We start the penultimate episode with Jiu’s funeral, with Si making the preparations as Klao is just shocked. Si wants them to go and change for the funeral, and Klao want to know what about the funeral meal, but Si and the Aunties have already taken care of it and Si reports that Jiu come into someone’s dream and wished for minced pork rice porridge. And Klao laments the Jiu has been appearing in everyone’s dreams – everyone but hers. But Si claims he probably doesn’t want her to worry. And Klao asks Jiu in front of his portrait if he has found peace now and if she doesn’t have to worry about him anymore. They drive home, then later drive back. And upon returning, Klao tells Si that Jiu didn’t want them to wear black for his funeral because he wanted to see everyone happy. And Si tells her not to be sad for too long and live her life happily. Later, Si falls asleep exhausted at home while Klao is drying her hair, and Klao tucks her in. She thanks her for helping her arguing that without her, she would have fallen apart. We return to the funeral once more, with Klao claiming that Jiu originally to hold the prayers for just one night and then cremate him, but Klao wanted him to have a full seven-day funeral, but that last day has finally come, she argues. Si asks for forgiveness for all the bad things she did or said to him, and claims she’ll forgive him too and calls him “damn tapeworm” a final time. After the – this time inappropriately cheery – credits we join Si at home who is working as her parents and sister arrive. They are worried because she hasn’t been home in a while, but he claims everything is fine, she was just busy with Jiu’s funeral and with the housing project she is developing. She then hand their 100 million Baht (roughly 3 million US$) check as her dowry but it is signed by her, not Klao. She wants her not to be burdened by it, but her family isn’t sure that Klao will agree to this. Her father first wants to know about the housing she is developing, and after he knows she serious about it wants her to keep the money for her project, and mentions they don’t want anything from Klao, as long as she loves and cares for Si. Klao comes to the family gathering worried, but her father just claims to wants to see whether his daughter is living comfortably, and Si proposes to show them how they are living exactly. They take the Vespa and the sidecar and a five drive through the vast rice fields which all belong to Klao’s family, Si claims, and Klao add that Si was crucial in the marketing of the local goods, with her father claiming that must be first time Si is actually useful. Then, Si want to introduce then to her best friends … … and shows them the buffalos Muedmon and Pidpee. Her parents are astonished at how much Si has changed, and Song wants to ride a buffalo, so she gets up an Muedmon’s back and they are all strolling through the fields. Later, Klao takes them to the local market to sample its contents. After returning, Klao starts to cook them a meal, and her mother and sister claim to never have witnessed Si being so relaxed, cheerful and happy. And her father is now convinced that Klao can make her really happy. Si promises to be a lovable daughter and sister from now on. But Song argues that there is another person who loved Si very much and points to Klao. Klao wants them to stay the night but the family isn’t prepared for an overnight stay and doesn’t want to impose on Klao, but Klao wants one more thing - to call them her family because her parents passed away a long time ago. Si’s family is delighted to get another daughter / sister and they hug each other. Then Si want their wedding to take place there instead of Bangkok… …and she gets her wish, because it’s Wedding Day, and both Klao and Si are wearing traditional costumes. Si’s parents and sister are all crying happy tears because they are part of it. Her mother thinks she’s getting old, but her father thinks he is still young. They take a photo together. Then, the procession arrives with Klao upfront, and Si sees them out of a window and begins to descend. Klao and Si promise to love each other forever, then step outside to receive the cheers of the villagers with Klao claiming she has a wife now. We see that their wedding day is actually today, May 15th, 2026, and the exchange rings. Afterwards, the parents decorate their bed with petals and which them a long and happy life together. Klao and Si lie on the bed, and Klao shouts out “Si is Klao’s wife now” and they kiss. After the wedding, Jane arrives and wants to talk to Si, but Si is in the bridal chamber ceremony right now, Phuang claims, so she can’t come out. Jane then wants to wait, but Phuang wants to know if she’s a friend of Si, and she exclaims that she’s her ex, which gets Phuang to exclaim the she is “The bitch who got pooped on by Jon” and laughs at her, but Jane soon turns to violence. After the fight, Phuang is visibly bruised as Klao comes out of the bedroom to receive the news that SI’s ex has arrived. He gives a visual recap of the encounter, then shows her where Jane is now: locked