We start the penultimate episode with Helena impersonating Blew in Taiwan and telling her maid Isebelle that she will return to Thailand before going back to Madelin – for private leisure as, she claims – and her maid is of course okay with the princess’s decision and wouldn’t dare to defy her. Grace comes in and argues having power is amazing, but Helena fear it’s too risky. But Grance claims she is supposed to succeed King Arthur as queen of Madelin, and she can’t risk having this plan go wrong again, and vows to take matters into her own hands should Henri fail again. Meanwhile, Blew’s brother Karel learns in France of the plot to replace her sister with an imposter. He thought Blew seemed off as they last spoke on the phone, but Fah mentions that was probably already the imposter, and thinks his sister is in hiding, but safe for now. He promises to inform the king immediately and find a way to help her. Blew is still shacked up in Khao Yai with Lom who brings her tea. Lom takes Blew’s hand and asks if she’s mad at her. Blew wants to know mad about what, and this triggers a flashback to a post-confession scene at a footbridge where Lom was standing alone until Blew came over to ask her what she was doing. Lom was afraid to have made her feel uncomfortable, and Blew asks her the same question: Is she mad at her? Lom thought this question should come from her, and Blew should be mad at her, but Blew claimed she wasn’t and asked her first. Lom mentioned she wasn’t mad either, she was actually afraid that Blew might hate her and that she had made her uncomfortable by confessing how she felt about her. Blew mentioned that she was still there with her, and wondered if she looked uncomfortable to her. She mentioned that while she herself is still the same it’s actually Lom who has changed. Lom argues how could she not as she just confessed her feelings to Blew. But Blew wanted her to stay the same anyway, so that one day, she might finally understand the meaning of love. And Lom promised to stay the same, claiming that if she does anything wrong or inappropriate to Blew, she could always tell her. Blew promised to stop and warn her if anything should make her feel awkward. Blew mentioned Fah should have met Karel by now, and that he would soon get the king to help them, And Lom mentioned she would have to go back to Madelin after that, with Blew remarking that is her home. But Lom will miss her a lot. Blew made a joke about Thailand having airplanes, as Madelin was perfectly reachable by plane. And Lom would be welcome there, and the king and her brother would welcome her as the savior of her life. Lom wanted to know if there were any job opportunities for her should she relocate there for good, and Blew claimed there were plenty of royal guards there, and she would rather not bother her. But what about other positions, Lom asked, and Blew wasn’t sure as she didn’t have yet enough power to appoint any position to her at her own will. Lom claimed that the would be no need to bother King Arthur for the position that she wanted, Blew wanted to go inside, but Lom asked her why she saved her when she fell off the boat at the island. Blew claims she didn’t know and admits she wasn’t good at swimming and was in shock back then. Lom mentioned that this was very dangerous, and asked her not to do it again no matter how shocked she is. But Blew mentioned that Lom’s life was important, too, with Lom claiming that her life means nothing compared to hers, and if she would have to choose, she would happily sacrifice it for her. Blew got angry and told her not to say it again, and didn’t want her to sacrifice her love for her anymore. Lom claimed she just wanted to protect her as someone who loves her. But Blew maintained that if she loved her, she should not die, and told her to never say again that she would sacrifice her life for her again. Blew turned around, but Lom held her back, apologizing for her claim, promising to never repeat it, and claiming they would get through this together alive, and promising to wait for that day when Blew finally loved her, too. And she leaned in and kissed the princess! And Blew didn’t stop her! Back at the tea, Blew asks her if she thought she would get mad than why did she do it, and Lom claimed she did it because Blew hadn’t stopped her, but she apologizes for it and won’t do anything inappropriate again. Blew asks her if she wouldn’t kiss her again, and Lom confirms it. And what if she allows it, Blew continues to ask. Lom is confused by this question, and Blew admits that she still has no idea what love is, but she didn’t mind it when Lom kissed her. And she kisses Lom hand in return. Lom smiles shyly because Blew just kissed her, and Blew continues to act cutely. Meanwhile, somewhere else in the national park, Wathit and his men are planning a trap for Henri’s men, and claim to take them down with his sniper team when they arrive. Wathit wants to know from Beam if she spread the news about the princess though Santi, and Beam confirms it, but wants to know why he didn’t send some men to help Santi catch Henri. And Wathit mentions that judging from the latest information he got about the fake princess returning to Thailand, she is sure that those assassination attempts are not Henri’s doing alone, and he wants to get them all. And we get a flashback to Henri hiring the already compromised Santi to locate Lom and Blew, and we see that Santi didn’t drive alone to Henri and informed Wathit about the meeting afterwards. Henri is informed that the backups he ordered will ready by the following morning, and