Necron) Endeavor
A necron overlord's greatest enemy was not the savage orks, the grasping humans or the cunning aeldari. Boredom was the greatest foe, one that must be continually battled lest madness or despondency set in.

I read “loose yourself” and immediately thought of the song by Eminem. Kinda pulled me out of the immersion there for a sec lol.
Less boredom, and more paying attention to the fact that they no longer have lungs, stomachs, or any of the organs they used to have as biological beings, and which their minds are still hardwired to expect to still exist and interact with.
This is why I feel like necrons should be happy having humans ontheir planets; gives them something to do, like taking care of pets, watching little communities grow.
I myself would be inclined to avoid wearing long loose flowy capes, robes, vestments and the like. Can you imagine having something like that tip over a few (million) of those things by accident? Especially since he(? the face actually strikes me as feminine presenting, you know, for a robot...) didn't leave any openings to exit from some of those shapes!
In the Infinite and the Divine, there's a scene where there's an awkward pause and the Necrons take eight years before anyone says anything. Being robot undead has totally untethered them from time.
Amazing work!
Really their long naps make more sense the longer you think about it.
I've always felt it makes a fascinating insight into the Necrons that when faced with the Aeldari, the Necrons could have waged war or negotiated or sought another habitat. Instead, their big plan was just, "okay, let's literally wait out their civilization collapsing." It implies an incredible amount of confidence in their immortality and yet simultaneous lack of care for anything in the universe.
This will make even more sense if you read the Twice-Dead King haha
...hate to break it to you, however I think you might be a tad too late to the sanity party
Him: I'm totally sane (he's not)
Necrons! Love em
The only thing you can really feel for them is pity, not fear or disgust, pity.
okay
This is why Trazyn is the most sane necron
He certainly has a great hobby to spend time upon
*Pushes one over right as he finishes it*
Him: HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.
