Status Update #54 - March 22, 2026

I continued to plug along writing this week, though I have perhaps not made use of my free time as well as I can. I think the goal I set last week of finishing writing the remainder of the episode by the end of my break from work was too ambitious, and I've since adjusted my expectation to around mid-April. Writing always seems like it will take less time than it actually does; I spent an entire evening on writing just one scene the other day, for instance. By the time I was finished, it was like 3 AM. So it goes.

That being said, my ambitions re: the release date haven't changed. Right now, I'm thinking I'll finish writing mid-April as mentioned prior, and then I'll spend the remainder of the month programming. After that, if all goes well, we should see the anticipated May release date through. Perhaps the update will even come out on May 25th, aka the one-year anniversary of Jezebel first releasing. That would be pretty cool! With regards to this month's bonus scene, I've been told I'll be getting the art by or on the 29th of March, so expect it then. I'm also going to be putting out the final NSFW preview for Pt. 2 at some point this week, as the rest of the H-scenes are just too spoilery to share ahead of time.

I have sadly run out of new female characters to show you for now, but there are still a few male characters I think would be fun to preview before Pt. 2 is released. This week I'm debuting Klaas-Jan, a prodigious young knight serving the House of van der Valde. Klaas-Jan has put together an impressive tournament record in his short career, and is looking forward to proving himself at the Jeux de Dague. I worry somewhat that Lenart and Lieven weren't great introductions to the van der Valdes, since Lenart is known for his relaxed demeanour, and Lieven is in open rebellion against his family. Klaas-Jan more straightforwardly embodies the sort of militant religiosity and elitism that is associated with the banner he fights for.

That's all from me for this week, I hope everybody stays safe out there!
