„Love Beyond Dreams“ (or เพื่อเธออีกครั้ง aka “For You, Once Again”) stats with Rann’s graduation day where Lené comes up from behind and asks her whether she tired, and Rann confirms it, arguing that graduating is exhausting. Then, Lené wants to take her home; walking, Lené praises her for getting first-class honours, as she expected from her. Lené closes in suddenly, and it looks like she is about to kiss her, but at the last moment, she decides to give her a kiss on the forehead instead. Rann reacts embarrassed and thinks Lené is teasing her, then, she reports that she got a full scholarship to study in England. Lené is happy about it and thinks they need to celebrate. She wants to treat Rann and will accept no excuses, because after all, she’s smart and rich, she argues. In her head, Rann argues that she’s beautiful, cool and mature – and someone important to her. She collects herself, then kisses Lené on the mouth. But Lené tells her to get out of her sight and leaves. Rann is heartbroken and cries. Five years later, Rann is alone in London, England, and is still crying as the writes in her diary. She takes out an old diary in which she drew the moment of them kissing. But she argues that Lené has probably forgotten this moment, and she rips the drawing out of the diary. Later, she gets a ring on her door and it’s a delivery, someone sent her flowers and a note: “I hope you’re always happy.” Rann immediately knows it’s from Lené because she gave her flowers and this note before. Rann thinks this is joke, but recognizes her handwriting. She argues that it’s been five years without a single message, and she asks the note, why toy with her heart again? But Rann requests a leave of absence and flies back to Thailand anyway. She argues that this time they need to talk things through. Meanwhile in Thailand, there a car crash. Several people approach the vehicle with guns drawn. One of the guys checks it out, but get immediately shot – and the other come under fire from Lené as well. Pheem (played by Fluke who was Ith in “Play Park”) supports her though he’s injured. Lené remarks that it looks like they won’t make it out alive, and he calls her boss and claims she at least got to do what she wanted, and argues her package made it safely to the destination. He claims that he doesn’t even have a wife yet, then wants to become a funny ghost and not some vengeful spirit. Lené then runs away as Pheem provides barrage fire – but she runs into another man with a gun, and her last words are “I knew it”, before she gets a headshot. After the credits, Pheem grieves for his boss, and her father (played by Lift who we saw in “Only You”, “Queendom” and most recently, in “Broken (of) Love”) receives condolences for her dead daughter, just as Rann arrives and cries for her loss. Later, Rann sits with the other attendees as two women argues that Lené died very young, and they talk about her father originally wanting to step down and let Lené take over. And apparently the official news was she died in a car accident, but there were strange things happening that night. Pheem comes over to greet her and is glad that his boss’s package made it to her, as he sees she is still holding the note, and he reports that Lené was worried she wouldn’t accepts it and would be happy to see she came. He is sorry for her loss. The funeral days pass and Rann is still heartbroken. And this triggers a flashback to 2017 when she set alone at steps at the campus a freshman, where Rann talked to her (obviously dead) grandma, claiming that she made it to the freshman welcoming ceremony, and wishes she was here to see it, then, she cries and tells her she is sorry, but cannot take it anymore. Lené, who is wearing a shirt that make her a junior, is taking place beside her, and claims she just wanted to get some fresh air and did not see anything. She reports that she once had a cold but still had to lead the chanting in school, and sneezed so hard into her microphone that it short-circuited. Rann looks up to her as she claims she can just talk to her like a stranger, and not even remember it the next day (clearly, that didn’t work!) And Rann tells her not to scold her for what she’s about to say, and relates to her that her parents passed away when she was very your and she grew up with her grandmother as the only family. But she’s also gone now. She wanted her to be the first one to see she got accepted, but the hospital called and told her that her heart had failed, and she never woke up again. She wonders what she did it all for and argues that she’s all alone now. But Lené argues that it’s not true, she is right there, and not just her; there’s hundreds of people in this hall, and millions more in the world, so she’s not alone. She argues that she’s not good at comforting people, but she thinks her grandmother would be sad for her to think like that. Continuing the flashback, we see Rann was shy to contact her afterward, but she wanted to thank her, and Lené contacted her in what would become her signature more: tapping on her shoulder, then touching her cheek with a finger, and calls her noo, but Rann claims that’s not her