Episode 5 starts directly where we left off last week: with Lom kissing Blew at the beach – but it’s just a daydream by Lom, which is interrupted by Bua arriving with breakfast, which is exactly as Lom likes it, Bua claims, even though Lom never told her what she likes. But Bua just guessed it, she tells them, and Blew is kind of jealous. Bua invites them for dinner this evening at her family’s place on her father’s behalf, and Lom will think about it. Bua tells them to start eating before the breakfast gets cold, and offers to feed Lom if she so desires, which annoys Blew again. Bua offers to take care or the dishes after they’re done, or to take care of Lom 24/7, which is when Blew leaves for a moment to keep her jealousy in check. She looks at herself in the restroom mirror, unsure of what she feels. Later, she asks Lom why she didn’t invite Bua to eat with them, but Lom claims she makes her feel awkward, and Blew states she thought she liked her, but Lom denies it, and states that she’d rather be with someone she likes. She asks her about Boonsong’s dinner invitation, and Blew claims they should go as a matter of courtesy. Lom tells her it’s fine if she doesn’t want to go, but Blew wants to know if she wouldn’t feel bad, because she wouldn’t be able to see… then just tells her she will go. Lom presents to her some clothes that Boonsong’s wife Paka gave them for her, including two sarongs, and Blew wants to wear them for dinner, but is unsure how to. And Lom teaches her how to wear a sarong properly to the tune of Becky’s song “Only You”. Lom claims the sarong looks perfect on her, actually anything looks pretty on her ❤️ and argues a good “hanger” can make the clothes shine, but Blew doesn’t realize she’s the “hanger” at first. 😉 Lom than wants to go before Bua looks for them, but this triggers, Blew who claims she just sweet talks like this to everyone. Paka compliments Blew for the dress she’s wearing, and Boonsong thinks that Lom looks handsome. But she claims to be like this since when she was born. 😊 And he claims that Blew looks much more pretty that when his wife wore the dress, which gets him an angry remark from said wife. Bua claims to have made an effort to present tasty dishes for them, but Paka states she only helped a bit late in the process, and Bua is angry at her for ruining her reputation. Boonsong tells them to take a walk until the food is ready. At dinner, they sit by the beach and consume various seafood specialties; Lom peels a crab for Blew which get Boonsong and Paka reminiscing about their own past. Bua reminds Lom that she is as fresh and single as the seafood, which causes Boonsong to cough, then tells Lom to take a walk with him. They walk out of earshot, and Boonsong tells Lom that Fai just called and told him that the suspect that was arrested in Chiang Rai is dead, and was released after refusing to confess only to be killed right after he was discharged, and they also lost an officer that time. Lom claims they must come up with a plan, and Fai is game for whatever she want to do, he claims, and has her people ready. Then, Fai calls and Lom takes the call, but we don’t get to hear what they are talking about. After dinner, Bua and Blew sit at the beach together, and Bua wants to know if Lom has a girlfriend of someone she likes. She claims if she does, she will back off, but vows to pursue her if she doesn’t, claiming that Lom is exactly her type as if the sea has specifically carried her soulmate to the island. Blew tells her to asks her, then, but Bua is mush too shy to ask her crush, and claims she’s close to her, so she asks her. But Blew honestly doesn’t know, and claims that many girls are after her, but she doesn’t seem to get serious with anyone. Bua then wants her to ask Lom for her, and Blew promises to do that. Blew then notices a jar with a liquid, and Bua claims it’s herbal liquor that will make her behavior and personality completely change if she drinks it, it will make her more daring and jolly, she claims, and it will enable her to do something she normally wouldn’t dare to do. Blew takes few drinks and gets paranoid, seeing traitors everywhere as Lom returns, she takes her back to their place, which takes considerable effort since both Blew and Bua are completely drunk. Blew later claims she been poisoned, but Lom claims she is just drunk and will get better soon. Lom claims she will return to Madelin someday, but Blew confesses that right now, she wishes he could stay there forever before passing out. In the morning, Blew wakes up hand in hand with Lom. Blew asks her to let go of her hand, and Lom quickly retracts it and gets up apologizing for it. Blew wants to know what happened the previous night, and why she can’t remember anything. Lom asks her what the last thing she remembers is, and she remember to take some kind of drink. Lom tells her that it was an extremely strong herbal liquor, and Blew claims she only drank it because she wanted to blend in with the locals. Lom tells her not to accept any food or drink she never tried before if she’s not around, and Blew tells her to always stay with her, then, and don’t ever leave her side like she promised her. Lom swears that she will stay by her side until she no longer needs her. Blew finds a pillow on the beach somewhere, and it triggers a flashback(?) to the previous night, where Blew was dancing with the pillow as a prince. She falls almost down, but Lom catches her in time, and she wanted to dance with her. They danced for a while, then kissed, and Blew isn’t sure if it actually happened or just was a dream, so she asks Lom whether she did anything weird while she was drunk, but Lom claims she fell asleep right away. Blew asks herself out loud if she was dreaming, and Lom asks what kind of dream. Blew claims that she dreamt about – something the previous night, but it was a good dream, she guesses, but doesn’t tell Lom any details. But we get Lom’s POV for the previous night, where she tried to wash away the alcohol, then wanted to throw out the water, but Blew wanted her to stay and hold her hands and didn’t want her to go away from her. And that why she laid down beside her and held her hand all night. Lom remembers it smiling. Blew meets Bua to find out how drunk she was the night before, and she claims she was incredibly drunk, but claims her parents are much worse when they are drunk. Blew wants to know where she goes to, and Bua claims the is helping the locals with their catching fishes and blew wants to help as she has nothing to do anyway. Lom goes to look for Blew and eventually finds her catching fish, as she wants to learn about their way