Status Update #70 - July 12, 2026

Coding continues to go well. I don't have too much in the way of specifics, but I'll say that next week's status update will be more interesting. I'll be able to say with confidence whether or not it'll be out in July on the 19th, I think. My intention is to announce a release date only when I've completely coded the main story stuff in and peripheral details such as the encyclopaedia entries and the galleries are left to do. Now that I've found a rhythm for myself, I think I'll get even more done over the next week than I did in this one.

I'm not usually in the business of spoiling minor things in these status updates, but I will say that I ended up liking this upcoming little scene between August and Shai enough that it makes me want to point out it will probably be non-canon for the majority of players. If you want to see it for yourself, you'll have to make a save where you send August to investigate alone, rather than with Erika, in Ep. 2 Part One. I have a feeling I'll be faced with this feeling to an increasing degree as I keep going and the story branches more and more; namely, regret over having written something I like, but that many people will never see or be aware exists.

I don't yet have the art for the next bonus scene, but as soon as I receive it, I'll get to work on making it. I'm in full-on crunch mode, so any time I spend on it will be in addition to working on the main game rather than taking away from it.