his colleague wants to finish them off right then, but Henri suspects a trap, and tells him to study all the entrance and exit routes of that safehouse, and claims they will act when everything is ready. Blew and Lom are lying side-by-side at the bed, and Lom mentions her father told her that Henri already knows of their location. Blew fears they will have to run again, but Lom claims her father will lure Henri and his guys there to arrest them all, and apologizes for using her as bait, but she doesn’t want them to run anymore. Blew agrees to do it, but argues that catching Henri won’t be easy. Lom mentions that if they can get him, Grace and the fake princess will lose their bargaining power. And she motions to remove the furrowed eyebrows from her face, telling her not to worry and promising to make sure that everyone is safe. Then she tells her to get some sleep and Blew wants to memorize her heartbeat as she might to get to sleep next her after this. And Lom lets her sleep on her chest. In Madelin, the king learns of what has happened in Thailand, and Karel asks if they can contact the local authorities to handle this matter and arrest the traitors, but the king fears that if they find out he knows about this, Karel might be in danger as well, and they don’t yet know of Sir Antoine, his head guard, is also involved. But Karel has a plan, and they phone Helena-as-blew to inform them that they will join her in Thailand for some private family vacation time before she ascends the throne, he wants to escort her home himself. This gets Helena and Grace rattled, and Helena outright panics, claiming that she’s out, but Grace claims they must get rid of Blew, and calls Henri to inform him that the king is coming to Thailand, and he needs to get rid of Blew before he gets there. Henri tells her not to worry because he already knows where the princess is. The next day, Blew is looking at the national park as Lom is giving her a heart necklace representing her own heart. Lom hugs her as Blew mentions the maximum sentence for offending the royal family is the death penalty, but would rather be executed that letting her fall sick from a cold. Blew mentions that it snows it Madelin every year, and Lom wants to see it for herself. Blew remarks that the first show will probably come in a while, and Lom proposes to go and see the snow in Madelin together once everything is over, and Blew agrees. They talk a little about cocoa – but a signal flare indicates the showdown has started and they need to get out of there. Lom wants them to flee to the other side of the creek where her team will be waiting for them, and tells Blew to put on a ballistic vest, claiming to have her own ready. As they hear gunshots outside, Lom grabs her gun and tells Blew to hurry. And they run through the woods, with Wathit’s team trying to catch the assassins and making progress arresting or killing all of the but failing to find Henri. Lom and Blew meanwhile encounter another team, and Wathit fails to reach the team that should be waiting for Lom and Blew. Eventually, he rushes to replace the second team – just as Lom gets in the arm. She claims to be okay, though, and wants them to continue fleeing, just as two assailants point a gun at her from different sides Lom attacks the nearest one, who shoots the other one accidentally, but then frees himself to point the gut at Lom again. But Blew shoots him having grabbed a gun herself. But Henri appears and threatens to shoot Lom to get Blew to drop her gun, she complies. Lom drags herself free, but Henri quickly recovers his gun and points it and Lom and Blew huddled together. Blew wants to know why he doesn’t just kill her, but he claims Grace will take care of her herself. And he drags Blew off with Lom too weak to put up any resistance. He wants to kill Lom, but gets shot by her father’s men as the arrive and flees. Lom loses consciousness. Blew is transported to a house where she is held hostage. She promises to convince father to pardon Henri is he let’s her go, but he claims to have gone too far to turn back. She claims his father will be disappointed in him, and he claims he was never proud of him, anyway – but Blew disagrees, and mentions that he planned to step down and pass his position to him once blew ascends to throne. He claims that’s not true, but Blew maintains she’s telling the truth, and Henri eventually claims that it doesn’t matter, because she will never become queen anyway. Lom awakes in a hospital and learns that Blew has been captured, and she wants to get up immediately rescuing her, but Lom and Fai hold her back, claiming that she’ll be of to help in her condition. Meanwhile, Grace and Helena are driving to the place where Henri holds Blew hostage, telling Henri they will meet soon. Grace threatens Helena that she will be killed as the traitor if she quits now. At the house, Grace and Helena fall into each other’s arms, and Grace claims they will need to hurry for the king and prince will arrive the next day – with Antoine, his father. Henri fears they will all be executed in the king and his father find out, but Grace claims they have gone too far to back down now. Henri mentions that even if they kill Blew and let Helena take her place, Lom knows and will tell the king anyway, and he mentions she will not let her lover die for nothing. This is news to Grace that Lom loves Blew, but Henri noticed how Blew protected Lom from him, Grace claims hat might just be her job to protect the princess, but Henri also found and took the heart necklace that Lom gave to Blew, and found out it