The parade and the “god” is already so compelling that the other anomalous things are just weighing it down by adding fluff to an already good idea. Loved the parade and narrating guy stories, but this feels so disjointed. There was no tension at all. Girl gets killed by a pumkin demon, no one cares. There is an apartment building full of monsters and parades that kill/mutilate residents, but when a guy sees headless teddy bear he vomites. Angels say something bad is going to happen to the town but nothing happens. Idk, I just didn't vibe with these. The last one was cool though.

I agree with hunter the series doesn’t really need to be a series. The stories were pretty nonsensical, and the concepts weren’t really that fun or creative either. Like come on girl who’s scared of pumpkins gets killed by pumpkin monster, thats the whole story? And yeah it definitely felt like the recurring characters would mean something. They just show up for no reason, with no resolution, and then just disappear. This one was really disappointing honestly this series just feels completely pointless
I would agree, as I found the pumpkin one to be the most ridiculous, but it seems it was done on purpose. There was a lack of explanation to really help along the references, but the girl who hated pumpkins was named Cassandra whose name comes from a greek myth of a girl whom was gifted vision of the future from Apollo (note also that Apollo and Daphne are also connected in myth, Daphne being the sick girl in the hospital), but also cursed to NEVER be believed. I only reached this realization from a heavy scroll of the youtube comments mentioning the names correspond with myths. As I said, there was a severe lack of explanation as to helping connect these dots in any way. I was also pissed about Cory being shut out, but was also helped to realize they must’ve been scared SPECIFICALLY because if you DO manage to leave Pines, you’re never seen again. He’s an anomaly, and that’s freaky to them. Never explained, though, besides it being implied he brings very bad news for the town.

nah the parade story was so good and serious then we get popcorn bears and pumpkin monsters…and then that’s it. Felt so pointless especially when everyone’s been hyping this series up, funny bits tho lol
I definitely liked this author's other works more. This feels all over the place and very disjointed (even with the all the interconnectivity it's trying to create). This feels like it falls into the world-building trap where authors want to include everything they think is cool in their setting, without really coming up with an interesting way how and why they're all fit together. I'm an author and worldbuilder myself, and have made this mistake before. Often, less is better. A concise world with less supernatural and weird elements will make those supernatural and weird elements have a lot more depth and punch to them. If everything is supernatural and weird, those words kind of lose their meaning, and those elements become nothing more than a gimmick. Regrettably, that's how I felt throughout most of this. I wonder if this is the author trying to appease a fanbase that wanted more of the original story, knowing that these expansive, serialized series' featuring a melting pot of supernatural elements (like Tales from the Gas Station, or the Radio Broadcast series) are quite popular... Like I said, the original Point Pine story, with the parade, is great. Because it's just the parade. We knew there was weird stuff in the background, and the parade was clearly unnatural. But the rest was still kept mysterious. And that made it all super menacing. Her other, stand-alone (as far as I'm aware) works, have also been really good, so no shade to the author. But yeah. That's my 2 cents.
I hope you guys check out and potentially review widows bay! it’s awesome and has stories like Spire and a moment that felt VERY stolen tongues. 10/10 show so far cannot recommend enough!

This was sick! If Hunter wishes for more cohesion but is down with the weird fucked up town concept, he’d probably love the audio drama I Am In Eskew by David Ward. Tremendous body horror and it’s 30 episodes long but each episode could be its own stand alone episode! Would love the guys to check this out or even look at the transcripts

Famburger exists…it’s located in Durango, Colorado. They opened a second location recently; I’m going to assume it spawned from the original after Isaiah spoke it into existence.
I do hope Point Pine as a series gets continued, because Hunter is right. The first few Point Pine entries were building to something. There is reoccurring characters and references to events that could be kept track of on a consistent timeline, and repeated reference to "something bad" that's gonna happen. Then they switched back into the sort of anthology vibe out of nowhere
