We start episode 2 with a meetup of the conspirators Helena, Grace and Henri, where Grace asks Helena if she had found out anything suspicious about that cop (Lom), but she has not, she claims, but she doesn’t trust her, either, and grace adds that she was nowhere to be found the night before when she was supposed to guard the princess, and argues what if she saw something she shouldn’t? Helena thinks Lom definitely wouldn’t stay quiet if she has sniffed out something – but argues that so far the hasn’t seen anything suspicious from her. Henri agrees with her, and claims that the men her tasked with killing the princess already reported they took care of the princess, but Grace doesn’t trust them until they send them pictures of the princess’s bead body, and adds she has a bad feeling about this. Henri will keep an eye on Lom and run some background checks on her, and Grace adds to get rid of her if she finds out anything about their plan. Meanwhile, Lom is walking to her car under the surveillance of two of the would-be killers of the princess, who follow her once she is driving back to Blew, arguing that they have to kill Blew before Henri finds out. But Lom quickly notices them because they suck at tailing 😉 and she gets rid of the at a gas station restroom where she can flee without getting noticed. Lom returns to Dr. Mew who reports that Blew wanted to leave but she held her back until her IV runs out, and Lom gets to her just as she tries to leave but is still weak, she prevents her from falling to the ground, holding her close in the process, then sits her back on her bed. Lom is unsure how to address her, and fumbles a few tries, but Blew tells her to just call her by her name to prevent suspicions. She then notices she is bleeding and first tries to get the doctor, then treats it herself. Then, she wants to hear her side, and Blew reports that she passed out after drinking orange juice – but she remembers Grace telling her abductors to kill her and send her proof. She wants to go and report her right away, but Lom holds her back telling her that no one knows she is missing, but Blew argues she is the crown princess, so why hasn’t anyone noticed it? And Lom tells her that they have an imposter who looks exactly like her and has taken her place, and argues that the imposter and their helpers are in this together. And if she reveals herself without proof that she’s the real princess, she will blow her cover and become a target instead. Blew wants to know who that imposter is … … and we switch to a talk of Grace with Helena, revealing that she was a death row prisoner, and with Grace arguing that all her hard work is paying off, and those surgeries were surely worth the effort. And she thinks that even King Arthur won’t know she’s not the real princess. But Helene wants to know if she’s sure their plan will work, and she not doing this because she wants to be a princess, she just doesn’t want to die. But Grace thinks she has no choice, she is just a death row prisoner waiting for her last day to come and argues she would have died long ago if she hadn’t saved her, and argues that now, she is the crown princess of Madelin and her opinions are not needed. And Helena is nervous. Lom and Blew arrive at Lom’s safe house where they will stay as long as they are evaluating the situation. She is safe there because no one knows of it until they can prove that Blew is the real princess, but Blew is arguing that there’s a traitor posing as herself right now, and points out the risks to her prestige, her reputation or even her country. And Lom admits that she is just a commoner not knowing anything about royal prestige, but as cop who already vowed to protect her, it is her duty to keep her safe as best she can, and argues that she’s trying to help her, and would appreciate her cooperation for her own safety. Blew argues that her father has never talked to her like that, and Lom apologizes, but argues that if there was anything harmful to her, she’d forgive her for overstepping. And Blew remembers the false promise that Grace gave her. Later, Lom gives her some clothes of his to change into, and Blew asks her if she can really trust her, and Lom asks her right back, but Blew doesn’t know as her most loyal and trusted servant turned out to betray and try to kill her, so how could she trust someone she just met, Lom adds, and argues she doesn’t have to trust her, she’ll do her best to help her and keep her safe, and after everything is over she can decide whether she’s trustworthy or not. They agree on it. Lom gets a call from the dictator (her father 😊) who wants to know why she is absent on duty, and argues that Henri told her they should keep an eye on their head of security which is Lom. He wants to know what she has done to upset him, and claims this is serious, and argues that he doesn’t know what she’s up to, but if it’s dangerous, she should stop, because if anything happens ever his position wouldn’t be able to save her. And she vows that if she does anything wrong, she will take full responsibility for it, and won’t get him into trouble. Then, she ends the call, claiming she has to go now. Her father argues with her mother about Lom’s behavior, but her mother tells her whom she takes after – himself, reminding him of how he was like a wild bull when he was younger. He claims she is taking her side, as always, but she changes the subject and wants him to try out her new recipe, and he complies, not able to believe how he’s getting mad a his daughter while pleasing her mother. 