of living. And Lom lets her try it, but joins her, and Blew teases her with a fish she just caught, and we get a montage of them just catching and drying fish, being happy, repairing the nets. And Blew teaches the local kids some English as well, at night, they are all dancing around the village fire. Afterwards, Blew is eating some watermelon as Bua comes over with the herbal liquor, but Bua claims she just doesn’t want to go empty-handed, then asks her if she’s seen Wind and asks her for an update, but Blew doesn’t remember. Bua claims Blew wanted to find out whether Lom has a girlfriend, but she has no idea. Then, she asks her again to ask Lom directly as her close friend – but Wind has overheard the conversation and tells Bua that she already has someone she likes, which Bua doesn’t believe, but she repeats the claim than she already has someone she likes very much, Bua accuses her of being blunt, but Lom claims she didn’t want to lead her on. And Bua reacts poorly to this news, claiming not to help them anymore, then leaving with her herbal liquor. Going home, Blew claims the stars look beautiful that night, and Lom agrees, but points out that they are not as beautiful as Blew. Blew then asks her if she always talk so sweetly to every girl in her life, and Lom wants to know if something bothers her mind. But Blew just claims to be curious about the someone she likes, and claims that woman is very lucky. Lom wants to know haw she knew she liked girls, and Blew claims that Lada has told her, and reminds her to be more careful when she is with other girls, and warns her not to be so sweet to them, as they might get the wrong idea. But Lom claims that Blew is getting it wrong, claiming she doesn’t have a girlfriend right now and telling Bua only because she didn’t want her to bother her. Blew claims that she has made her life difficult and made her lose chances to be with someone she might like, and she will ask her father for a reward for what she has done once she returns to Madelin, but Lom doesn’t want a reward. Blew maintains that she deserves it and offers to tell her if she wants anything, claiming it’s the least she could do to feel less indebted to her. Lom asks her what if she desires something impossible, and Blew claims there is nothing her father wouldn’t grant for the person who saved her life, but Lom is sure that there is, and if she said it, it would cause her great punishment for not knowing her own place. But Blew doesn’t get it (come on, how dense are you?!?!), and Lom doesn’t tell her, either, and asks her if she’s ever been in love. But Blew claims to have little time for love as she has been helping the king with his work since she was little. But Lom is sure that she will find her prince eventually, and Blew wants to know how she knows she likes princes. Lom claims that in every story a princess always ends up with a prince, but Blew maintains that it doesn’t always have to be like that. Back on the mainland, the would-be assassins have tracked the cousins for a while and believe that the princess and Lom are somewhere in Surat, and are getting new information as they speak. But wo don’t learn what they know. The next day, Lom is hanging up laundry, and Blew wants to help and not let Lom do everything for her. They fight over a laundry item and Blew falls into Lom’s arms, then staggers back and hurts her ankle. Lom cares for her ankle tenderly as Bua arrives and tells Lom to see Boonsong before he is sailing to the shore. Lom tells Blew to rest for the day and claims her ankle will be better the next day. Bua offers to keep her company as Lom is talking to Boonsong, claiming she doesn’t want to see Lom’s face for too long. Lom leaves and promises she will be back soon. Lom goes to Boonsong and hands him her gun for safety as he’s traveling to shore – just in case, she claims. And he promises to take care of everything, with Lom warning him to be careful. Meanwhile, Bua is hanging up the clothes that Lom washed, Blew explains, and Bua thinks Lom is very caring, and she can’t believe how stupid she was, and claims they should have told her if they were having a fling. But Blew doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. But Bua claims it’s no wonder why Blew didn’t want to tell her who Lom likes. But Blew claims she really doesn’t know or she would have told her long ago. Bua is astonished that she could be this blind not to know what everyone o the island knows, but Blew claims she is with her every day, so how could she to know something that everyone else knows? And Bua tells her the person Lom likes is herself. Blew thinks she is misunderstanding something, and Bua tells her to ask Lom, then. As Lom returns, Blew is still contemplating this and gets distracted by her thought pouring some water for Lom und cause an overspill. Blew claims that she’s fine but she’s obviously not fine, and Lom wants to go ask Bua what is wrong, but Blew claims it’s really nothing, and Lom remarks that she is bad at lying. And Blew admits that there is something she needs to ponder, but she can’t tell her right now and promises to tell her later. Lom asks if it’s about Madelin, and Blew claims it’s something that matters to her a lot. She promises to tell her when she’s ready and pleads with her not to ask her right now. Boonsong is back on the mainland with Yod and report that she (I think he means Blew) is fitting in really well, Yod will let Fai know so she isn’t worried. Yod gives him a few items for the island as someone overserves them. Blew and Lom looks at the sky, and Blew reports that in Madelin, she often lies down like this to stargaze with her brother Karel, and that the palace has a stargazing room with a glass ceiling. Lom lies down beside her and lets her arm be a pillow for her, and Blew wonders how her father and brother are doing right now. And Lom assures her that everything will be over soon, and when the time comes she will take her back to Madelin herself. Blew stretches out her pinky for a promise and Lom agrees to it a giving her pinky. And that’s where the episode ends. ____ Lom all but literally confessed this episode which takes place exclusively on Fai’s island. But Blew was oblivious for most of the time even as she (apparently dreamt about?) kissing Lom while she was drunk. In the end, Bua had to spill the worst-kept secret of the island – that Lom is into her. This was an hour of the romantic tension that Freen and Becky do so well, and it was the slowest hour of the show to date, but I didn’t mind a breather from the shenanigans of the would-be assassins, especially as they will return soon, and in full force.
