This was one of my favorite creepypasta's when I was young. I specifically remember the part of the eyes in the darkness and thinking that was extremely scary. It's funny, I didn't even remember any of the plot aside from that part. Imagination and being a kid that knew nothing about the world really carried most of these stories.

Im half way though but I want to mention to Isaiah. It's called Normalcy Bias: Normalcy Bias is a Cognitive Bias that causes people to underestimate the possibility or the impact of a disaster. When we take into account the father, in the story, down playing the Chanting and the strange symbols in the woods it might be to not destroy his safe space or shelter his child from some creepy woods. As the Audience we know the context of the story, we have pre-cognitive knowledge that something is going on and there is a threat so we take the Defensive immediately. Now the question would be "The father uses his Normalcy Bias to shelter his son from scary things but why does he not alert authorities or investigate the situation himself and make sure his son is not visiting the scary forest anymore?"
