July Update - The response to the DEMO!
Well, July was a pretty big month for me.
Earlier in the month, the demo for SuccuPie: An Erotic Short Story went live on itch. This marks the very first time that SuccuPie can actually be played by the public - mentally there was a lot riding on this for me. Response from internal testers has been really positive (and I'm so grateful to everyone who has given their time to test the game!) but there's always going to be some degree of bias when you're talking face-to-face (virtually) with the developer, and this is something I was always aware of. With the launch of the itch demo, I was finally, after one-and-a-half years of solo development, going to find out what people truly thought of the game I'd been making!
I've been overwhelmed with the response.
SuccuPie's demo was downloaded over 30,000 times, and to date has received over 200 reviews on itch - with an average of 4.9/5. On its opening weekend, it sat among the very top games in the "adult" tag, and I've read through hundreds of incredible comments - not just on itch but on many corners of the internet, a few of which did bring me to tears (happy tears!). Every day I pour everything I can into this game, but I never know how much of that really translates to the final product. It seems, at least right now, that people can feel that passion in there. I'm not gonna drop a bunch of review quotes, but safe to say the game has struck a chord with almost everyone who was kind enough to review or leave a comment. As a bonus: on a technical level its holding together well, and I'm confident that the wheels won't fall off when the demo comes to Steam shortly - it's currently in review!
Above all else, people seem to have connected with the world I've been making, the humour, the atmosphere, and of course: Marcine. I've had many new Patreons (Hello and thank you everyone!) and so much encouragement from people discovering SuccuPie for the first time. Despite the inherent loneliness of solo development, I'm honestly more motivated than ever - thank you all for your support.
The way I make games, I make them for myself - it's the only way I know how. Throughout development my constant question is: does this make me happy? Do I find this funny? Would I buy this? Inevitably that means that I can't really make games that have mass appeal -but that has never bothered me, I think there's more than enough room for all kinds of games. NSFW isn't my background, and I think what really struck me about the demo feedback was that people could see that SuccuPie isn't just a game featuring sex, but a game first and foremost. A lot of players actually said it was their first ever experience with an NSFW game, and I'm very happy about that. I always wanted SuccuPie to be something people connect with on a level beyond just its sex-appeal, and it looks like that's what's happening.

Absolutely loved the Demo and I look forward to the release, I agree with Edin, the setting and charm are lovely. I love the art, love the silly characters, the vibe of it all and the music fits perfectly. I cant wait for the full and more after. I am also curious about the music, I don't know what genre that is or where to find the music you used for your game but id love to have it in my playlists.
I wrote the music for the game myself in FL studio. I actually made a patreon post about it a few months ago :)
Hello, any plans to release on platforms outside of Steam like Itch or GOG? Also will the full release have VSync? My monitor sucks and I was getting screen tearing in the demo at 60 FPS. Can't wait for full release!

Just wondering, but is there a roadmap or any type of estimated window of completion you have intended for the game? I enjoyed it greatly and am eager to see the full scope of your work realized.
No entendi mucho por el idioma del juego pero lo disfrute!, con lo poco que se de ingles me dio risa los chistes y me encanto el mundo que creaste!, no soy de agregar en mi lista de deseados juegos nsfw, pero este juego es diferente a los demas, atrae bastante y te da ganas de saber que pasara despues, por eso es el primero de este tipo que agregue y que comprare apenas salga, sigue asi te esta quedando genial!
question, will it be possible to buy it on itch or here because steam in Australia just got hit with this age verification bs, and since i and many other don't own a credit card(that's was valve chose instead of id's) we can't buy it let alone view it.
I know how frustrating that must be, I'm sorry to hear that. Currently Steam is the only planned platform, but I'll be looking into other platforms after launch.

