4 Elements: The Fire | EP 3 | Fai Couldn't Hide Her Feelings Anymore
As Fai continues insisting that she can't stand Kaphrao, her carefully crafted tough exterior begins to crack under the watchful eyes of the Watinwanich family. What starts as playful teasing quickly turns into an intervention, as the cousins and their wives expose the jealousy and unresolved feelings Fai has tried so hard to hide. With childhood wounds resurfacing and emotions becoming impossible to ignore, Episode 3 shifts from fiery rivalry to heartfelt vulnerability, revealing that Fai's greatest battle may not be with Kaphrao—but with herself.

From the flashbacks it look like she was secretly crushing on her that's the only reason she keep taking it cause if she didn't have feelings for her she would ignore her and not even entertain Fai's behavior
Episode 3 starts as Fai and Kaphrao are driving the roughly 500km to Hua Hin; on the way, they stop at a café where Fai buys Kaphrao a drink, and tells her to stop making such a grumpy face. She remarks the she’s taking her to congratulate Nam, not to a slaughterhouse, and tells her to act more human. But Kaphrao doesn’t want to go and asks her why she changed her mind to accept taking her. Fai claims it’s fun to see her grumpy. She remarks that she has three older cousins; Kaphrao is not interested, but Fai claims she doesn’t want to embarrass her in front of them by doing something stupid. Kaphrao claims Akanee already told her everything, and Fai accuses her of acting all innocent towards him to pry it out of him, and argues it’s lucky that she decided to drag her out with her, otherwise she’d have more chances to seduce him. Kaphrao calls her full of crap, and maintains that she loves Akanee as a (replacement) father. Fai tells her he’s not her father, and to stop stealing someone else’s dad. Kaphrao calls her eight years old and jealous, but Fai claims she is older than her, but Kaphrao maintains that she is childish, tells her to go back to her seat and calls her a chauffeur. Fai seriously consider letting her walk there as they are going back to the car. Akanee is in his office as Panee comes in and scolds him for allowing Kaphrao to go to Hua Hin with Fai. He claims that it is training for work, and he wants her to know Fai’s cousins, but Panee claims she is an outsider and why would he want to introduce her to them. He claims that Kaphrao is Fai’s assistant and should know everything, so it would be easier when they work together, but Panee claims he wants to introduce her to everyone in his family, as he’s always treated Kaphrao as if she were his own child. But Akanee claims he is just fond of her, and pities her as an orphan, and tells her not to be so biased and narrow-minded. But Panee warns him to make sure she doesn’t do anything to hurt Fai, or else she will pay for it. We switch to the Ladara resort and spa in Hua Hin where Lada and Nam are instructing the staff, as Fai and Kaphrao arrive with flowers. Fai doesn’t bother to introduce Kaphrao to them and praise her super-sized bouquet she bought for them instead, and wishes their new project makes their business grow and a thousand times richer. Nam doubts it will make her as rich as Fai and claims Akanee own a lot of businesses more than she does. But Fai claims that many of his side pieces are trying to get their hands on his money – and looks at Kaphrao. She only then introduces Kaphrao as Guinea Pig, ahem, Athittaya or Kaphrao as one of father’s kept women, claiming she just graduated and he wants her to help with work. She also introduces Nam and Lada to her, and she greets them properly. Lada invites them for longer, but Fai claims she has to leave the day after tomorrow because she is worried about work, which surprises Nam, because she never used to care about work. Fai changes the subject by asking about Din, Lom and the others, and Nam says Din and Rose have already arrived, but Lom and Blew are still in Madelin and won’t make it. Fai had hoped all the Watinwanich sisters would be present this time, but Nam wants to show Fai her room, and Lada handles Kaphrao. Later, Kaphrao takes a few snapshot of the view as Fai calls her to get changed for dinner because her cousins invited them to go out. Kaphrao claims she isn’t going and Fai can spend time with the Watinwanich family all she likes. But Fai claims her cousins told her to invite her, otherwise she wouldn’t have asked. Kaphrao claims she doesn’t know any of them, but Fai claims she has already met Nam and Lada, and tells her if she doesn’t go, she will tell her father she disrespected her family. Kaphrao agrees to go to make her shut up. Fai follows her as she goes, because she’s afraid that she will ditch the date, and tells her to wear something pretty and not dress up like a servant. In the evening, Fai and Kaphrao join Nam, Din, Lada and Rose for dinner and Fai claims the view is fantastic. Din asks her what took her so long, and Fai claims that someone’s been dawdling and looks at Kaphrao. Rose invites Kaphrao to take a seat as she asks Lada if that is the girl Fai brought with her (which she confirms), but Fai claims she didn’t want to bring her though, and argues that Akanee made her do it. Kaphrao introduces herself to Din and Rose, and Din claims it’s an unusual name, with Rose adding that she’s very sweet-looking, and Din