After pushing herself to the limit during a dangerous mission, Tharn finally gets a chance to escape the chaos with Vicky. Away from duty, family expectations, and the investigation, the two allow their relationship to deepen—leading to an intimate turning point neither can deny.

But while Tharn and Vicky are enjoying their brief escape, Vicky's father is captured and Tharn's true identity is exposed to him. The situation takes an even darker turn when the Minister contacts Tharn through Vicky's phone, demanding all the evidence she has collected and offering her something far more personal in return: the opportunity to finally take revenge for her father's death.

We start with a little scene with Bawornthat and Burin talking about Mr. Phakphum; he calls him naïve in regard to his daughter for not telling her that he is sick, making her submissive and naïve – a perfect daughter-in-law, he thinks. Bawornthat is distracted by a text coming from Thara, as Burin continues to feel a bit sorry for Dr. Ann – not because his son killed her, but because he lost his route to information about Mr. Phakphum. He then realizes he’s talking to himself

because Bawornthat has left the room to make a call – to Thara – she is awfully friendly on the phone, but we get a flashback of her talking to Pete and learning that Burin’s wife owns the company that actually acquired the land in her old neighborhood – a classic tactic to shield Burin himself from any repercussions, and he has created a web of companies that are laundering money and moving assets like it’s a game – and the main shareholder of these companies is Bawornthat. She continues to talk to Bawornthat and makes a date for the following night. She tells Vicky that she has to ‘work’ that night, and Vicky is sad that she has to work again – and for that unit, because it’s way too dangerous for a woman. She proposes a transfer, and can get her father on it, but Thara likes her job, and she won’t use any privileges no matter what, and ends the conversation by says that they are not going to talk about this anymore. She then apologizes for being this rude and excuses it by being tired – but Vicky is just worried about her, and suggests they find something to relax. She suggests going abroad for four to five days, but Thara fears she won’t have that much free time, which Vicky figured, and will come up with a compatible plan for her. Thara hugs her from behind and apologizes for being busy all the time, arguing that she deserves someone who has more time for her – but she’s already made her choice, and as long as their time is real she’s fine. They share a few cheek kisses and hugs, and we see Thara contemplating how real they actually are. At night, she is seeing Bawornthat, even though Pete thinks she’s out of her mind and warns her that he is dangerous, and might be even a killer. But Thara will take care of herself, she promises. She sends him her location, then Bawornthat meets her. She lowkey flirts with him and asks about Vicky, and he tells her that his father wants them to marry, but he is not into arranged marriages. His father and Vicky father used to be friends. Vicky never mentioned to be close to his family, Thara remark, but what does Vicky know, Bawornthat replies – and he shows her a photo of Burin and Phakphum. As the night continues, she drink a bit of win – which Bawornthat has drugged, and she is feeling dizzy soon thereafter. Bawornthat tries to persuade her to rest at his room – but luckily, Pete rescues her and takes her home to Vicky, just as Burin arrives and stops the situation with his son from getting out of hand, apologizing for his behavior. Thara and Pete leave and Burin tells his assistant to find out who they are. Thara is mad that Bawornthat could drug her, she only took a tiny sip of wine and observed him closely, but Pete argues that he probably has a whole system for this. Vicky comes out and worries about her state, but Thara argues that she’s fine and only got a few drinks. Vicky takes over from Pete and carries Thara inside

