Tome of Beasts: The Millitaur, Dune and Map Mimics!
Hello friends! Today I worked on more wild creatures from this book! I made:
Millitaur - this desert predator was absolutely wild to create today! It was a fantastic modeling, sculpting, rigging and posing exercise and I'm really happy with how it turned out! For FDM printing this guy can be tough due to all the legs, but if you angle it so the supports aren't needed in the front legs that should be enough of an angle that you won't need supports under the main legs either. For resin users the usual presupported file is up.
Dune Mimic - this was a pretty damn creative mimic idea! I also enjoyed just making a standard sand dune for its hidden mode. You shouldn't need supports for this and can just print it as is due to its orientation. But if you insist keep it light in the mouth with organic supports.
Map Mimic - a mimic is already bad enough as it is, but when you're lost and finally find the dungeon map to have this horror come out... well that's just extra mean lol. This model also doesn't need supports but if you insist do be careful around the tongue.
Taking Off Tomorrow!
Tomorrow I'm spending time with family so I will not be making any 3D art. I'll get back to it on Friday. I appreciate your patience whenever I step away for a little :)
Stay amazing folks! Have a great day!