agreeing that she looks really cute – which gets Fai jealous. Lada argues that Kaphrao must be very close to Fai, as she usually doesn’t see her with anyone. But Kaphrao claims it was Akanee who told her to bring her along, and she didn’t have a choice but to comply. But Nam finds that weird, because usually Fai is as stubborn as Akanee and never listens to him, and Lada adds that Nam told her they always fight. Rose asks Kaphrao point-blank if they are dating, and Kaphrao vehemently denies it, with Fai calling her ugly and not even a bit cute, and claiming there’s no way she would be interested in her. She also loves to fix things with her fists, she adds and argues who in their right mind would like her? And she remarks that she doesn’t want anything to do with father’s side chick, she’d rather stay single forever than have this gremlin as a girlfriend. This astonishes the cousins and in-laws as the hurt Kaphrao excuses herself to the restroom, while Fai calls her too ashamed to listen to it. Fai tries to ignore the fallen faces from the others as she orders dinner. Meanwhile, Kaphrao has an outburst of herself in the restroom. Fai is the only one eating and notices they all look at her. Nam scolds her, claiming she should know what she did, but Fai claims she just doesn’t like her. Din adds that she should keep it to herself, then, she doesn’t have to be this harsh to Kaphrao, and asks her how would she feel if someone said these things to her. Nam tells her not to dare arguing she was just being blunt, she was rude. Did she even think before saying those things? She tells her she needs to stop doing that, and Lada pleads with her to be more careful with her words, once spoken, they cannot be changed or taken back – just as Kaphrao must be feeling now, hurt and broken. Fai calls on “boss” Rose as her only hope to understand her – but she doesn’t, she claims, and was hurt and taken aback even as she wasn’t the target of her attacks. She argues that no one on earth would like them, and claims it’s no wonder that she’s still single. And Lada calls it so outdated if she hides that she likes her by picking on her, and claims if Kaphrao says she hates her, then she means it. She claims that no one ever gave her a serious reprimand and that’s why she never grew up, and argues that if Nam said something like that to her, she’d break up with her. Fai says she is out of her as they are ganging up on her. Rose tells Lada she did a good job. 😊 Fai looks for Kaphrao in the restroom, but she has already left. Outside, Kaphrao runs into three drunk guys who hit on her. Fai joins and insults the men who then turn on her. She counts to three… … and Kaphrao remember her counting as a kid, before running, as we get the second part of them walking through the woods at night, where Fai wanted to steal a doll from a crazy person in the woods, and they eventually ran away on the count of three. In Hua Hin, Kaphrao and Fai kick the men of three to get room for running away, and a car blocks the way and keeps he men from following them. They take some time running, then site down an the beach, with Fai claiming they probably won’t follow them, drunk as the were, and Kaphrao claiming she never expected her to help. Fai claims she didn’t mean to and claims she only did what any good person would do in that situation. Kaphrao feared she would start throwing punches at then, but Fai argues she is not that stupid and would have got herself buried under their feet three against one. Kaphrao teases her a bit, then thanks her anyway and smiles. But Fai doesn’t want her thanks, she should just stay out of trouble. She extends her hand to help her get up… …and we get another flashback of Fai and Kaphrao at school, where some kids bullied her for being an orphan, until Fai intervened calling her weak and a fool, but handling the kinds swiftly and extending her hand to help Kaphrao get up again. She took her hand and secretly admire her back then. This time, however, she tells her she can get up on her own, and walks away. Fai accompanies her to her room – to make sure she won’t cause any troubles again, of course 😉 – and apologizes from saying bad things to her. Kaphrao claims she is used to it and goes into her room – but inside she is surprised that Fai can talk nicely, as Fai lingers in front of her door and claims she is really sorry. The next day, Kaphrao runs into Rose who just returned from a jog and asks her what she will wear to the party tonight, but Kaphrao doesn’t want to attend it – because she hasn’t brought any party dress with her. But Rose claims she can wear one of her dresses as she brought lots of them, and tells her not to worry and to just come to her room. She claims she will make her the most beautiful woman that night. Kaphrao remembers what Fai called her the night before and thinks she not that pretty. Rose tells her to just ignore what Fai said, and argues she will make her take back every single word. We get to the makeover session, where Rose and Lada make her even more beautiful. Kaphrao argues that she usually works in the mine or plantation, and doesn’t know who she should look pretty for, but Lada tells her to look pretty for herself, so that when she looks at herself in the mirror, she would be proud of her beauty from inside out. Rose and Lada high five each other for her work. In the