😉 Meanwhile, Lon and Blew are also having a bite as Lom admits she is being targeted by Madelin people, and Henri is watching her every step; she fears that after today, she won’t be able to return to Blew, not until the importer leaves the country. Blew point out that Henri has been loyal to her and Antoine, his father, has been loyal the king, she wonders what makes him trust Grace and agree to do something terrible like this, but Lom argues that power and money can always change people. Blew points out that if Grace has an imposter that looks like her and Henri on her side, she afraid that it might be almost impossible to prove that she’s the real princess. Lom claims she still has her, and Blew then asks 100,000,000 THB question: what makes her believe she’s the real princess? And Lom claims there is something the imposter can’t fake: her eyes, which have a shining which she has never see in anyone, she claims, and admits they make her feel like she’s someone special. A small smile rushes over Blew’s face. But the killers have tracked down Lom’s phone and are about to embark to that location. Blew checks her eyes for something special and wonders whether her father will recognize her. Lom comes in a reports that she has been summoned to the hotel and must leave, arguing that the imposter has changed her schedule and they will leave the country the next day, but she’ll be back late next morning, and doesn’t want her to go anywhere in the meantime. Blew wants her to be careful, and Lom give her a small smile and agrees. Later, Lom calls Beam and wants her to take care of the princess until she gets there, but Beam is not on duty, Lom asks her if she knows that the princess has moved up her schedule, but Beam hasn’t heard anything about that. Lom quickly hangs up, realizing they have screwed her over and turns the car to get back to Blew. Meanwhile, the killers are about to enter the safe house, but trigger a silent alarm in the process informing both Lom and Blew of their presence. The killer quickly find her room and want her to come out and Blew tries in vain to hide, but Lom gets the in time to kill the assailant, and Blew runs into her arms. Lom asks her to trust her as they flee the safe house and she quickly handle a number of killers, but then get pinned to the wall by one choking her, but Blew hit him over the head with a vase, and frees her. Lom catches her breath, then, they continue to flee. The two head killers see them fleeing the house and try to catch up with them. Blew wants to surrender, but Lom point her in the direction of her motorcycle, then get a few shots in at the killers, injuring one. They flee together on the motorcycle. Lom apologizes for putting Blew in danger, but Blew claims it’s not her fault, as they never know who else might be working for Grace. Lom has broken her promise, she fears, but Blew claims she’s still alive because of her. Blew notices the marks on her neck, and Lom admits that Blew saved her from “meeting her ancestors” (getting killed) but Blew is not familiar with that idiom, so Lon explains it to her. But Blew claims she’s not allowed to die, as she has to stay with her new family, and Lom agrees. Blew wants to know what they should do next, and Lom claims they will need a new hideout… … So, they board a train to Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand and Lom tries to hide Blew under a cap. The killer meanwhile try to track her phone again. Lom and Blew have taken a van to get to their next hideout, they drive to Chomrak farm, the farms that Din and Rose have merged. Din awaits them asking why she has to send someone to pick her up and why she shouldn’t tell Wathit about it, but Lom pushes those questions back for later, and then introduces Blew to Din her eldest cousin, and they proceed inside. We meet Looknam who is later revealed to play Buakiang and apparently is the one who can’t forget Lom 😉but Din quickly ends the fliting attempts. Lom tells Din that Blew is someone she has to take care of. And Din thinks it’s her new girl with Lom silently nodding. Din then introduces Blew as Lom’s girlfriend to Rose – but she immediately knows that Blew is the crown princess of Madelin. Din tries to maintain that she is Lom’s girlfriends but Rose as adamant as she saw her on the news, and Blew nods in agreement. Din wants to know from Lom what’s going on, and Lom claims she must protect her as her bodyguard, and Blew asks Rose to keep her identity a secret. Rose and Bin quickly pay respect to the crown princess and Lom can’t help but chuckle, before Din drags her away to talk. Lom has updated Din and Rose and they think it’s a national matter; Lom wants Din not to tell Wathit about this, but Din argues that this is getting out of hand and is too big for her to handle, and maybe she should ask her father for help, but Lom claims he is not going to believe her and will probably send back Blew to Madelin. Rose asks how Lom is going to prove the Blew in the real princess, and Lom doesn’t know either, but argues that for now, keeping her safe is her top priority. They might need to stay for a few days while they’re figuring the situation out, and Din tells them that they’re welcome for as long as they want, she’s just worried that the thugs might find them there. But Lom claims she has sent them far away… …and we get a flashback of Lom placing her phone inside a train to Su-ngai Kolok, the southernmost town in Thailand on the border to Malaysia, and we see that they actually followed the phone to that town. Din marvels at the cunningness of Lom sending the bay guys to the other end of Thailand, but Lom says it’s not a big deal because she is an expert. 