contained a GPS locator (which he already deactivated). And Grace has a plan… ...and she goes to talk to Blew, who wants to know how she could do something so despicable, where the royal family had always been nice to her. But she wants Blew’s grandfather to pay for what he did and will punish the whole de Laina family for what they did to her. And she tells her of the Bruzzo family who was wiped out before her father took the throne – and we get a flashback of Grace and her mother fleeing from the king’s men into a monastery where the mother hid her before being killed herself, and she was the only member of the Bruzzo family who survived. She vows to restore her family – really just herself – to power and to kill everyone of the royal family. Blew pleads with her to let it end with her, but Grace wants to see her family killed before she is killed herself, to make her suffer like herself as a kid. And she vow to kill Lom as well, despite Blew’s claims that she has nothing to do with this. But she claims she must die as well, because Blew loves her that much. Blew claims she doesn’t love her, but Grace just laughs maniacally. The king, prince and Antoine have all arrived in Thailand – a day earlier than they told Helena – and meet with Wathit to learn that Blew has been captured which the police tracking her whereabouts, and Lom as her bodyguard has been injured and is currently in the hospital – but Beam comes in and tells them that Lom has disappeared and is probably looking the Blew. As the prince wants to know what is happening Lom is driving with Din and Fai to locate the princess, and Din wants to tell Wathit want they are doing and argues it’s extremely dangerous but Lom wants to locate Blew first before they tell her father. She is trying to locate Blew with the tracking device she gave her – which Henri conveniently turned back on to lure her into a trap. And Grace argues that they can kill two birds (lovebird, actually) with one stone. Grace tells Helena to keep an eye one Blew while they are preparing the trap, and find something to blindfold and gag her. And Helena proceeds to do so, with Blew remarking how similar they look – as Din has driven as close as she can take Lom, and Lom wants to go alone, but Fai doesn’t let her, they venture both into the forest, as they know it might be a trap, but they have to rescue Blew anyway. Wathit reports that Lom has just sent her the location of the traitors, and the prince what to help her sister as well, but the king tells him to leave that to Antoine, Wathit and his men, and Antoine vows to kill his own son if necessary to keep the princess safe. Henri finds Blew gagged and bound but notices Helena has fled and wants to go after her, but Grace thinks it’s wasted effort and tells him to deal with Blew and Lom first. They are told that Lom is closing in on their location. And they carry Blew – who is wearing a bulletproof vest – outside to wait for her. Lom claims she is going in and tells Fai to wait for backup, but Fai claims she is getting herself killed and wants them to wait both for backup. Lom claims they are using Blew to bargain with her, and if she waits, she will be in more danger. Fai tells her to be careful. Grace, Henri, Blew and a few henchmen take place on a balcony to draw Lom out. She count to three, but on two Lom shows herself. Grace claims she has walked right into her own death trap, but Lom claims it’s them who deserve to die. Grance points the gut at her and tells her how dares she, but Henri wants to deal with Blew first as the cops will soon be there. He points the gun at Blew, but Grace shoots him in the arm claiming to mind his own business and vowing to kill her herself. And she tells Lom who had taken cover to come out again. Lom slowly appears again and pretends to lay down her gun – only to draw a second gun and immediately start shooting at them, taking care of her henchmen first. Grance tries to take cover, but Blew doesn’t let her leave the balcony, and Lom shoots twice – but hit Henri who covered Grace with his body. Grace and Blew flee, but get held up quickly by the police arriving and Grace tries to use Blew as a bargaining chip to keep them from arresting her. Lom tells her it’s over as she arrives from the other side. But she still threatens to kill Blew, as Lom claims she has no one left, not even Henri. Grace claims he has been a fool to love her, just like her who is willing to die for something stupid like love. But Lom claims she actually stupid for believing love is stupid which prompts grace to fire twice at Lom hitting her in the arm and leg. But as Blew flees and Grace point the gun at her, Lom shoots her – but Grace manages to shoot Blew thrice before anyone can react. Lom cries for Blew but kills Grace with two more shots before caring for Blew who is apparently dead as well. To a flashback of scenes with Lom and Blew throughout the series and Lom crying for the deceased Blew, the episode ends. ____ Well, the obvious solution is that this was not Blew, but Helena who was dying – but the show kept things close to their vest and even didn’t reveal Blew’s fate in the preview scenes that you didn’t watch. But this was close to the novel, though the police didn’t act as harebrained in that showdown. Before that, the princess showed enough sing that she actually knows love now, as the chase throughout Thailand came to a close in a spectacular fashion though not 100% as in the novel, but close enough. 😊 The final episode has five chapters to tackle (not including special chapters), so I suspect it will be a long one. Until then.
