FDM Appreciation 3D Printing & Painting Contest!
The settings are hard to master. The supports can make or break a masterpiece. They work long nights and hard days. Hiding the lines is an art form of its own, The FDM printers, love them or hate them, are why we are all here in the first place. Therefore this month for the printing and painting contest lets show off our best FDM Prints!
Did you print a massive dragon? Did you print a very tiny pixie? No matter the size, post your best FDM prints as well as your paint jobs! Please use my files and only one post per patron. Use a picture sharing site like imgur and post the url in your comment to share your make.
You have until 23:59 22 Nov 2019 to post your masterpiece here. Then the following day I'll make a poll and you all will vote for the best printed and painted mini! The winners will get:
1st Place: A custom 3D printed and painted mini!
2nd & 3rd: A custom 3D model
4th & beyond: A sticker by Jen!
I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

The Banderhobb, ready to swallow up some adventurers. Was featured in my Curse of Strahd campaign as a servant of the Bonegrinder Hags.

This is a print i spliced together out of a couple of your models so i could have a giant standing with a dire wolf, for an npc called Marth of the Distant North. Halfling Bard remixed from your master thief and werebear bard models. He was printed on an Ender 3 with .4 nozzle at .08mm layer height. He was painted with army painter paints. https://imgur.com/a/jBRNSZd https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3958414
Cool!
I really like your models. Here is your roc in (approximately) 15mm scale: https://imgur.com/a/LzdJiju The dire bear was printed with resin
Nice work!
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5F6qs5h6ww/ Printed this on the ender 3. Added the spell effect for the little girl wizard by cutting up this electro axe from a last jedi storm trooper executioner and kit bashing it together. I really love how unique this model is having two characters on one model it always makes me wanna have a character for this.
Nice :-)
Here is Firestorm, Pyromancer and Master of Evocation, with pretty good detail for their size using a 0.25mm nozzle on an Ultimaker 3. https://imgur.com/gallery/DFg4KRK
Sweet!!
He's getting ready for his appearance in Storm Kings Thunder - Harshnagg The Grim. He was printed on my Ender 3 Pro and I just finished flocking snow on his base. https://imgur.com/gallery/fmEn9V8
Nice!
We're going to submit our ancient blue dragon. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/635896220014870548/639912586242162689/IMG_0460.JPG https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635896220014870548/639912586057351168/IMG_0462.JPG https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635896220014870548/639912578696478740/IMG_0459.JPG https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635896220014870548/639912565035499538/IMG_0457.JPG It ain't a perfect print. But printed in one piece as it was, it was quite the challenge to figure out just what settings to use and how to get it to print right. We don't have any other truly challenging FDM prints from MZ laying around that we're satisfied with.
Awesome!
Printed on Ender3 Pro https://imgur.com/R9HfjeW
First time entering one of the contests. There are not my best prints, but the "supports can make or break" part reminded me printing these guy's in FDM: https://imgur.com/a/jXhNvT2 P.S.: I added the another model out of contest (it's not a mz4250 model) because I sadly never ended up using him until now :( but he fits the theme.
Nice. I'll count the skeletons. Holy crap those came out amazing though! Skeletons are VERY HARD on FDM. Nice work!!!
Would love to summit our beholder printer on a prusa mk3s with a .4 nozzle. https://imgur.com/a/QBjhXBI
Nice! Did you want the tentacles facing forward like that? You can warp them and re-position them with a hot hair dryer. I'm ok with you posting another pic if you want to do that.