where Thara admits that she’s been drugged, but argues she’s fine now. She gets close to Vicky, but Vicky remains skeptical that that’s the drug talking and initially resists her advances. But Thara argues that it’s not because of the drugs – it’s because of her, she the first and only one, and Vicky is unable to resist after that. The next morning, they wake up in bed, and Vicky still isn’t sure that what happened, happened only because Thara was drugged, but Thara asks her to listen again now that she’s sober, so that she can prove she truly wants her. But this time, Vicky pins her down in bed, and they are making love again. After that, they dress up and exchange a few kisses before Thara sees that she has picture of them as kids on her makeup table. This photo looks really old, she remarks, and Vicky tells her that it show Looknam, who was like an older sister to her. But she only knew her for a short time before their parents moved away, as her father told her. Vicky tells her that she was on only child and felt lonely as she met Looknam, who was like an elder sister to her. And we get a flashback to when Looknam met her as she was getting ready for school to give her the letter she promised her at the birthday party. And they played together as kids. But as Vicky’s mother passed away, the house became silent, and it made her miss Looknam even more. She’s still waiting for her second letter – and we get another flashback, this time from Thara’s side, who even drafted a second letter after her dad passed away, but her mother tore it up and forbade her to contact that family ever again. We get another flashback of Thara and Vicky driving on a motorcycle compared to Vicky and Looknam riding a bike together. Then, we switch to Thara, Ken, Pete and colleagues raiding the bar – just as Bawornthat calls her again – where she was drugged. They find plenty of evidence – dugs of all kinds, including the “date rape” kind – and photo of the ladies that they were used on. Burin learns of this from a news report as he learns of the real identity of Thara and Pete. He also learns of blood-stained clothing found – apparently Bawornthat’s from after he killed Dr. Ann. He scold his son as he returns home, slapping him and accusing him of bringing the war to their doorstep, because he just had to drug a cop. He thought that having her would make things easier, but Burin tells him that probably wasn’t his brain doing the thinking, and calls him stupid. And he forbids him to do anything unless he orders him to do it. Then, he tries to get Ken to dispose of the evidence of his son murdering Ann – but Ken doesn’t budge to bribes nor to threats, and even records the call. He plays the call for all his colleagues, including Thara and Pete. Burin then gets a call from his assistant and learns that Thara is the daughter of the “stubborn activist” that died almost two decades ago. He wants to know if Phakphum knows this, but he doesn’t, and he concludes that she’s getting close to Phakphum and Vicky for revenge. He argues she should deal with Phakphum first, then they will deal with her afterwards – a woman by herself wouldn’t be a problem. Bawornthat wants to know what his father does to Thara, but he claims he buried her, and scold him for still caring about her, because she is with Vicky. Vicky proudly watches the news footage with Thara; she now gets why Mali is such a fangirl for Thara. And she found a great place for their trip, and even discussed it with her dad, who finished his conference and is resting now for a bit – as should they, Vicky argues. So, where are they going, Thara asks – but Vicky doesn’t tell her yet. Ken and Pete are cataloguing evidence, as Phakphum and X show up, needing urgent help with something, and this needs to stay under wraps. Meanwhile, Thara and Vicky are reaching their vacation destination – Vicky’s mother’s old house which the family has kept but hasn’t used since her death. This house look like it’s lived-in – but Vicky mentions they retain a gardener and a maid for the property. They carry their bags and a few groceries inside and Vicky starts making dinner, with Thara helping. Then, she puts the bags inside their bedroom, but uses the time to also raid the place and finds some documents, then pretends to have found an old photo album, and they look though it. The get to the birthday celebration photo and Thara reacts to seeing her father again, but pretend to marvel at the beautiful memories, when the reality wasn’t like it at all. Vicky is startled but probably thinks she is talking about her mother getting cancer. Meanwhile, Phakphum and X are returning home – and are immediately taken away by Burin’s men who kidnap them at gunpoint and take them to him. He wants to know if he already knows who Thara is

who is meanwhile eating with Vicky, who want to know about her childhood. Thara gives her the cliff’s notes version: She is an only child with a mother in the United States and a father who passwd away when she was ten years old. When she was twelve, her mother relocated to the US, leaving her with an aunt for a while. The plan for her was to move to US once her mother was settled, but when the time came, Thara didn’t want to go anymore, because if she did, she feared that she would forget what happened here. Vicky argues that they have many things in common, and she now knows why they clicked right away. Thara argues that it must be fate. Then, Phakphum calls – but it’s actually Burin on the phone, and he wants to speak to Thara. He doesn’t mince words: hand over everything sh has about him, or Phakphum will die. But Thara argues that they are on the same side, so why should she care. Phakphum shouts into the call that she should give all the evidence to her superior and shouldn’t tell Vicky anything – which gets Vicky agitated as she hears her father’s voice and gets back the phone and puts in on speaker just as Burin teases her that she probably wants to know how her dad really died – and requests she brings the evidence to him, because if Phakphum dies by his hand, he argues, she won’t get her revenge. He ends the call, leaving Vicky frantic, who is asking “Revenge? What is it all about?” And as Vicky wants to know where her dad is and what the hell is going on, the penultimate episode ends. ___ This perfectly raised the stakes, leading to Vicky confronting Thara, who acted increasingly reckless this time around, letting herself getting drugged by Bawornthat wasn’t the greatest idea, as was Bawornthat drugging a police officer, but he has always acted recklessly and stupid. Vicky and Thara spent some time together and got as close as they could, but this was all tinged by Thara’s eventual betrayal. I’ll be sad to leave “Heart Code” when it ends next week – it is the second-most compelling GL drama of the year after “The Earth” so far.