in a storage room. Klao gets in with her, and Jane wants to call the police. But Klao told her before to stay away from Si. Jane hands her the signed letter claiming to stay away from them, but claims she has received the 10,000,000 THB yet. Klao says she can get that from her lawyer, but Jane thinks she getting scammed and assaults Klao. In the end, she is locked up again, this time, with her hand of feet bound. Meanwhile, Klao and Si are making a few more photos. Then, we move on to the evening ceremony which is just a big party. Klao wants them to just eat well and have lots of fun. Si just wants to be accepted as a real daughter-in-law of the community. And they kiss. Meanwhile, Phuang is dropping Jane in the middle of nowhere to fend for herself. At home, the water is out so they have to share a bathtub, again, Si claims, but Klao is distracted by a photo of the late Jiu, and thinks their wedding would have been even better with him, but Si thinks it would have caused headache at he would have probably forced them to dance nonstop, but she misses him, too. They shampoo each other’s hard as Si sings “Melon Farm Girl” and she claims to like the song now. Later, they are watching the stars from their yard, and Si claims that the weather is so nice today, that they should sleep outside, but Klao claims that they’ll probably be bitten by mosquitoes all over, or catch a cold because they would be covered in dew all night. Then, Si admits that she has no clue what married life is like, but Klao argues that from now on- they have to talk to each other, and slowly learn to understand each other. That’s where the lovey-dovey stuff end, as Si throws a package out of the house in a high arc and want to know how was that woman, arguing she only went to Bangkok for a few days to oversee construction, and there’s already a woman coming to see her at home? Klao claims that was Tuktah and she knows her since she was little as a neighbor’s daughter, and she brought her salted eggs as a gift, that’s all. Klao tries her best to call her down, claiming she loves her and all, and argues that other people might not see her as lovable, and Si promises to work on herself – but she isn’t allowed to get close to other women anymore, because she married to her. Klao wants Si to be nice again and treats her carefully, but Si argues that people who do something wrong always try to cover it up by being extra nice. Klao argues that in a small community people have to help each other out, but Si thinks that why Klao has women flocking around her. Klao kisses her a few times and it seems to be working, as they fall into bed thereafter. Then, of course, we have to meet Tuktah (who is played by Belle) and she greets Klao by shooting at her with a water pistol. She claims to have moved back to her parents’ home but can’t farm or her skin will get ruined, so she thought of growing vegetables instead and wants her to teach her how. She asks her about farming and keeping buffaloes in a stream-of-consciousness monologue that would take ages to transcribe, all the while getting close to Klao in a way that Si certainly wouldn’t like. Upon her return, she tells Si that Tuktah has moved back home and that she’s bound to run into her sometimes, so completely avoiding her would be hard, she argues. She claims she like a little sister to her, so they will hate to see each other normally, she argues. Then, she claims that if it’s really that hard to avoid her, she will take care of it herself. She drive off, and after sunset she finally stops. Klao wants her to go home, but Si claims Tuktah is just her neighbor, why does she have to protect her so much, and she claims that Klao hasn’t yelled once at her since they met. Is she really that important to her, Si asks, and argues, that whatever is wrong with her Klao doesn’t need to care for her. Klao thinks sch is acting ridiculous, but Si thinks that being jealous of her girlfriend (her wife actually) is okay, and tells her not to let her see her face again. Later, Klao knocks on their bedroom door, pleading with her to let her in, but Si ignores her, so that Klao eventually sleeps on the couch in the living room. In the morning, Klao wakes up to the sounds or a pick up truck, and she runs outside where Si has just loaded up Pidpee, Muedmon and Jon. And that’s where the second-to-last episode ends. ____ The penultimate episode had a funeral and a wedding, but missed much of the zany humor that previous episodes had. I was surprised to find the wedding in this episode, but I guess the classic third-act breakup this time happens as a married couple. I was entertained by Belle as Tuktah going full crazy with her character, but found much of the reaction by Si to be blown out of proportion; she should be more secure in Klao’s love for her. But this is probably only a very temporary setback as bringing the animals to Bangkok clearly is a harebrained idea. From a storytelling perspective, I think it was a strategic error to let Jiu die this early, as he was comedy gold. But the end will come next week, I any case.
Si jealousy is scary
