadcast tbat is played through the cassette tapes of The Archivist. A man who works for a government agency that documents supernatural happenings. It starts out with just fun stories but over time it builds a lovecraftian overarching narrative that ties our fears into 13 entities that feed off each type of fear. I truly belive it to be one of the best pieces of horror media.

47:30 So I’ve got a stutter and the same happens to me; if I’m reading normally, I stammer through words and mess up pretty often. If I’m reading while doing a voice, or singing, I don’t stutter at all. This is pretty common with people with speech impediments, because speaking as a character or otherwise in a specific tone of voice forces you to put more focus into word delivery, which prevents your brain from absentmindedly skipping or fumbling words/sounds.

STORY SUGGESTION: I would highly recommend the short stories from “A Sunny Place for Shady People” by Mariana Enriquez! Specifically the entries “A Local Artist”, “Refrigerator Cemetery”, and “Face of Disgrace”. I picked the book up from a local bookstore and was pleasantly surprised with how unsettling some of the stories are.

Possible recommendation but also a question for fellow patreons does anyone know of the Calgary keys? It was (is?) a scp ripoff basically but a really good one. It's definitely more magic urban fantasy based which sounds cringe and lame but I promise is not. Still similar to scp in its eerieness and mystery. Hunter might like it because there's no reduction and it's basically people who urban explore Calgary anomalies called keys so it's more colloquial, narrative then science report. The frustrating thing as the time was there were a fair few missing entries. Idk if it was narrative thing or they were gonna add more but didn't. Still a good read. This is my fave scp yet I think. Also, Backrooms was phenomenal.

Backrooms was great, but I don’t really think of the therapist as part of the movie’s central story. The whole movie is about Clark’s arc. When Clark talks about the replicas, he says they’re great because they can’t think or feel. But as soon as Other Clark starts coming, his wife freaks out. I took that to mean Clark had another side to him that she knew about, but that we hadn’t seen yet. Clark also finally gets the validation he needs when the therapist calls him out for how shitty he is, then basically tells him to stay in the Backrooms and be cool. I think that’s what allows him to finally move on. It may also explain why Other Clark attacks him when he comes in: Clark had let go of the part of himself that Other Clark recognized as being like him.
