BOOK CLUB 2 IS A GO!

hello gamers(positive),

the next book club is kicking off and I have a plan this time! wahoo!

I've broken down the book into roughly 3 parts that make sense, and discussions will be held with each of those each month.

- Chapters to read by October 11: 1 - 3

• These intro chapters really set a lot of the groundwork about how men exist and are effected by patriarchy, particularly in conditioning men to associate masculinity with all sorts of icky things like domination, control, and emotional silence.

- Chapters to read by November 8: 4–7

• Love is a big connector here, particularly about how men have massive difficulty giving and receiving it in association with the patriarchal ties from chapter 1-3. also VIOLENCE.

Chapters to read by December 6: 8-end (including afterward)

• We bring it all home with the classic "well now what?". plenty of good stuff about how we can work to change the role and vision of masculinity within society for everyone so we can all heal from the really stinky situation we've been given.

On each of these dates I will post my thoughts/ possibly a video again as well as a space for all of you to leave your thought on the section we are reading! If you can't read everything by each date that's still fine i'd love to hear your thoughts anyways, we all got shit going on in our lives, i don't want me giving you homework to be stressful.

I'm still figuring out how a big video call with everyone would work in this situation but I'm thinking I might make a discord or a zoom meeting we all get in. Right now I'm thinking we might just do 1 for this as a post mortem for the whole book because my October is SLAMMED and i don't I can schedule a call for the first part but we will see! If that sounds good let me know! I will eventually put out a poll or something for what timing for a meeting would be best for everyone.
