Another absolutely infuriating side of this from the consumer point of view is that youtube (seemingly purposefully) hides and obfuscates the deletion of channels one follows as much as goddamn possible. MY only way of knowing if one of my several hundred goddamn subscriptions has been nuked off the face of the earth is (checks notes) happening to have one of their videos in a playlist and then seeing the unremoveable "WE NUKED SOME OF THE VIDS HERE LOL" sign on it and trying to process-of-elimination every channel on a 55 video playlist to figure out WHO DIED. And it's so OBVIOUS they do this so that people won't (1) raise a stink about obviously unfair terminations with no notice or (2) be able to fuckin' find that person or their new channel that literally everyone makes right after this happens. And it's so goddamn ANNOYING that despite with the fact I use third party apps to view youtube on (checks notes) every device I own, I'd STILL have to like, bookmark every channel's home page and open them all to see which one had vanished, or follow everyone on other social media that I don't want to have, j u s t to get a heads up about this kind of thing.