😊 And Din likens that to her expertise in juggling her dates with Blew taking notice, but Lom pretends not to understand her. Then, She tells Blew that she should take some rest, and Din claims Lom should, too. Rose volunteers to take “the princess” to her room. Blew wants Rose to drop the formalities, but she is afraid to act inappropriately towards her. Blew gives her permission as her friend. Rose then introduces Buakiang, the housemaid (where is Mod Daeng?!?), and tells her she can ask her for anything. Blew wants some bruise relief cream for Lom, and Buakiang will bring it to her. She brings her a pot and says to appl it twice a day for the bruise to fade away in a few days. Blew goes to Lom who wanted to go to her to talk about their next steps and she invites her in. She wants to know if there’s a Thai embassy in Madelin, but Blew only wanted to talk about it during her visit, and Lom argues with an embassy it would be easier to send word to the king, and Blew points out that there might be a way to contact her father without drawing Grace’s attention, but needs to make sure that Antoine, Henri’s father, is still loyal to the king, and she fears both her father and brother’s lives would be in danger in anyone finds out she is still alive. Lom will look into it for her as she has a cousin who is a reported and knows lots of informants, and argues that it might not be that hard to find out. Blew wants it to be over as soon as possible for the sake of everyone’s safety. But Lom claims she should rest first, and argues that as long es she is her, she will be safe. Blew tells her to apply this bruise cream and offers to help, Lom hesitates, then let’s her do it. Blew wants her not to get hurt again, but Lom can’t promise her that, and argues if they get into an encounter, it might be hard to avoid getting injured. But she can promise not to let anyone hurt her under her watch – and vows to protect her with her own life. Helena is frantic because Prince Karel is calling her, but Grace thinks she should just take the call, and argues that they’ve rehearsed this, but Helena doesn’t want to pick up and hands the phone to Grace. Grace picks it up and tells Karel that Blew is engaged at the moment and unable to take the call, but Karel has called her many times already and fears she is not feeling well. Grace excuses this with the hectic schedule, claims the princess is doing well and promises she will call him back as soon as possible. Grace tells everything went fine then want to know if Henri’s guys really did their job and killed the princess, but Henri is not sure because the killers went AWOL. Helena argues that if the princess is still alive, they might all be screwed, and Henri claims he shouldn’t have agreed to this, and points out his father is loyal to the king, and argues we will never let him live if he found out that he colluded to overthrow the king. But Grace calls him sweetie and claims his dad will never find out, and when Helena will take the crown, he will get his father’s position, and everything in Madelin will be theirs, just get rid of the princess and everything will be over, she argues, and his job is to find those men and make the princess disappear. Lom calls Fah, and wants information on Madelin, and she tells hey the story and claims she can’t trust anyone. She want to know if Fah has an informant who can sniff around in Madelin right now, and Fah can take care of it, guessing she has to cover this scoop herself, she wants to find out whether this imposter can act as the princess and will gather more evidence, arguing it’s not safe to talk about this over the phone. Helena is posing as the princess at the “Thai human imagery museum”, and Fah is shooting pictures of her. She gets back into the car and her stance visibly changes as the door closes revealing her nervousness. She calls the reports annoying following her and making many photos, and Grace tells her there’s an interview request, but Helena won’t do it, claiming they should leave the country before they get exposed. Blew is admiring some Irises claiming to Lom that they remind her of home, because it is her signature flower. Her father claims she loved them since when she was little, so he planted them everywhere around the palace. Blew argues that Irises are flowers of valor and elegance and are also called the eyes of heaven, and Lom claims to now know why her father chose Irises as her signature flower. But Blew fears her father would be disappointed at her if she allows her imposter to commit more crimes. Lom argues that she will defeat those traitors as she is strong, sturdy and elegant. But she fears there’s no way to reclaim her elegance because she is now a princess without a crown. But Lom has found a replacement crown for her – and she crowns her with a wreath of Irises as a temporary replacement, and argues it might not be a perfect replacement, but in her eyes, she will always be a princess and she will always shine with elegance. And on this pep talk, the episode ends. _____ This was a wild ride, and FreenBecky can’t really do slow burn, as the affection is already clearly apparent for both Lom and Blew. This hour took as to the norther and southern parts of Thailand, now we only need to get to Hua Hin and Surat Thani to get Nam and Fai to join. 😊 And the endless fleeing from assassins sure will continue as they are trying to stay alive long enough to reveal the traitor’s plot. I applaud Becky for playing to distinct and easily differentiable roles as Blew and Helena and Freen for trying to keep the player part of Lom in check as they are in mortal danger but remain charming nevertheless. The only major differences from the novel I could find are really minor, as Lom had to deal without Fah (as that character doesn’t exist in the novels) and Looknam taking over as Buakiang for Mod Daeng.
