She's Not Falling for It! 😂 | Moonshadow EP 9 | Thai GL Reaction

With the finale just around the corner, Key faces another unexpected challenge: Chan's mother, Chanya, and her suspicious illness.

Forced into the role of caregiver, Key finds herself navigating manipulation, hostility, and one very determined mother. But rather than losing her patience, Key responds with kindness, quick wit, and a newfound confidence that shows just how far she's come.

Meanwhile, Jay and Elle bring some much-needed humor as Chan and Key's relationship continues to grow stronger.

With only one episode remaining, can Key finally win over Chan's mother, or does Chanya have another trick up her sleeve?

The penultimate episode „Ask for the Moon” starts with a longer version of the end of episode 8, with Chan trying to help Key overcome her trauma of finding her mother dead in the bathtub. So they enter her mother’s bed room, and Key is very reluctant and scared at first, but slowly they proceed to the bathroom anyway, with Chan telling her repeatedly that it’s okay. Key sees that the bathroom contains no traces of her mother’s s*icide, as Chan tells her that it was just the past. They hug as Key slowly takes in the pristine bathroom. After that, Key dreams of her mother, who asks if she has had a good night’s sleep, and calls her incredible and the best. They assure each other that they love each other, and her mother claims the Key doesn’t need to be sad, feel hurt, or feel guilty anymore, as the love she gave her made her very happy. She wants Key to promise her than she will go on living a happy life, and Key promises it as they hug. Key wakes up smiling in Chan’s arms, and she reports that she had a good dream about her mother, and that she promised her to be happy. Key claims that Chan is her happiness, and key kiss a few times. Later, Chan is waiting for Key at the hospital where she saw a psychiatrist for the first time in a while, and she reports that they talked a lot as she needed to update her about her condition. The doctor said she made the right decision to receive counselling again, and Key will continue to receive counselling and take the prescribed medication. Chan asks if there’s anything she can help with, and Key reports that the doctor thought that having someone she loves and understands her by her side would be a big help, and she already has her and everyone in her family, she claims. She that’s Chan for keeping her company on that day, but Chan thinks of it as her duty as she’s her girlfriend, and Key thanks her for being her girlfriend as well, with Chan promising to be by her side and stick with her every day, and Key promising to stick to her like she’s attached to her at the hip. Chan proposed to go shopping for Simba’s stuff, she just wants to buy him something, and Key plays the cat again as she asks if she doesn’t want to buy anything for her. But Chan promises to take care of this one for the rest of her life as they leave the hospital. Sun is leaving for Paris for a shooting, and Chanya is sad because she just came back from Milan, but Sun claims that when an opportunity comes her way, she has to take it. She will be away for around two weeks, and Chanya asks who is keeping her company until then, Sun claims she had a maid, but Chanya claims she can’t replace her. Sun suggests she finds something to do if she’s lonely, she is sure that she has many thing she wants to do, especially meddling in Chan’s life. She wants her to be nice to Chan while she’s away. She doesn’t react to it as Sun leaves, and Sun looks after her mother with worry in her face. Chan and Key come to her office, with Key complaining because it’s early, but Sun arguing she should do with she always does when she comes to her office: staring at her. Key realizes that Chan noticed her staring, but Chan claims it would be weird if she didn’t know, as Key couldn’t stop staring at her. Key claims that they’ve always stuck together lately – just as Chanya joins them claiming they should spend some time apart, She asks Chan if she knows what she needs to do, and Chan tells her not to worry. Chanya leaves again, and Chan apologizes to Key for her mother’s behavior and shouldn’t have told her to come with her, but Key claims that she did that because she was worried about her. And she claims that Chanya is really the final boss, just as Sun said, but Chan thinks that she can win her over. Chanya goes to Jay who is smoking, claiming that she thought she wasn’t this kind of person, but she isn’t talking about the smoking – she thought that Jay wasn’t someone who gives up easily. She claims that they have the same enemy so she shouldn’t give up yet. Chanya next eves Simba with disdain, as Key and Chan return to their apartment and realize that Chanya is there, having brought some suitcases with her. Chan asks if she is sleeping over, and Chanya claims to be lonely because Sun went abroad for work, so she wants to spend some time with her. Chan asks how long is she going to stay, and Chanya claims it will be indefinitely. She asks whose cat is this, and Key admits that it’s her cat and calls her ‘mother’, then corrects herself to ‘madam’ until she feels comfortable being called ‘mother’ – one of several times she does this throughout the episode. She wants them to put the cat somewhere else, claiming she’s allergic to it, with Chan claiming she never had an allergy before, but she claims she allergic to all kinds of animal fur. Key promises to keep Simba in the bedroom only, with Chanya claiming that it’s not enough, and only relenting as Chan asks her if she doesn’t feel bad for Simba, but warning her not to let it come near her as she doesn’t want to see it. The next morning, Chanya claims to not feel well and is going to be sick, and she wants someone to take care of her right now – and selects Key as she doesn’t have to go to work with her. Key agrees to it and Chanya orders eggs Benedict, avocado salad, Kyoho grapes and mineral water for breakfast, and for lunch wants to get paella, with Chan claiming she can order it from a restaurant, but Key agreeing to make it for her. Chan doesn’t want Key to be alone with Chanya but Key claims it’s okay. She thinks Chanya must be up to something, but Key claims to also have something up her sleeve. But she won’t tell her what it is. Chan wants to take leave, but Key claims even if she did that, Chanya wouldn’t leave her alone, and it would give her a chance to criticize her daughter. So, Chan leaves for work after kissing Key once. Chan observes her condo using her phone just as Phu comes in making a long face, and Chan claims every time her does that, it’s always about Jay. And he admits it’s about Jay, and won’t bother her again after this, but