name, and claims she is Rann, and asks her about her name, which she reported as Lené. Later, she leaves a class with her fellow students noticing Lené is waiting for her and quickly leaving. She is shocked to find Lené waiting for her, who them wants to go eat something, before someone becomes all whiny, but Rann has already eaten, and argues that it’s her looking for a lunch buddy, but she’ll get hungry again as they walk, she argues, and call her a cry-baby. But Rann claims to only have cried once in front of her, and Lené argues that she’s getting good at talking back to her senior. Thay walk through the halls had in hand, and Rann thinks that ever since the day they met, her world has never been the same again. We return to the funeral, where Rann is still crying the flash back to Lené’s graduation with Rann also attending. She promises to take care of her even after she is gone, she claims that she looks like Lené is already dead, but Rann claims Lené jinxed herself, but she argues that she’s just graduating, and they will see each other again. Rann claims that it will only be at class reunion once every ten years. But she promises to be at a call’s notice for now on. And later, Rann surprises her with a congratulatory bouquet for taking up her new position at the company. She calls her beautiful, talented and rich, and wants to know if she’s going to forget her. She is looking a little worried, but claims it’s only about work, probably because she is facing the real thing now. But she is starting to worry about Rann getting a lover now, and teases her about her limited flirting skills. She promises to give her some flowers as well “the next time”. And she gave her a bouquet of flowers even bigger on Rann’s birthday the following year, with the note: “I hope you’re always happy” attached. She wants her to be the happiest in the world, she tells her. And the flashback continues with the “get out of my sight” scene from the beginning. Later that night, Rann gets a call from her professor asking her what she decided about the scholarship, and she accepts it. Rann calls Lené from the funeral, but naturally can’t reach her, but she claims that Lené promised she would come if she called. She claims it’s her fault and she’s sorry. At the cremation, she bids farewell carrying a piece of red thread in her hands. At night she walks home depressed feels someone tapping on her shoulders, but there’s no one there. She overhears two people claims they are glad that she’s finally cremated and the authorities didn’t inspect her body. They claim that all the other evidence – the crime scene, the weapon and the car – has already been dealt with. Not to mention the top-tier acting he had to pull off. But there has been a leak lately, so the boss is worried about who’s behind it. Rann steps slowly backwards and wants to call someone on the phone, but gets ambushed from behind and the assailant doesn’t waste any time and cuts her throat. As she lays dying on the ground she promises to Lené that she will make everything different if she just gets one more chance… …and wakes up in her old room in the night after Lené rejected her kiss. She collects her bearings, then notices the read thread in still in her hands. She intends to file a report with the police, but her phone rings, and it’s her professor again but she quickly ends the call. She believes this can’t be real but find her diary which still contains her drawing of them kissing. She runs over to her house to find that Lené is still alive. She returns to her room, remembering her unknown assailing slitting her throat. She realizes that this is real, she already dies once, but this is her second chance, and Lené’s a well, and vows to herself that she won’t let it end up the same way as in the first try. She won’t let Lené die – and then, she phones back the professor and accepts the scholarship. She argues to herself that there is nothing she can do for Lené now – but promises to return in time before she gets killed in five years. She argues that she needs to be prepared, and find a way to stop it. Then, she puts the red thread into a necklace and puts it on, claiming she’s going to save her, and even if she still hates her by then, it will be okay. And we end the episode on a couple of more flashbacks with Rann as child losing her parents, then with her grandma, and finally to the day the got accepted into college, getting the phone call from the hospital as she told Lené earlier, and finally to when they met at the university. ____ This was a fairly standard, but clear fantasy premise, and well-acted by the leads. Most of it was told in flashbacks, but we got enough to become hooked. If I saw it correctly Peem was the guy that Rann saw before she was getting killed, so he’s probably a “double agent” of sorts, but much about Lené’s death is still a mystery to us, as is her work, for that matter. But the show must be tackling these fairly quickly as there are only seven episodes in total. And of course, we also must deal with why Lené rejected Rann in the first place – and so harshly. That Rann has feelings for Lené is pretty much a given by now. 😉
