Sailing to Hiroshima (Coast Guard Boards Our Boat...)
Japan is keeping us on our toes! In this episode, get ready to immerse yourself in stunning landscapes as we explore the wonders of nature and venture into a city I've always dreamed of visiting... Hiroshima! However, just as Riles and I think we're ready to depart, we're joined by the Japanese Coastguard yet again 😅
We are honestly thrilled to have FINALLY arrived in Japan's breathtaking Inland Sea, everywhere we look is seemingly steeped in history and we find ourselves surrounded by magnificent castles and forts (which our boys are amazed by!!).
PS: Let us know what spots you'd recommend checking out with our little ones...
As always, a massive thank you for your support from our little family. We hope you enjoy this early preview of this week's episode.
Love,
Elay, Riles, Lenny & Darwin

So very thankful you are all ok!
I thought your comments on Hiroshima and the bomb were sensitive and nicely put. It's incredible to see what a large modern city it has become after such a horrendous experience.
Is there a reason why comments are disabled on the YouTube version? Hope you are managing the outcomes of the crash okay and understand if you don’t have time to respond. Just didn’t want you to miss an income opportunity if you’re likely to be offline for a while. Big hugs
Hmm… I wonder why? I find your remarks on the bombing somewhat one dimensional. You cannot understand all that without living through it. I’m all for getting over it. My first ever girlfriend was Japanese. There is a reason why there are so few other sailors around.
I taught English in Tokyo in 1989 for several months in different venues. Amazing experience but unfortunately did not get to very many other cities. Back then, being tall and blond, I got stared at a LOT quite openly. Quite disconcerting. Now many more gaijin are there. You will love it.
Animation is back! And can I say again how much I heart LaVega in Asia!! Heart, heart, heart. Did you know Japan has an indigenous population called Ainu and Ryukyuan!? I didn't know this until our family had exchange students and we visited our local Cowlitz and Chehalis tribes. Homeschool for the win!
Ok…hoping for a definitive answer. Is it “Hero-sheemah” or “Herro-shimma”?
Hi-ro-shi-ma
Absolutely beautiful!
Kai is so adorable!
I'd offer the Hiroshima memorial Nijo Castle Daikakuji Temple Miyajima island
Thanks Darren, noted!
Laying in a rehab hospital bed with two broken legs this is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time