evening, Din claims to Nam and Fai that Rose gave Kaphrao her best dress and it looks so beautiful on her – but she looks quite stiff and nervous. Fai claims “boss” Rose must have a headache by now for giving that “monkey” a makeover, and Din asks her what is so bad about Kaphrao and thinks she’s cute for her age. Fai claims she will tell Rose that Din is complimenting other girls, with Din maintaining that Kaphrao is really cute, and claiming Lom said so as well when she sent her a picture of her. Fai claims it’s because her cousins are getting old and have bad eye sights, and argues how the heck can they find her cute? Nam claims she is not cute – but beautiful. Then, Lada, Rose and Kaphrao come in, and Fai can’t help but marvel at Kaphrao’s beauty. Nam teases her that a bunch a flies may fly into her open mouth, and Din tells her to close it. But Fai claims she’s just okay as she finds back her voice, and claims she is not that pretty. Kaphrao leaves for the buffet to get something to eat, and Rose mentions that if Fai calls a girl that pretty “just okay”, her standards may be a tad high. And Nam tells Fai that guys may be lining up to talk to her soon – just as a guy approaches her. Fai walks over and scares the guy off to the amusement of the others. Then, Kaphrao notices her and accuses her of following her, but Fai claims she’s just there for the food, and tell her not to be so full of herself. Kaphrao wants to get some air outside and tells her not to follow her. But she follows her anyway, with Nam remarking that she said she doesn’t care, yet keeps following her like a puppy, Din arguing she should have gives her head a shake, so she would finally come to her senses, and Rose adding she definitely needs it. Lada claims that having Kaphrao by her side might make Fai’s life better. They banter a bit with Kaphrao noticing Fai is staring at her. Fai calls her a nuisance and Kaphrao claims that’s why she hates her, and claims if she hates her, why see keeps following her around just to pick a fight. But Fai wants to know who said she hates her. Kaphrao claims she did herself, both through her words and her actions, and claims she can’t even stand looking at her. But Fai claims she never told her that she hates her, and Kaphrao retorts that when she was young she always said it. She claims she can believe it all because she hates her, and they are even. Kaphrao admits she doesn’t hate her, but doesn’t like her either. How is that different, Fai wants to know, and Kaphrao accuses her of always being ready to explode like a fireball and doesn’t like that. Fai wants to know if she expects her to sit back and laugh when someone says they don’t like her. And Kaphrao tells her if she wants them to like her, then try to be nice, she can quit being so hot-tempered and headstrong and try to be more mature – then, she’s sure that someone will be definitely interested in her. But Fai claims it’s not like she wants anyone to be interested in her. Returning to the resort Fai and Kaphrao run into Nod, Kaphrao’s friend from college, and they immediately hug each other being happy they meet again. Kaphrao introduces Fai as her boss and Nod as her close friend. Nod and Kaphrao reconnect with Fai closely observing them. Nod apparently went on to study abroad and claims her uncle owns as hotel as well, so he and Nam know each other. Kaphrao claims Fai is Nam’s cousin and she’s working with her in Surat Thani, so she just tagged along with her. Fai claims they look really close, and Nod confirms it, claiming they were inseparable back then, played together, studied together, ate together and even shared the same bed, claiming the teachers called them Siamese twins. Kaphrao stops her at telling Fai they even went to the toilet together and calls is TMI. But Fai is tired and wants to go to her room – and she wants Kaphrao to leave as well so she doesn’t run into trouble again. But Nod claims that’s okay – they can continue the talk in her room and spend all night reminiscing about the old days. Fai keeps pacing in her room and imagining Kaphrao and Nod getting closer, then gets out of her room to listen in on them, but she can’t hear anything but a few giggles. In the morning she nods off as she waits for Kaphrao to check out, so they can walk to the car together. She wants to know where Nod went, but Kaphrao claims she already left. She exclaims to herself she will better be gone for good, but claims she didn’t say anything as Kaphrao asks her. And Nod waits for them outside to see her off, getting Fai jealous again. In the evening, they return to the main house, and Yod tells them that Akanee want to talk to them about something. But Fai wants to talk to him the next day being exhausted because Kaphrao’s driving skills are so bad she could barely sleep. But Kaphrao can see him now – but Fai holds her back accusing her to such up to him again, and finding an excuse to be alone with Akanee. They fight some more until Yod tells agrees to let the master know that they will talk to him the next day. Fai wants him to keep an eye on Kaphrao to make sure she gets home and doesn’t get a chance to seduce her father, and waits until she gets out of her sight to make sure. Yod then takes Kaphrao home. As Fai returns to Panee’s home, she tries not to wake her up, but of course Panee waited for her being mad for