The Mephit!
Hello friends! Today I have for you the Mephits from the new Monster Manual! Given the major difference between the different elements comes down to paint jobs and maybe some extra creative crafting I made one version but give it a variety of poses so you can have some tabletop diversity given these guys usually attack in swarms. The versions on the ground are much easier to print in FDM than the flying versions, but if you support settings are tweaked they should come out ok with organic tree supports.
For each of the Mephit variants if you want to get crafty on how they look besides the paint job here are some fun ideas you can play with:
Dust - after painting this you could cover this guy with a matte varnish that blow onto it some fresh cat litter or crafting sand then when it dries its got that earth look.
Ice - use clear material and white highlights when painting. Use a gloss varnish to give it that extra shine.
Magma Mephit - cover him with some crafting glue then after its dried paint it to look like lava.
Mud - same as Magma but painted brown.
Smoke - after painting it dark gray glue on some cotton ball fluff. You can paint the fluff as well but you should try dry brushing so you don't wet the fluff too much and ruin its consistency. This can also work on the Dust one if you want a less grainy look.
Steam - same as Smoke but with lighter colors.
I'm sure folks have other fun crafting ideas but these are some that I think would look neat. Anyway that's all for now. More to come tomorrow! Enjoy!
