BOAT LIFE: How we Feed our Family in Asia!
Riles and I are always talking about how we want to empower our boys to understand where their food comes from. Not just the eating part… but the tides, the currents, the patience and skill behind what ends up on their plate.
This week, in our little anchorage in Raja Ampat, we were given the most incredible opportunity to spend time with local families - learning to read the water (and those sneaky currents 😅), heading out to spearfish for dinner, and moving through slow days where food is gathered the way it has been for generations.
The people we met here are some of the most welcoming we’ve ever encountered under sail. There are a few moments in this episode where you’ll catch Riles and I looking at each other like… how lucky are we? To raise our family this way. To be trusted with knowledge of this place by people who carry so much wisdom.
Thank you for making this life possible for us, for what is now over a decade!? We really hope you enjoy this early preview of this week's ep. it's one we won't be forgetting any time soon. 💙

So bittersweet and so beautiful! Excited for what's to come. My partner and I are struggling a lot with big decisions about where to live & what to do next. It's hard to know at what point to stop second guessing and just trust the choice you've made. You and Riley have always been an inspiration to me when I am looking for some strength to trust myself & go for the dream. Love you all! 💛 Also laughed so hard at the ass slapping skit 😂
So beautiful, so heart-warming, and I have tears from the last sentence. Yes, I know, we will continue on land, still, the end of a chapter is always emotional, even though it's not an end, just a change. It is what it is.
