Cole is already carrying more than most teenagers should. After losing her mother, she moves to Oregon to live with her estranged father and finds herself trying to navigate a new life while still dealing with her grief.

Then she meets Sonya.

Their connection starts innocently enough, but friendship quickly gives way to an attraction neither girl can completely ignore. While Cole begins allowing herself to embrace what she's feeling, Sonya struggles with fear, expectations, and what acknowledging those feelings could mean for the life she's built around her.

What follows is a messy, tender and sometimes painful story of first love—where wanting someone and being ready to choose them aren't always the same thing.