tells her he’s never seen her being such a wreck and wants her to go talk to her for one last time. As so, she meets Jay again who is glad that she came to see her. Chan wants to know what she wants to talk about, and Jay asks what she thinks they would be like now, if she hadn’t left her, would they still love each other, would they get married and have their happy ending. But Chan claims that for their relationship, it’s too late, and the thing that she said will never happen, as they are not in love anymore and everything about them is just the past. Chan wants Jay to move on and argues she needs to focus on the present. Jay argues that she wants to have her in her present, but Chan argues that they can only be friends and claims this is the last time that they talk. Jay admits that she never thought she could be such a loser, and Chan claims she should go back to the old her, then. Jay asks for another chance, but this is something she can’t give her, claims Chan, as she really loves Key. She thinks their love is better left as a memory, and wants her to remember only the good times that they had. Even though their love has ended, she doesn’t want it to be ruined. Chan can put herself back together, as so can Jay. Jay nods and cries, and asks Chan to be careful, because Chanya will never accept Key. She thanks her for the warning and leaves, with Jay starting to cry again. Chanya apparently went shopping, with Key carrying all the bags, but she left her handbag in the car, so instructs key to get it from her without leaving that bags with her or up in the room – so she goes back to the car carrying all her bags. After that, she presents her paella to her. Chanya claims it looks similar to the recipe and Key admits that she cooked it for her family before, and they said it was delicious. She learned from a talented chef, she claims – from Niam, who got the recipe from YouTube. Chanya claims that if it isn’t good, she won’t eat it, and Key agrees and claims she won’t either. But Chanya apparently likes it, and after Key excuses herself to check on Simba, Chanya really digs in. Chan tries to call Key but doesn’t get her, and she looks the camera again to observe what is going on in her condo. She sees Chanya enjoying the meal, and then turns the camera to find Key who is presenting Simba to her, having realized that she’s watching because the camera turned. Jay awakes next to Elle again, and realizes she has snuggled up to her. She exclaims “Sh*t!” and “Again?” as Elle tells her she got drunk again, and wants her to return her pajamas that she wearing washed before returning. Jay wants to know what happened the night before and Elle asks if she doesn’t remember what they did as she touches her face
And we get a flashback to the night before when Phu took Jay to the bar to meet Elle, and admits that he invited her. Jay wanted to leave but Elle held her back asking why does she always keep running away from her, and teasing her about having feelings for her. But Jay claimed no way, and Elle invited her to have drinks together, admitting that it’s a date – a friend date, nothing romantic or sexual. Elle dared her to drink a vodka, and she emptied the glass in one go, living up to her reputation as a boozer, Elle claimed. They continued to drink and dance, and they talked about Key with Jay wanting to know what’s so special about that girl, and why Chan’s so devoted to her. But Elle claimed that it was no longer her business, so why was so she worried about Chan? But Jay claimed how could she not, and points out at what she’s doing, with Elle claiming that she didn’t what her to fuss over her. Elle argued that the only thing Joy could do was having a drink, and so they drank a few vodkas more, as Jay admitted she secretly did some digging on Elle, and reports that she was the best female pilot in her class and that she liked secretly dating flight attendants. She got close to her and admitted that she was no flight attendant, but invited her to keep her company for the night. Back in bed, Jay asks Elle if they did sleep together, and Elle is having a bit of fun before claiming that the closest Jay got to her was when she rolled over to hold her when she woke up. Nothing happened to them because Elle rejected her, she claims, after she got wasted and threw up on the side of the road again. She needed to take her back to her room, she changed her clothes and then put her into bed because she felt sorry for her. Jay doesn’t believe it, but Elle says sorry, but it’s true, and calls her darling. She wants her to take a shower so she can takes her home, thus finding out where she lives so she knows where she can drop her off the next time. Jay rushes to take a shower, and Elle is clearly having fun with this. Elle takes her home, and Jay thanks her for the ride. Elle then invites her for a coffee the next day, with Jay wanting to know again if she’s asking her out on a date, but Elle claims it’s just friends hanging out and asks her again back if Jay is having feelings for her, but Jay is claiming she doesn’t have feelings to her, and her answer to the ‘friend date’ is also no. Elle doesn’t argue anymore but wishes her a nice day and drives off, with Jay expecting her to try a little harder. Chanya and Key join Chan for dinner, and both Key and Chanya think the other one will regret Chan’s decision. Chanya wants to know if Key really thinks Chan will choose Key over her mother, but Key claims that she doesn’t have to choose, she can have them both. But Chanya argues that they will be only taking out their hatred on each other, and it will be very toxic. But Key claims why do they have to hate each other, to which Chanya only says: “no way.” At dinner, Chan first claims that she loves her mother, and she invited her to join them that day because she wants her to be present for the most important moment of her life. And she goes down on one knee and proposes to Key in front of her mother – with a pair of earrings. She asks her to marry her, but as Chanya gets up, the penultimate episode ends. ______ This was a rather strange penultimate episode; while Key’s trauma was dealt with a little too simply for my taste, much of the episode was IMHO wasted on Chan and Jay effectively saying goodbye once again – which IMO we had before – whereas the fallout of that – Jay meeting with Elle again – I can live with, if only Elle seemed a bit more predatory this time getting Jay drunk intentionally. The rest of the hour tackled the ‘final boss’ – Chan’s mother – which will drag into the finale for sure. I found it odd that Chan proposed with earrings. But Chanya is really the only obstacle left for Chan and Key before they can live happily ever after – we shall see in the finale. 😉
