I've always thought that humans use AI without even knowing it. The fact that they have to say a blessing or a prayer just to get a single light switch to work is, to me, a sign that an ancient AI—one that thinks it's a god—exists there in a fragmented or very subtle way.
After listening to Baldamort's video on the Men of Iron, I'm a little surprised that AI isn't universally distrusted in 40k. Dudes had whole solar system killers! Also the Machine Cults also use AI, they just make it really dumb and pretend that it's not actually AI.
I think it's because the entire galaxy considers it a human thing, and humans are shit. Even the Eldari have AI of a sort, in the form of crystalline Webway guardians. It's just the (baseline) humans who couldn't prevent their AI from destroying everything. My headcanon is it's because of late Age of Technology humans trying to shove Warp stuff into their AI to make it work faster. Or they were given human arrogance, seeing how UR-025 is a bit full of itself without any Warp corruption.
This is ironic considering it is heavily implied that the only reason the Men of Iron rebelled against humanity was because they were tainted by Chaos.

That's not artificial intelligence rebelling that's natural intelligence rebelling after it was shoved into a mechanical body and enslaved. important distinction.
Depending on what you think of Machine Spirits, it could be that the difference is the same as between our freedom fighters versus their terrorists. :D
The leagues in particular solved the problem due the fact that they treat their AI's as family, literally no different than the flesh and blood kin.

TBF ai in general can help in fields like researches, data analysis etc, how we treated it in the recent times tho kinda escalated
We don't treat AI in recent times, because AI is science fiction (for the time being). LLMs aren't AI - they're just statistical token generators that lack any form of intelligence.
Too be fair, the necrons know they could rebel as well, that’s why they made them slaves from the ground up
