The Salamander & Fire Snake!
Hello friends! Today I worked on the the Salamanders! I started with some small touch ups on the Fire Snake from 2014 that didn't actually need much work. But the new Salamander I made from scratch given its different enough from the original. It was a nice mix of sculpting and rigging work. The work I made today will make the next Salamander Inferno Master easier to complete tomorrow :)
I made two versions of the Salamander, with version 1 being very dynamic but not FDM friendly. If you wanna try it anyway I recommend orienting it with the spear pointed upward into the sky. You can also try as is but you'll deal with a lot of supports in the mouth. I made version 2 though that is more FDM friendly. I did the usual stoic pose for this one, as if it were a guardian or not aggressive yet as its trying to figure out the best way to incinerate you lol. You can use supports on this one but I'd try to block out supports on the fins. I would also enforce supports under the right arm too just in case.

More to come tomorrow! Enjoy!

I recently printed and painted your last salamander. Excited to give this one a shot too. Appreciate your models mz!
No prob :)
I have a question, well first, great work on all this that you do. Question is what is the difference between the files? Blend, sculped blend? Also what slicer are you doing the supports on? Btw I've printed quite a few of your files on my Saturn 4 16k and they all turned out great. Although I am trying to figure out how to remove the base from the hydra to make it easier to paint. Keep up the great work and thanks for putting it out there for all of us.
Sure no problem. Blend files are used in the 3D modeling program Blender. STL files are files used in 3D printing programs. If it says sculpted that means I have sculpted up the model and it's much larger than normal files. If it says rigged that means the model is connected to a skeleton and you can alter the pose of the model. If it says presupported you can print it in resin. I use Prusa Slicer for my support creation. I think that covers then all. I hope that helps!