not telling her she went with Kaphrao to Hua Hin and claiming she hardly listens to her these days. Fai claims she will always be her good girl, and claims she only took Kaphrao with her because Akanee made her do it, but Panee claims she usually doesn’t listen to him, and Fai claims she just following Panee’s advice to keep and eyes on Kaphrao and never leave her alone with her father. Panee fears that Kaphrao might change her mind and try to get her hands on her instead, but Fai just laughs and claims that Kaphrao hates her to her guts. But Panee wants Fai to promise her she will never fall for her (too late… 😉) and Fai promises she will never fall for anyone and stay with her until she is old, asking her to live that long for her. And Fai takes Panee up to her room. Yod asks Kaphrao how the trip was as they reach her home, and she is lucky to get back safely, she claims. He thought Fai and her would get close again like in the old days, but Kaphrao claims it will never happen, but Yod points out that Fai usually doesn’t like to be with anyone except Panee, but after Kaphrao returned, she’s been hanging out with her quite often. Kaphrao claims the only reason she does that is to keep any eye on her and to nitpick her on everything she does. She asks them what Akanee wants from them both, but Yod doesn’t have the faintest idea. She hopes that he wouldn’t assign her to a job that would put her through another hell with Fai again, and Yod also hopes that before he excuses himself. The next day, Akanee reminds them that Blew talked favorably about their island while being interviewed for a show, mentions there is interest in people visiting there, and plans to build some accommodations there and turn the island into a ecotourism attraction. He wants her and Kaphrao to go there and see if there is anything else they could improve. Fai wants to know what this has to do with Kaphrao, and Akanee wants them to look after this project together, already talked to Boonsong whom they can go a talk to the next day. Fai and Kaphrao aren’t happy about it but decide not to fight each other – this time. The next day, Fai waits for Kaphrao and asks her if she can’t tell the time because she said let’s meet at 7. But Kaphrao claims she is on time because it’s 6:55. But Fai tells her to save her excuses and claim her legs are growing roots – but Kaphrao doesn’t see a single root. They tease each other some more before they both get in the car, and Fai even trips her. At the gas station, Kaphrao wants to go to the restroom, but gets startled as she finds Bua in the loading area of the truck, who is homesick and misses her parents, so she decided to sneak into the car, because she feared that Fai wouldn’t let her join - but she eventually agrees to let her tag along. We get to see a live that Boonsong makes on the mainland as he checks out a new coffee shop, just as Bua, Fai and Kaphrao arrive. Fai greets Boonsong and introduces Kaphrao as an assistant that father sent to help her. And she introduces Boonsong as the head of the fisherman’s village on the island. Fai tells him that Akanee wants to open a homestay on the island to promote ecotourism and asks him if it’s possible to have the villagers run everything by themselves. He thinks if the number of tourists is quite small, the villagers can definitely manage, just like when Lom and Blew stayed there. Fai claims they can start with just a few cottages first, and shouldn’t focus on making profits but rather creating income for the villagers, and Boonsong finds that just wonderful, and will talk to the villagers about it. He asks Fai if she wants to go back to the island, but Fai declines, going there quite often and already having an idea what needs to be done there. Kaphrao is disappointed, and Bua thought Fai would take Kaphrao to see the island, so that she would know what it’s like there. and Boonsong wants to know if she’s never been on the island, and Kaphrao confirms it, but really wants to go there. Fai thinks the island is too inconvenient for her and she will get bored as soon as her feet touch the sand, but Kaphrao claims Akanee has assigned her to this project, so she is supposed to go inspect the area. And she wants to go there, and as Fai said she won’t go, she can go with Bua. And this is where the episode ends. ____ This week, Fai got feelings for Kaphrao, and apparently she’s had them for a long time as the younger Fai also cared for her. Now, she only needs to admit it to herself and stop acting this crappy towards her, as her cousins and in-laws rightfully pointed out – and she has a rival for her affections in Nod. They rather seem like friends rather that girlfriends, but that’s a hell lot more that Fai can claim. As we are getting close to the midpoint, I want them to act like friends for a change, not like little fireballs always close to exploding. Then, they can deal with Panee and Akanee next. In the novel, Lom and Blew were also present in Hua Hin, but I suspect that Freen and Becky had other appointments, and especially Becky was still dealing with her old company “Idol Factory” back when this was filming. I loved Lada and Rose scolding Fai for her intolerable behavior, but grow tired of Fai acting like some bully who teases and hurts someone else because she can’t deal with her feelings for her – this better stops soon.
