It's not like Fulgrim stabbed Manus in the back. If Manus had been killed immediately after Fulgrim failed to win him over, then it would have been a question of trust. Rather it was Manus's pride that brought him down. If he had just launched cyclonic torpedoes at Istvaan V, instead of landing an invasion force, he would have lived.
That's why we need to learn from his mistakes and erase our emotions!
