Cranked Monday Update - New UI, Bike, Animations, and More!
Yo! Hope you had a good weekend and got some riding in.
If you're new here, we have a Team Sync every Monday where we talk through our plans for the week. These are the notes from our meeting.
General Updates
The next build is shaping up around the new UI and the Atherton bike, and we're aiming to get it out late next week.
Zone 1 is getting more trails for the free Steam demo, a few new natural single-track runs plus a hidden trail hub to find.
I'm working on some custom Ocean & San short-sleeved riding shirts. Keep an eye out for when those go live! I'll post a preview of it once I get it from Ocean & San.
Here's what we're focusing on this week
Michael
Building out the new rider animation system. Part of the steeze pass.
He was working on the rider's hip movement last week. It's getting there!
Maggie
Finishing the customization system, cleaning up meshes and making the preview thumbnails, then merging it in so the new UI can use it.
After that, back onto environment and scene work.
Here's a preview of what Maggie and I have been working on in conjunction (Maggie with the shop/rider scene, me with the new UI).
Cedric
Adding more variety to Zone 1, a few new natural single-track trails plus a hidden trail hub.
Damien
Finishing the Atherton bike, adding the new TRP brakes. TRP was one of the people we connected with in Whistler.
Making a proper bike rig and handing it over to Michael.
Andreas
Finishing the textures on the Fox Flex Air gloves by Friday.
Joe
Building all the new UI screens into the game this week.
Preview of the new Map screen with challenges:
We even have a dark mode (leaderboard preview)!
That's the plan for this week. The next build with the new UI and the Atherton bike should be a good one, aiming for late next week.
Lucy and Chulo (Richie from Rad Dog's dog) say hi!