I found the demo yesterday browsing Steam and I can't stress how much I loved it. The atmosphere, dialog and style just blew me away. I'm looking forward to this game as much as I am Light No Fire and I've been waiting on that for years. Not to mention the voice acting is perfect, whoever the VA for Marcine is has an amazing voice and really makes her feel alive. She triggers the same neurons that Serana did in Skyrim lol. Can't wait to play the full game when it drops!
As much as the lewd side of this game is lots of fun, you'll end up playing for the cosy atmosphere and charming characters. I can't wait to see where the story takes us next.

Bro… THE DAY HAS COME! I was so tired of straight bs snd slop on my itch io but this caught my attention and gave it a whirl and holy shit, this is really amazing. Im so invested in this project the voice acting the vibes the scenery was absolutely amazing I just want more and more from this game! Love the characters keep doing what youre doing I love the style if this keep it up!
will there be a full release to buy it not on steam with the new age verification thing they did here in Australia i cant get the full game on steam if and when it releases { note i just saw previous comments asking basically the same thing but they were from germany hopefully after your steam release you can put it on patreon as im sure everyone else has said the game is wonderful and im excited for the full game but im sad knowing i cant play it cause steam dont like aussies}
I really have to say The demo was Greater than I first thought BUT it wasn´t the NSFW part that took me to the demo. It was the Story and the art style of this game I really hope It really is ready fast buut don´t feel pushed! Take your time so that the game is as Good as possible Really I respect that work and Thank you for Working so Hard on such a Good Game
Ill be honest this was something else. I think the full release will have a positive feedback too. I wish you nothing but good luck. Next to Anthro Heat, this is a next project I would follow. If need for QA or general playtesting can offer that help- obvi for free.
Played the demo not thinking it was going to be much. But man was I wrong was not expecting this game to give me a good laugh and adore Marcine. All from a demo no less I wish list on steam and supporting you on patron can't wait to hear more and for the release date.

Hey! I absolutely loved the demo, I can't wait for the final game to release, will you be publishing it on Patreon too? I'm from Germany and the steam TOS won't allow any adult games but I'd love to play it nonetheless even for a higher membership tier. The characters got me absolutely hooked and it feels like sm more than just your average NSFW game, it's genuinely amazing and I love pretty much everything about it. Phenomenal release, the personality in this game genuinely made me forget I was playing a gooner game, and I found myself laughing at the tv shows more than I expected to. I find the use of the fridge mold tasteful and the overall premise of the game to flow super well. I can't wait to hear more about the development of this game and when the full version comes out, because this is quality work done by someone who cares and is creating with the intention to enjoy it themselves as well. Do you have a discord server or anything like that?

So, I just played the demo and had to come over to the Patreon. Super nice art style/animation and the story is perfect, I know what its like to be in a bad place like that, made it kinda personal lol. But seriously, this is great, and I can't wait for the full release!
I'm not going to lie, i went into your game not knowing it was an ero game but holyshit, out of every demo game I've played, I never thought that this one would actually leave me wanting more, from the graphics to the actually well fleshed out voice lines, I honestly can't wait for the full release and to willingly spend money on it.
Hi. I was honestly expecting just a porn game, but it actually feels alive. I don't like to compare, but it was my first time trying an NSFW game and it gave me the exact same atmosphere that Dispatch had. it felt alive I really enjoyed the demo and I'm looking forward to the full game release, hoping it will have a good story. I really liked the mystery of why the main character doesn't go out.

Maaaaaaaaaan i first found your game in f95 and tried the demo and went directly to subscribe, its really good and fun, i bet there is going be some secrets there, one question will there be a chance for edit marcine? like the color of the eyes, hair or in general, either way im going to steam to wishlist, keep up the good work cheers!
Thank you so much for supporting me! Marcine is a set character and won't be editable, as there are a few mesh swaps (like wet hair in the shower etc) which rely on her design staying consistent.

I absolutely loved the Demo I seriously love the Setting and charm it makes me feel Nostalgic. Great Work! One Question though, will you also Release the Full Game when its available on Patreon? Currently the only planned platform is Steam, because I'm a solo dev I have to focus on one platform - at least for now. After launch I will be looking into other platforms so hopefully I will be able to make the game available for German fans :)
