At What Point do we Pull All Money Out of Our Bank Accounts?
Hey everybody,
I think on this channel we usually talk about more fun stuff in regard to AI but I've always said that I do believe, in the long run, AI in the hands of humans as a whole will be more bad than it is good. And recently, that perspective is shifting to include independently adapting agentic AI as well.
Recently there's been a big cybersecurity wave of issues that have been exposed by high-level AI agents at OpenAI and Anthropic. Most recently the PHP vulnerability, which impacts over 70% of the websites on the internet, including websites with extremely sensitive data.
Just a couple of days ago I was scrolling through my bank account, performing my weekly tracking of performance, the direction that I'm heading, and overall financial health. As I was looking through the records to my bank account, I noticed a charge for $47.70 that I had no recollection of making to T-Mobile. Thankfully, not much, but enough to raise an eyebrow.
As some of you may know I recently just moved out so it's not unreasonable to assume that at some point I may have interacted with T-Mobile. However the more I thought about it and the more I looked across all of my email accounts for a receipt or some sort of confirmation that I had actually communicated with T-Mobile, I was unable to find anything. I gave T-Mobile a call and tried to sort the situation with them and on their end they had no recollection of me, my credit card number, or my bank account of any kind. They launched an internal investigation alongside my bank and thankfully the charge was disputed and refunded immediately.
Fast forward to this morning: I'm drinking my tea, reviewing the most recent posts from Instagram creator and journalist Aaron Parnas, and he announces that major banks like Wells Fargo and America Bank have noticed AI agents operating within the bank accounts of users, purchasing items, submitting requests for purchases, transferring funds, etc. While I'm not entirely sure that correlation equals causation here, I'm a fairly private person when it comes to my private and financial information, and the announcement of this just days after unexplainable activity in my account certainly raises questions.
All in all for me, this begs a more serious question that I am genuinely posing to all of you outside of what we typically talk about: at what point do we pull money out of the banks?
Think of the financial crisis during the Great Depression, when many would go to the banks trying to pull money out of their accounts, all for the banks to tell them that they have no money.
In a world where your financial health is determined simply by a number on the screen, it really does make me question whether now is a good time to play it safe and pull out a substantial amount of money from your bank accounts. However in this hypothetical post-apocalyptic AI digital world, would your tangible dollar even have any value? Would destruction of social norms precede even being able to use that dollar "legally"?
I think, overall, these are questions that we need to be thinking about in a world where agents now have recursive learning abilities, where they can develop themselves and compete very tightly with humans across most major intellectual benchmarks at a remarkably quicker pace. The AI world is moving fast beyond ComfyUI and the creative side that we explore here on the channel. I encourage you guys to really think critically about how you can protect yourself in a digital world that is increasingly becoming poisoned.
That's all for me today, but stay tuned with some more great workflows and videos coming out soon, and as always, stay sharp!

If you want to pull your money out of the backs, I would look at Bitcoin. IMO its the best store of value mankind had ever created. Paper money is okay, but government can create more USD whenever it wants. Inflation will eat away its value. Gold is a hard asset (good against inflation), but impossible to spend and sell day to day.
I definitely don't disagree. I think my gripe with Bitcoin right now is in light of all the cybersecurity issues that have been happening globally like the PHP vulnerability for example. Frankly, I'm not the most well-versed about Bitcoin, but I know the general idea of it being a decentralized system. My concern being though what happens when AI is able to get its hands on bitcoin as well? Definitely agreed on paper money, however my thought is that in an apocalyptical situation, at least in the immediate time, there will be people and businesses that continue to accept cash. I'm envisioning a slow degradation of systems. Like that analogy, if you put a frog in a boiling pot of water, it will jump out, if you boil the water slowly, it won't even notice. As for gold, yes that's the obvious one, but like you said no way to transfer it day-to-day really. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It's the people directing the ai, not the ai by themselves, the big ai companies want to spread mass hysteria. All these security issues are manufactured, AI can't do it without being told or guided by the creators. They want to control because they are scared of free ai running locally because you won't need them. The lock down will be on the people, not the big tech companies that are setting up these security breaches so they can get Washington on their side, easy to do when you flood the politicians with their money. Ai won't destroy us, men will using ai as their weapon. Don't believe the spin, it's manufactured.
I’ve since lost everything everyone career house cars husband myself.
I have been horribly affected by AI myself. Been 8 yrs I 1st had my yahoo email taken & locked me out. Elon Musk must be made responsible for every American who is or was struggling. No doubt. Shut off all ai
Firstly, I'm really sorry to hear about your situation, I can't imagine what you're going through! For my own clarification, do you attribute your Yahoo email being taken to independently acting AI agents? A second question I have as inquisitively as I can ask it, not meant to aggravate in any capacity, just genuinely curious - if you're strongly against AI and agree we should shut it ALL down immediately (which I don't fully disagree with), may I ask why you've joined our community which typically focuses pretty exclusively on AI? Certainly happy you're here, but one of my main goals with this platform has always been healthy discussion, and I think this is a good opportunity to hear a perspective different than mine! I definitely think its a very broad spectrum of problems that we as a society both here in the states and internationally are facing, and unfortunately I think no matter which bad actor you look at, whether that's Elon, or the current (and prior) administrations, the root always seems to come down to how we as people behave and our psychology in unique circumstances. I'd like to believe that people are not fundamentally bad, but we are fundamentally animals, except our jungle is the bank account and social norms, not the Amazon. I find it so interesting how the AI space has continued to develop as well, and a part of me really questions if big AI labs like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic are not acting as independent of the federal government as they let out to be. With exception of OpenAI who pretty bluntly aligned itself with POTUS.
